Called today for the purpose of asking if SBL sells therapeutic shoes for a patient suffering from severe pedal edema resulting from a CHF (congestive heart failure) diagnosis and how the process works regarding ordering a pair.

I spoke with a young lady by the name of Christy (spelling?) who said yes, therapeutic shoes are available but it depends on the insurance and location as to the special order process.

When I shared with her that our location is Greenville, she asked, Where? When I told her it is west of Vandalia, she said she had never heard of it because she is from Texas which caused me to think perhaps I had called the wrong number.

Later, she put me on hold and came back telling me they do NOT sell therapeutic shoes for diabetics.
(Active listening opportunity since the original diagnosis I shared with her was not diabetes but rather CHF- congestive heart failure.)

I experienced from Christy:

*Speaking over the top of me

*Zero empathy

*Lack of professionalism
