The Hatter Cafe

We only visited the gift shop and bakery on this visit. The cookies are huge and so yummy! The management told me the shop was new, only completed last winter. There are so many tea cups and home decor. There was a baby bunny outside who was so cute! We will stop back here again to eat on the next go around.

This restaurant is an absolute gem! As an Alice in Wonderland themed establishment, the decor and gift shop are wonderful! The food was amazing as well! Don't be misled by the word Cafe. This is an amazing restaurant, run by the nicest people, and serving great food! Next time I'm in Mentone, I'll be returning! Highly recommended!!

We camped at DeSoto and drove to Mentone to check out The Hatter. The owner was super lovely. The gift shop was adorable, my husband bought me a tiny clock necklace and I got a shirt. We had lunch(just missed breakfast). The food was fresh and tasty. The tea was amazing. The staff were also super friendly.

Beautiful little place in a beautiful little town. The perfect place for a mommy/daughter lunch date, a birthday luncheon, or a quiet dinner date. The food was spectacular. The staff was so pleasant and attentive, and the chef can be seen in the dining room greeting guests periodically.

Stopped here for breakfast on an anniversary trip. My husband and I both loved it! He had pancakes and I had biscuits and gravy. It was delicious and both of us were full. Since it was cold, we also decided to get some tea. The birthday flavor was amazing! We ended up buying some in the gift shop afterward. We also loved the decor. And our waitress Stephanie was superb! We will definitely have to come back again!

Everywhere you rest your eyes there is something lovely. What fun and oh so creative decor. And the food was delicious, with each dish showing off a unique detail. Can’t wait to go back and sample the dinner menu.

I peeked in one of the B&B rooms-welcoming and cosy-and the gift shop is a delight.

There was a long wait without a reservation BUT I can see why! The food was absolutely amazing, the staff was incredibly sweet and all the decor was so adorable and fun. If we are ever back in the area - which I have a feeling we will be back - we will come here again!! Best eggs Benedict I’ve ever had in my life!

12/10 would visit again. Magical place for the imaginative child in each of us. The tea service was awesome! Whimsical, beautiful place with good food and great service. Also enjoyed conversation with other customers and staff. Wish we had been in town to enjoy dinner, but that didn't match our schedule. Hope to have dinner there next time we are in the area. A must stop for anyone enjoying tea, creativity, and imagination in Mentone.

The Hatter Cafe is one of the cutest places ever! I've been a cpl of times already. The last time I went was Mother's Day 2021. They are wonderful people, food is great & the place has such a cozy feel. You can rent the rooms also. I can't wait to go back & check out the new place they are building out beside it (I think it may be the gift shop) If you haven't tried it, you're missing out! You'll absolutely love it 🖤

If you are ever driving between Atlanta and Huntsville, make it a plan to stop and enjoy a meal here. Stopped here on a whim and was blown away by almost everything. Food was fabulous, the decorations were curated with care and just made the whole meal experience feel special. They just opened a bakery/gift shop too! We will most definitely be back, possibly to try the B&B as it’s close to several great hiking spots.

This was a fun experience and great place to dine on our way to Gatlinburg, TN. Restaurant is such a unique place and the food was served on china that was actually my grandmother’s pattern. So brought back fond memories! Gift shop and bakery is also very nice. Will definitely plan a trip back again.

Veggie sandwich was great! Poppy pecan salad with little hearts was wonderful! And the crunchy pea salad was very tasty. The breakfast tea was served in a cute tea pot and was very nice. A great lunch for me and my Lady. We hope to dine there again on our next trip to Mentone.

Love this little cafe. Owners are hands-on and make you feel so welcome. The Alice in Wonderland decor is amazing, even the bathroom! The food is delicious. I especially like the bacon and hash brown casserole. Also like the hot raspberry tea and the hot peppermint tea. Hope the gift shop is ready and open on the next visit. Wish it was closer to home!

Top notch. Every detail curated with care. Perfectly Hatter. It was a pleasure to happen upon this place on my way home to Florida!
Th food was also crafted with the same level of care and everything was delicious and creative.

Absolutely had an amazing lunch here! We sat on the screened porch to eat on a day when the weather was perfect. Our server (wish I had gotten her name because she was awesome) was very helpful and really took care of us. We both had pots of tea (Earl Grey for me and Cherry Blossom for my wife). I chose the Meatloaf Pie with Corn Casserole and she got the Chicken and Biscuits with Pea Salad. Both were fantastic and a perfect helping without being too little or too much. Bread Pudding and Pecan Cobbler for desserts. Highly recommend both. Great atmosphere and friendly staff topped everything off. We will being coming back on the next trip to Mentone.

We stopped by The Hatter Cafe for the first time in October. The atmosphere is amazing and the food is delicious. Even when they’re absolutely packed (like no tables available) it doesn’t feel crowded in a bad way. Almost adds to the Alice In Wonderland madness. We’ve had both breakfast and supper here and it was all incredible. I’d love to stay in one of the rooms in the future.

This is absolutely a must when going through Mentone. The food is fabulous and everyone is so friendly. They even opened a bakery and gift shop. This was definitely such a treat!

Cute unique cafe , kinda feels like you're at Grandma's house, very friendly, cute staff , very good food that they put a lot of time into. I live in Mentone and can't wait for the expansion bakery / coffee shop. Lots of gifts too in the restaurant and the new cafe opening up ASAP as of 12/3... Updated. Coffee hit the spot on the go too.. Mocha with ice.

We have been visiting Mentone for 15 years and this restaurant was a breath of fresh air. From the time you pull up in the parking you are greeted with a mural of Alice in Wonderland that intrigues your mind to a wonderful place in time of a fairytale of wonder and delight. When you open the front door you are greeted with an atmosphere that Walt Disney would be proud of filled with every trinket and saying of Alice in " her "wonderland. The presentation of food is suited for a Queen and King. The beef tenderloin and sauteed veggies were delectable and cooked to perfection. Such a great experience all around in a perfect little quaint town full of adventure! Also, the Rabbit Hole Gift and Bakery shop is a great compliment to an already excellent themed restaurant. You will not be disappointed.
