Megan’s Valley Landscape & Garden Supply

Just had some beautiful loam delivered today. It came exactly on time and the driver and his assistant were very courteous and helpful. I've used Megan's Valley in the past and have always been pleased with their responsiveness and dedication to quality customer service.

Good selection

I ordered 4 cu.yds. of loam to repair a lawn damaged from tree-work machines. Also ordered 1 cu. yd. of compost, as the company rep. advised me it would be good for a new lawn. I used reputable grass seed from Hadley Garden Center - My "lawn" soon grew in a way completely infested with weeds. I shared my concern, and the owner replied the loam is weed-free, and blamed the salt marsh hay I used to cover the fresh seeds. I approached him a second time after my research yielded the fact that salt marsh hay is weed-free, and the culprit for all the weeds was the compost. I also pointed out that the compost they sold was full of wood chips, and not ideal for a new lawn, but more suited for gardens. I got no reply to my follow-up concern - 2 employees I dealt with were very nice, but, I would not recommend this business to anyone starting a new lawn, or who might want some accountability for a poor recommendation on the use of compost

Soil mix was hot when I received it and the compost is inferior quality. Not well digested at all.
