Jose's Torta Mexicana

Quick, no-fuss, good food. "Jose's salad," pictured below, has been a staple for me for months. I like getting it with homemade Chorizo and kidding myself that it's still healthy!

My other favorites: tacos Tonatico because of the homemade corn tortillas, enchiladas, and the fajita plate if you're dining in - it is served on the same plate it was grilled on and is quite fun.

Jose's is a staple in my takeout rotation. I have tried a few of the Mexican food restaurants in the area and I always end up coming back to Jose's Torta Mexicana.

I am a vegetarian and occasionally eat fish and their burritos are delicious and filling. The small will fill you up and the large is perfect for when you are starving. Their vegan options are terrific as well.

Guacamole is free in their burritos, which is great in this day and age when everyone is charging extra for the basics.

PS If you are a chipotle mayo fan, ask for a little on the side to spice up whatever you are ordering.

The space inside is relatively small and nobody ever eats there, so if you want to eat there you can but it is very no frills. As a bonus, their bathroom is very clean which I would not expect for a Mexican takeout place.

Tortas, tostadas, burritos, tacos and more! Great quality, tasty food. A definite step above most of the other mediocre Mexican food in the area.

On every weekday they have a different 2 for 1 special that offers really good value.

Everything was delicious and so fresh tasting. We ordered enchiladas verdes, torta norteña, torta california(added rice, beans to these), tortilla soup(has a little bit of spice to it-not too strong though), churros and sopapillas from dessert menu. We will be going back again and for pozole too. Everything was terrific. It was all rich, refreshing with good flavor and I kinda felt like I was back in Mexico. This is one of the best places I've tried during this whole past 6 months and will be returning for sure. The restaurant looks very cute inside but we did a very easy order online and pickup.

Great place! They have both meat and vegan options. I tried the vegan "carne asada" tacos and was not disappointed! Fresh authentic corn tortillas and perfectly seasoned fillings. The verde sauce was tasty.
I didn't care for the red salsa, thought it was too watery. I recommend getting the guac with your chips instead, it was good!
I got take-out. There are a couple of tables for dining in but it's a small place. No outdoor seating.

Great food. Great options. Great staff. The one thing I would complain about is the acoustics in the restaurant. I suspect it is from all the hard surfaces and right angles these surfaces form making sound bounce around so much that it is uncomfortably noisy in there and even difficult to hear someone who's seated right across from you. Mind you, this is from the place only being a third or so full. Hanging some tapestries or sound absorbing padding on the walls would mitigate this.

Came for the new vegan menu, it was great! Delicious, great flavors, we will definitely be back.

The prices were really reasonable, the restaurant was bright and cheerful, the staff friendly and helpful.

Stopped in for takeout lunch and got the mole enchiladas and the torta michoacán. Both were delicious but the enchiladas were a standout — smoky, rich sauce and tender chicken. Highly recommend!

Our new favorite Mexican place in Boston! The vegan options are the best! Chill vibe, good service, good price, and easy to get your food. Recommend getting the specialty drink - tamarind and Jamaican both great! We will be visiting a lot more..

My favorite Mexican place. They have delicious burritos and they are all so friendly. I have gone here like 100 times since they opened and never had a bad experience. The inside is really fun and cute too. I love to eat in when there isn’t covid.

I've wanted to try this place since they opened. I'm glad I did. The food here is fantastic. Everything made there and fresh. Family run place that takes pride in the food and service. Hot sauce was incredible. Guacamole too! I had burrito bowl with chicken. The flavor of the chicken was amazing. Overall a great meal and I will be back!

Our family really enjoys Jose's Torta - it is a great addition to Arlington and we find the dishes to be tasty and healthy. We are vegetarian and there are lots of good options for us, and the service has always been fast and kind. I usually don't write reviews here but was surprised to see negative feedback for a place we've enjoyed.

Thank you for the vegan menu!! Ordered multiple different things from here both from regular and vegan menu and everything tasted amazing. Highly recommend the tortas of course (any of them) and Jamaica drink!
