I absolutely LOVED THIS PLACE! I would 100% recommend it! I enjoyed the Chicken with Steak. They gave you soup and salad to start. The show was really fun! He cracked a lot of jokes. I didn’t post any videos because you HAVE to go to experience it! I drank a virgin pina colada. The red one! They even give you a souvenir glass to take home with you all for $8 something! Title: A Night of Thrilling Cuisine and Spectacle at Kabuki Japanese Grill

Right in the heart of Roanoke, Virginia, lies an exceptional culinary gem, Kabuki Japanese Grill. I embarked on my gastronomical journey there on a cool summer evening, and it was an absolute revelation of flavors and fun that truly left an indelible mark on my dining experiences. Here is my take on why this establishment is well deserving of a solid five-star rating.

From the moment I walked in, I was immediately struck by the warm and inviting atmosphere, a perfect blend of traditional Japanese aesthetic and contemporary design. The soft lighting, coupled with the intricate murals of Japanese art, set the tone for an evening of enjoyable dining. The seating arrangement is both spacious and intimate, conducive for group dining, yet also comfortable for solo visitors or couples.

One of the defining highlights at Kabuki is the splendid show put on by their highly skilled chefs. At your table, they masterfully slice, dice, and grill your chosen dishes with precision and flair. The dramatic clanging of knives, the flame-kissed ingredients, and the witty banter from the chefs contribute to a performance that's both delightful and captivating. It’s more than just dining; it's an immersive and thrilling teppanyaki experience.

The service at Kabuki is nothing short of top-notch. The waitstaff are prompt, courteous, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Their attentiveness never wavered, despite the busy crowd, ensuring our glasses were always filled, and any request was swiftly attended to.

As a vegetarian, I have often found dining at grill houses to be quite the challenge. However, at Kabuki, my dining preferences were not only catered to but celebrated. The chef took extra care to prepare my meal in a separate area, showcasing a level of respect and understanding for dietary preferences that is genuinely commendable. This act of consideration not only safeguarded against cross-contamination but also showed a commitment to customer satisfaction that's hard to find.

Despite catering separately to my vegetarian needs, the chef still managed to make my meal a part of the shared group experience. I reveled in the theatrical flair as he displayed the same charismatic antics and technical wizardry while preparing my plant-based meal. The end result was a medley of vibrant, tasty vegetables, grilled to perfection and bursting with authentic Japanese flavors.

The rest of my party, carnivorous in their appetites, were equally thrilled with their dishes. Whether it was the juicy, tender steak or the fresh, succulent seafood, each was prepared and presented with the utmost finesse. The synchronization between spectacle and food preparation made the entire dining experience a joyous adventure, bonding the group together in culinary delight.

Kabuki Japanese Grill is not merely a restaurant; it's a place where food, artistry, and camaraderie coalesce beautifully. The attention to detail in service, the expertise in delivering a delightful show, and the dedicated catering to various dietary needs sets Kabuki a cut above the rest. The enchanting spectacle of the grill, the warm, pleasant atmosphere, and the quick, attentive service form a gastronomical symphony that is as pleasing to the senses as it is to the palate.

To say that I was merely satisfied with my experience at Kabuki would be an understatement. I was thoroughly impressed, captivated, and delighted. As a vegetarian, finding a place where my dietary needs are met with such care and consideration is a rare gem.

For anyone in Roanoke or its vicinity, seeking an unforgettable dining experience, a visit to Kabuki Japanese Grill is a must. The taste, spectacle, and experience are sure to linger in your memories, enticing you back for more. It is, without doubt, a five-star gastronomical extravaganza.

We haven’t been to Kabuki in over 10+ years, but the experience was just as good as we remember. Our wait staff was very attentive and the chef was fun and interactive. The food was really good as well. Make a point to visit if you ever have the chance.

It has been many years since I have been to a Japanese Steakhouse and I must say my Husband and I had a wonderful time, the food was great, actually the fried rice was the best I’ve ever had… amazing!! The chef was great, we had fun, laughed and totally enjoyed every second. We had to wait about 10 minutes before getting seated but we got there a little early so that was on us. There’s plenty to keep you busy for a bit, there’s a KOI pond, lots of older Japanese decor. We will definitely be back. I feel the price was pretty reasonable, I got Steak and shrimp and my Husband got steak and scallops, I probably won’t get the steak again unless I get a thicker one but the meal includes a bowl of soup, a salad, 3 piece shrimp appetizer, veggies, fried rice and your entree. There’s plenty of options to choose from.

Many of us have been to a hibachi restaurants and for the most part, they're all relatively the same. What really set them apart is the interaction and engagement with the diners - and this is where and why Kabuki is 5 stars!

The chef was incredibly funny and smart witted. He had great jokes and commentary towards us that made all of our party laugh and have a good time. What made it even more fun was that he and the other chef were going back and forth with their own jabs at each other.

And the food. It. Was. Fantastic. The filet mignon was so tender. The scallops were very large.

We'll continue going back when we visit.

I ve been going to kabuki once a year with my family for the last 12 years. You know when some experiences are better in your memory than in reality? Well kabuki is NOT that. Each year i m excited to go but the actual experience exeeds my expectation each time. For a restaurant to be this consistent in quality over this many year has been nothing short but amazing to me.
5 out of 5 stars

Food was great! However the server needed to learn the menu. He couldn't answer any questions without going to ask someone.
