I’m visiting and wanted to check out a bike I’ll be using while I’m here. Brian was super helpful. While checking out downtown Amherst I got a message my bike was ready! He addressed the issues I had with the bike. Their pricing is reasonable and fair. Definitely recommend. I love using small bike shops like this. Thank you so much!

Laughing dog is a shop with competent mechanics, a good selection of bikes and accessories and friendly employees.

I stopped in at laughing dog while touring through MA on a Sunday morning and had a great experience. They lubed up my chain, and while I was there I also picked out a set of pedals (an upgrade I'd been thinking about making for a bit). I took a look around - they have a great selection of new AND vintage bikes which are beautifully restored for sale at fair prices.

I had a great experience at this bike shop. I'd recommend it for anyone in the area either for a quick tune up or to buy a bike. Many thanks for the chain lube and I hope you continue to provide great service to western mass for years to come!

I've been a customer of Laughing Dog for years and have always been beyond happy with the service. Everyone knows everything about bikes from all eras, so there's never been a job they couldn't handle. Their prices are extremely fair and they're always willing to help you out and order something they don't have in stock. They're also very honest and will recommend the appropriate product for your goals if you come in with some ideas of what you want to accomplish. They stock tons of domestic products and are active in the local race community. As far as I'm concerned, its THE shop to go to in the area.

Brought my Trek mountain bike in to get look at due to issues. After they fixed it up, when i got home. Once i started to ride it, i felt a big better difference/improvement. Rode up slope streets and steeper hills much easier. As of now it was worth the money i spent to fix it. Just hope it lasts a long long time. Thanks a bunch. I recommend this place to anyone!

Went in for a spoke replacement and a tune up (if necessary). They replaced the spoke, made a few minor tune ups, and charged me ~2/3 of the quoted full tune up price. They treat their customers fairly and are friendly. I will definitely continue to go there for my bike needs.

I've been coming to Laughing Dog for two years now and it is easily the best shop in the valley. Staff are great at working around a student budget and the tune-ups and fixes I've had done there were very reasonably priced. Great selection of road and mountain bikes, new and used, as well. Check it out if you're in downtown Amherst!

Great business ethics. I had bought a bike (bicycle) from them around 7 months ago. The cycle had a puncture a week ago. I took the bike to them to get the tube replaced.

After replacing the tube, the person who fixed the tube (who, I'm guessing is the owner of the shop) remembered that the bike was sold from their shop. He told me that the bike had an incompatible tube (mountain bike tube instead of some other type of tube) and the tube expanded too much causing the flat. Because of that, he didn't charge me for the replacement of the tube.

As you can probably tell by now, I'm a novice when it comes to bike stuff. As far as I was concerned, it was a normal puncture. He could've charged me for the replacement and I'd have never suspected anything. But they were honest and didn't charge me anything.

I'd highly recommend this store. Especially for people like myself who don't know much about bikes.

went to laughing dog and they set me up no problem. good price on everything. really honest shop. they know bikes. they will not just try to sell you something brand new

The staff and service at this shop are both fantastic. Went in to find a used/refurb and was immediately helped, and able to get something to fit my need. Their reputation and notoriety are genuine and well deserved.

Absolutely great shop. Just getting into cycling and needed to buy a road bike. This was the 5th bike shop I stopped into. They had a really wide array of entry level ($600-1,000) bikes and were able to give me a great deal on a new bike from last year's stock. The owner spent two hours fitting the bike and teaching me maintenance tricks along the way. I not only got a great bike, but learned a ton of useful information. This is what you hope to find in a small local shop, superb service and attention. I'm happy I drove 35 min to get there.

I come here every spring for a tune up, and I'm never disappointed. I never feel I'm paying too much, and the staff is always helpful and willing to answer questions. You can't go wrong here; Laughing Dog is one of the best bike shops around.

I have been a customer of Parker since my first "Real" bike and skateboard purchase! Highly recommended. They might not be the cheapest shop around but you get what you pay for with quality service.

The owner of Laughing Dog is a dear friend of mine. He has been through decades in the bicycle business. His approach to customers is exemplary. I have learned so much from observing him in this role. He also treats his employees great, and will keep them on long after he can barely afford to. There is a reason why Laughing Dog Bicycles has lasted since the 1980s. The shop is comfortable and inviting. This place is more than just a bicycle shop; it is a bicycle culture social center for Amherst. Even my dog Lance doesn't want to leave when we visit. I will openly admit there is only one shop better than mine in the Pioneer Valley, and that shop is Laughing Dog.

"Just a couple of fun Hipsters with lots of bike knowledge" While other places push you Racing bikes and Protein bars. Laughing dog is about functional and practical bikes for your around campus rider. Yet they don't ignore the long distance rider, they built me a very comfortable light weight yet very commutable bike appropriate hills in the Pioneer Valley. If your a Noob or a Single Speed/Fix gear enthusiast the Dog has the stuff to personalize your style. The products they offer are very same they use themselves and they don't up sell any goof off gimicky products. From what I can see every time I walked in there, they have a line of cruiser bikes, an assortment of multi speed hybrids and higher end bikes that usually I only really see in cities like San Francisco and New York. Remember they are true cyclist guys talking the language so their terminology can be harsh sometimes but as long as you state that you don't know what a certain thing means they are totally cool with giving you the rundown. I like The Dog since you know you always are getting a great deal and Parker and his crew of Mechanics have unique set of skills that other bike shops can't offer. They'll tell you honestly whats worth repairing, and it amazing the stuff the can get accomplished. This was my go to place with I was taking my class down in Amherst. So students and the good folks of the valley, you got my thumbs up =D

I had a really good experience. Don't know much about bikes but they fixed up my old bike I ride almost every day. Havwnt had a problem with it since. One of the few bike shops I can find that actually does tune ups well.

Laughing Dog has kept me happily and safely riding for 20+ yrs. now. Parker built me a set of wheels in 98' that I still use and are still "bomb-proof". I use them for everything; road, cyclocross, winter and I've never needed them trued. Laughing Dog stocks lots of practical gear, but if they don't have what I need, they order it and it's usually there in a couple of days. They don't have sales because they're prices are super-low (comparable with the internet). The Valley is really lucky to have such a quality bicycle shop with such knowledgeable mechanics in Amherst.
