Embers Wood Fired Pizza

I have tried wood fired pizza before, this is exceptional. This Mom and Pop Pizza eatery has warm non-corporterized down home atmosphere. Very clean, helpful friendly staff that really wants to make sure you're satisfied. My order is ready right on time. Save money by paying with cash

Amazing pizza and great people. Plus a full bar (BONUS). Its hard to find decent pizza on the road when you're originally from NY so this is a definite stop any time we come through.

My wife and I cannot drive through Vandalia without stopping here for their awesome pizza. Their beer selection is excellent and very reasonably priced. We’ve had top notch service at every visit. The owner is a great lady. Best pizza around!

One of my favorite places to eat... I go at least 1 time a weeks. Very good food love the entertainment when they have it and the girls are so very nice and quick to get what you need.

So I wanted to update a little more.
These gals came in really early one morning and started in on my order. I ordered 45 pizzas to go for our crew out in the solar fields and had it all done by 11:00 am. Everyone loved the pizza... we are going to miss you guys best pizza ever from the solar crew in Ramsey solar site.

There's nothing like a fresh wood-fired pizza! ...and appetizers. They have more than just pizza... Staff was very friendly. They have a small bar that the entire staff attends. The live acoustic music a couple of weeks ago was nice. They close at 9 pm, so don't camp. There's a cute piano in the corner, but not for kids to play...please.

Excellent all the way around! If I lived in Vandalia, IL, I’d eat here every week!!

Pizza is delicious. Probably go once a month or so.

That poor waitress was only one there (besides the guy making pizzas.)
She did a great job, but was running her tail off.
Not a complaint. That girl was a hard worker.

My boyfriend and I came here in the early afternoon. They were dead, which made me uneasy at first. A friendly young lady seated us at a table and took our order. We ordered the Italian sausage and peppers pizza. Wow! The wood fired crust was just perfect! Their tomato sauce is fantastic!! It tastes like fresh crushed tomato sauce! The mozzarella cheese was gooey and buttery and yummy! And of course, the toppings were delicious too! The Italian sausage was mildly seasoned and proportioned in nice pieces. The peppers tasted fresh and were in nice chunks too.

The ambience is ok. But the pizza was really, really good!

I enjoyed the smoked wings, meatballs, and adult beverages. The live music set a good mood. I left my debit card by accident and Vicki, the owner, was able to help me out the next morning so I could get home.
Thanks for the good eats, tunes, and bail out in a crunch!

The pizza was delicious. The wings were done perfectly...just a little crispy. The service was terrific and our glasses were never empty. The price was very reasonable. Definitely stop here again when we pass thru.

I’m a truck driver and have traveled all over the country trying pizza spots. This is the best pizza. Take my word for it. Prosciutto bite are amazing and owner/staff super friendly whenever I show up

Travelling home for the holidays and this was a great option. I really enjoy Woodfired Pizza and this was a good choice. The wait staff was prompt and courteous. We had the prosciutto appetizers and enjoyed them very much. We ordered a meat pizza and enjoyed every bite of every slice. If we pass through this area again I'm sure we will stop if time allows. I also got the photo bomb one of the pictures that the staff was taking.

Excellent food and the costumer service is excellent. The food super delicious Lois is very nice especially for us Trucker a nice conversation and history of Vandalia. The pizza is delicious. And please ask for the Thai sweet chili, very good to dip the crust of the pizza is a must. Trust me

We stopped in Vandalia for the night on the way home from California and ate at Embers. It was delicious pizza. The staff were very pleasant (owner's mother was our server) and the atmosphere was friendly and gracious. Great place, great food

This is the best Pizza. They have so many NOT YOUR NORM toppings They have all the classic toppings. Nice bar & good drinks, clean , staff amazing. Fire roasted pizza 😛❤. I come through here on a regular basis ! I will ALWAYS eat here.
