Holiday Inn Express & Suites Vandalia, an IHG Hotel

This was a really great hotel to stay at. We have stayed at many Holiday Inns in the past. We really enjoyed our stay here. My kids lived that they got to use the pool. We were the only ones using it, so it was nice and quiet. I loved that they had towels in there ready and available. Most places don't. The staff service was excellent, especially the woman who set up breakfast this morning. Happy Birthday to her. The rooms were clean and spacious with everything we needed. The whole atmosphere of this place was great and located right in front of Walmart with an easy walk for anything you need.

Will the attendee for the evening seemed to not offer the friendly service I am accustomed to at most Holiday Inn Expresses. Never offered information about breakfast in the morning and when asked where he would recommend dinner he handed me a sheet of paper. Being from out of the area and not familiar with the area of where these places were. I ended up using trip advisor app.

Checked in late Friday 9/22, had issue with door lock on our room. But guy at front desk took care of it, gave us another room. I think his name was Sage n he didn't give up...we passed through lobby a few times n he always asked if things were better n is their something he could do to make our stay better. He was very pleasant n helpful

My night at this Holiday Inn in Vandalia was totally unexpected. I was traveling home to Park Forest, IL(30 mi south of Chicago) from a visit with my son who lives in St. Louis when I was caught in a horrendous rain storm. I decided to "play it safe". That's where I met Julie at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Vandalia. She was kind enough to make sure that I would continue to have another excellent breakfast this week!! And Wes at the front desk was most helpful with keeping me safe and making sure I got the best senior savings!

This is a nice and typical IHG property right on 70. It is a great convenient stop before Saint Louis if traveling west. There is a Super Walmart right behind it if you need to restock on travel needs. The Walmart also has a gas station. Several dining options are nearby.

When we were there the elevator was not functioning but rather than let us discover after we checked in, we were warned, given a discount, and they were even offering referrals to other non-IHG hotels if using the stairs was not an option. It wasn't a problem for us so we stayed the night. Despite proximity to the highway it was very quiet.

We have recently stayed at several IHG properties and this one has the best stocked and prepared breakfast. Extra kudos for that.

Right off the highway and everything our traveling family needed. Breakfast had kid friendly options, as well as GF, and there was a pool so my kids' energy could go somewhere else other than inside the car. The rooms were clean and cold too. We will be sure to stop here again!

Wes at the front desk was super hospitable and informative. I do like that it’s super close to Walmart and not too far off the highway.

My family and I have stayed here frequently and always enjoy it. The rooms are always nice and clean. The staff are so friendly and even remember us now, which for me shows exceptional customer service. We always love the pool and utilize it extra as our daughter loves to swim. Highly recommend!!

This is a great hotel. Jasmine was an excellent staff member who was always very helpful and very kind to us during our stay. The hotel was very clean. The breakfast was very good. The beds were very comfortable. Rested good and got a good night's sleep. The hotel is in a great location. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

Pretty reasonable. No resort fees, with a decent continental breakfast. But the view of Walmart and the gas station wasn't very cool.

Clean room with no issues. Quick check in, and felt special they had our name up on a welcome board. Delicious breakfast on Saturday and Monday morning. Special thanks to Kaci at checkout for helping me understand the bill, and was super sweet and professional. Also like to thank the lady who did breakfast Saturday morning she was amazing and treated us like we were family. Highly recommend hotel and employees!

We stayed here 4 nights while in town for some family business. We we're very pleased with our stay. Everything was well maintained and clean. We used the common area quite a bit which was handy. They have private meeting room.s if you need them the included breakfast each day had an assortment of hot and cold items, and was very tasty. We had one of the larger rooms I think with a desk to work at and a sofa and chair. Again good service and well maintained. Don't underestimate the power of fresh cookies by the business center. Used the workout room, but not the pool or laundry. I would recommend this place.

Appears to be a new location with fresh rooms/fixtures. I cannot say enough positive things about this location at this time. I checked into a unit with a King size bed. The room is good size, with many USB outlets for all my devices. The shower is ridiculously large, and vanity is more than adequate. Building amenities are top notch too. Exactly what I expect from a hotel. You can tell the housekeeping staff pays attention to detail because the room was spotless. Easily 5 stars, especially compared to the hovels other business like to call a "hotel". The front desk clerk, whom I cannot remember the name, was quite friendly, and very professional. Cannot remember her name, but she was present when I checked in (05/24/2020@ ~9:30pm).

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is amazing! The room is comfy and super clean. Indoor pool and jacuzzi were awesome! I travel a lot with my husband for business and this hotel is by far one of my favorites. Definitely worth to stay here. I highly recommend it.

Rooms were super clean. Staff was friendly and very helpful. They have an amazing breakfast and coffee was delicious. Definitely coming back. Avoid the Ramada up the street at all costs. What a dump!!

We were caught in a nasty winter storm. The girls at the front desk were amazing dealing with many stranded travelers. So helpful helping us order pizza from the only restaurant still open. Breakfast was excellent and server was efficient and friendly. Very Covid friendly hotel. We are so grateful for their friendliness and helpfulness after 11 hours on the road in terrible weather.

Clean, updated rooms. The second floor is still being remodeled, that's how recent the upgrades. The breakfast was good, hot, and offered a good selection, including some healthier options.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming and the hotel is conveniently located just off I-70 with access to Walmart, fast food, and some somewhat nicer full-service restaurants. The pool area was clean and was a big hit with the kids who stayed with us.

We would definitely stay again -- a great, comfortable stay at an economical price.

I enjoyed my stay in this hotel totally! The staff was very friendly and ready to offer any assistance. The rooms were spacious, clean, offered free wifi, and use of pool, hot tub, and exercise room. The breakfast is super with a wide variety of choices offered. I especially liked the heart healthy choices. This is certainly a hotel I will be visiting again.

The atmosphere was very pleasant , rooms where clean, neat, and comforting. The pool was nice. Breakfast was good too. Loved the variety they offer especially when my son is a picky eater!! Staff was friendly!! My family and I are driving from colorado to Maryland and we are staying here again on our way back. Great place to stay!!
