Donuts with a Difference

As a Level 7 Google Local Guide, I must say take the trip to visit this place. They offer arguably the best donuts in the Boston Metro area. We visited Boston and went in a donut spree trying several places. Donuts with a Different stood above all others. We traveled from Cambridge to taste these treats and it was worth it. We went again the next day. The cost of the Uber was more than the donuts, but it was definitely with the fees 😋

Really awesome donuts, some of the best we’ve ever had! Whatever they are doing they are doing it so right. Such a cute little spot with friendly service.

HANDS DOWN BEST DONUTS MY FAMILY HAS EVER HAD. ALL CAPS BECAUSE YOU NEED TO COME HERE AND SEE FOR YOURSELF! GET THE TOASTED COCONUT COFFEE ROLL (tastes like a cinnamon bun) just 10/10 for us.

Great hometown donut place with a really good mix of cakey donuts like the chocolate frosted, and the yeasty donuts like the glazed and honey dip, which are more melty.

Great stuff, staff is always nice, and donuts are better than most places at a fair price.

Parking isn't terrible with lots of meter parking behind the building

Oh my god. I just had their regular honey dip and it was like biting into a perfectly sweet cloud, and no oily/greasy aftertaste, you can taste the freshness! I think this is the best donut that I have ever had in the greater Boston area—even better than Kane’s!

The BEST donuts EVER!!!!!!!! Get there early because they sell out fast. Maple donuts are unbelievable! Honey cruller is the best especially when still warm!

Seriously the best donuts ever! I’ve been on a journey to find the best donuts around boston and so far this has been the best! I don’t like the new brioche type donuts of union and the hipster stores. Dunkin’ is honestly a classic as much as people love to hate, I’ve had a fair amount of donuts that are worse than Dunkin. But donuts with a difference hits them all out of the ball park! It’s the perfect middle between a dunkin donut type not super yeasty but still soft donut and a krispy kreme super soft but also super yeasty (too yeasty for me in flavor) donut. All their flavors are good but my favorite is definitely the raised(their terminology for yeast donut) chocolate glazed with sprinkles. So so good, some places have horrible glaze (like honey dew) but donuts with a difference is just so good. It’s usually the perfect amount with the size of the donut. They just truly know how to make good freaking donuts. But definitely go in the morning 1. for fresh donuts (so good) but 2. cuz they sell out of their flavors quick. Oh and bring cash because there’s an extra charge for card! $17 for a dozen! I think $9 for 1/2 a dozen but I always get a dozen lol.

This place is literally the best donut shop I have ever been to EVER!!! There donuts are way WAY better than Dunkin' Donuts!!!!!!!! They have friendly cashiers/servers, their prices are great, and they keep a clean shop!!! This place is so amazing that every time I come here there's always a line out the door!!! I highly recommend Donuts with a Difference if you're looking for a great local coffee and donut shop!!!

PHENOMENAL DONUTS
The best 'made on premise' donut shop I've been to since my childhood. 1/2 doz for $9+. Made all morning, usually something warm is available until 10AM. Best honey dipped.
All of their glaze on raised dough are addictive. Cake donuts are crispy outside, generous glaze, soft most inside. Best seasonal- glazed pumpkin cake.

I've also tried:
Union Square - decent, unique options, raised dough isn't that traditional pillowy texture.

Blackbird donuts - decent, unique options.

Disappointments:
Demets (2x and done) - Medford- 2.85 per donut! Per my most recent visit, the bavarian cream tasted bad, and the honey dipped had soggy grease/ sugared dough.

Heavenly donuts (1x and done) - Wilmington - worst tasting- glazed cake donuts were dry crumbly, too light on the glaze.

Yes. This is the best donut in the north east. Maybe entire country. Try it. Not your try hard donut shop - simply incredible donuts and good people.

Another amazing little place to eat some delicious handcrafted donuts. Mine were freshly made and still warm ... heaven! Soft with the perfect quantity and consistency of the glaze. I love it!

Great donuts. Love all of their lemon curd or cream ones! Jim helped me out with the donuts. I pick 3 lemon ones. Jim placed another (4th) donut in the bag for me because i think he saw me pointing at it earlier but my bf says no more. He gave me 4 donuts but only charged me for 3... then he tried to give me another donut (5th donut, another lemon) before i left. Jim is tooo sweet. It was my first time there today and i would definitely come back for more.

Let talk about Donuts with a Differences. Amazing and delicious. They're donuts is lite and fresh. Way better than any donuts. Freshly made daily . have so many different options of donuts. $... Trust me, when you try there donuts you'll see what I'm talking about. You cany just eat one. Now i need to go get some

Best donuts in the Boston area. Good size, reasonable price. They get a nice crispy fry on the cake donuts while keeping the inside moist. The raised donuts come out nice and fluffy with just the right amount of frosting.

Is this is the best chocolate frosted donut in Boston? Yes. Might it take you a little effort to acquire it? Also yes.

Donuts are Delicious. They sell so fast that when you get your donuts sometimes they are still warm. Still a good price at $1.75. Young ladies behind the counter have great customer service 👍👍

The BEST donuts. Krispy cream has nothing on these. Note, there is no Wi-Fi, but if you want to work offline or just hang out with some nice people while you wait for hot donuts... this place is a treat.

LA native so sometimes i'm craving normal < 3 ingredient donuts for cheap.

Their cake donuts are good and cakey and their yeasted are good and yeasty. I got like 3 different types on a Friday at ~9:30 AM and each of the 3 were warm and fresh.

It's in busy area so you can get donuts and then go shopping or whatever after.

So glad that they are now reopened! The donuts here are always delicious, and inexpensive by today's standards. No wild flavors, just the tried and true classics!
