DeSoto State Park Campground

Nice park and campground. We camped in the RV section. The sites were level with full hookups. Some were paved and some were gravel. Large sites were available. There is ice and firewood available. The park has much to offer including hiking and camping.

Large camper sites with full hookups and room between campsites. Cable TV at sites. Clean bathrooms, friendly staff and numerous hiking trails. Short drive to Little River Canyon and Desoto Falls. Mentone is a short drive as well

As for the RV area, they are very nice pull throughs, a key pad gate, very nice rest room/bath houses, great hiking trails (some are very rocky and steep), and nice folks at the general store and lodge. Our site had some rough edges on the picnic table area (asphalt) and the camper pad required a little side to side leveling, but all in all, I love this place! The nearby waterfalls and whitewater rivers and quaint little town of Ft. Payne are a must visit. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Campsite electro didn’t work and it was difficult to get a hold of someone but finally did and had to move sites. We were booked for a concrete pad but got stuck with gravel. The trails were well marked but no waterfalls due to drought at this time. Very clean park

Beautiful park and area! Site #27. Very roomy and private. Parked our 34 ft camper plus large truck, and had extra room. Can access trail from the back of campsite. Deer came through every day we were there. Full hookups. Nice comfort station (that has wifi). We we able to use our cell phones (Verizon) at the campsite. Easy access to restaurants and shopping.

My wife's new most favorite place. Great campsites, privacy galore, plenty of hiking trails. Close to Rome Braves games.

Beautiful falls! Some of the hikes are "moderate", though I would say the extreme end of moderate. If you are up to the challenge, and bring good shoes, go for it!

Wonderful camper space excellent up to date Restrooms showers and Laundry area. Very well maintained wonderful hiking trails, for all ages . my grandsons love this wonderful home away from home which is just a few miles away

Awesome campsites! Best we've seen after visiting 7 AL State parks. Lots of great hiking trails with waterfalls to see. We'll be back!

Came here from Indiana over spring break. Site #5. This is how all campgrounds should be! Full hook ups, wifi, large sites, mostly level parking, clean bath house... Be sure and follow their driving directions if you are pulling a larger camper. Roads are winding, steep and narrow.

Loved camping here. Every campsite is clean and well maintained. We enjoyed hiking near the campsite. There were also great family activities going on in the park when were there. The camp hosts were very visible.

Camped here the week before Christmas 2020. Campsite level. Fire ring and grill. Check in was a breeze. Water pressure good. Sites spaced nicely. We had full hookups. Our site backed up to a trailhead. We will definitely return.

This place is nice and shady. There are pull thru sites for big RVs. The sites are close but not close enough to worry about. The bathhouses are nice and clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is located in a great area with awesome places to visit that are only a short drive away.

Beautiful campground, I have traveled a lot and this is one of my favorite campground.. they have beautiful big camp sites, wifi and cable TV included....

We always love to primitive camp first time at the wall tent loved it. Surround by nature is the best way to relax

This is one of our favorite campgrounds. Very clean, quiet, well kept. The hiking trails are great.

Nice sites. I think most are full hookups. Lots of things to do. The Park is clean and well maintained.

First time staying at DeSoto State Park. The restrooms are newer and very nice. Hand soap dispensers, showers, and air blow dryers are convenient. The improved camp sites are wonderful. Spaced out with trees in between so you don't feel like you’re on top of each other. Each improved site has a picnic table, water spigot, and electricity. There are pay washers and dryers available. Staff is very helpful and friendly.

Great campground. Very clean and maintained. Cable tv a plus. Only thing there is no phone signal but that is no biggy, would like to keep in touch with older parents to see if their ok though
