First, let me tell you that the whole experience with VEG was almost like this group has assessed every single thing that’s wrong in the field of emergency vet care and fixed it. I was pretty floored with our wonderful experience and I can’t say enough about how incredible the VEG team is.
So I woke up at 4am the other night to discover my cat breathing heavily and lying on her side next to me - which has never been her thing - so I examined her litterbox and saw blood in her urine.
Then I found VEG online and called them - even though they’re in Cambridge, over an hour away from me - because I was terrified that I might lose my cat, and I needed the absolute best I could find.
Their many outstanding 5 star reviews definitely boosted my confidence, and once we were on the call, I was amazed at how focused and helpful they were. I was quickly connected to a very compassionate veterinarian who let me explain our problem in detail, then asked me several questions so that they could prepare for our arrival. She assured me that they would take great care of my baby just as soon as we could get there - no matter how long it took (due to the snow storm).
And they did. I was beyond impressed with how perfectly this team performed together to get my miserable kitty comfortable after a speedy UTI diagnosis…
Also, the facility is spotless, with an open-concept plan so you can stay with your pet through the entire visit.
Again, I’m blown away by everything I experienced, and though my kitty’s story ended happily, I’m certain that even if it hadn't, this crew would have done absolutely all they could to comfort us both through the process.
In an emergency, I’ll never take my pets anyplace else.

While I hate to have to write this post, I wanted to express my gratitude for VEG. My cat died very suddenly, and I brought him here. The team immediately sprung into action and truly did everything they possibly good. Unfortunately, my little guy had passed. The staff were so kind. They brought him into a private room so I could sit with him. They gave me locks of his fur and took very nice care of him. Within a week, they had sent me an ink paw print of his and a bereavement card. I’m so sad that I lost my sweet boy, but I’m glad he and I were treated with such care. In loving memory of Mr. Man.

I 100% recommend this location for anyone with a pet emergency. The facilities are great, they care for your pet promptly and with great care, and they also continually check on you, the owner. They handled my anxious kitty with great care and gave meaningful insight and recommendations as to her condition. They made a hard situation just a bit easier.

I've now gone twice and each time has been a great experience. All the staff members are super warm and clearly care about the animals they're treating. Someone usually comes in immediately to check on my pet, and the exams are always fast and effective. The tests are done quickly and explained to me thoroughly, treatments are administered well, and I've been sent home with clear instructions!

I have nothing but good things to say about this hospital and would recommend it to anyone. I'm so glad to have such a great animal hospital in the area!

My dog got bitten by a random dog today. I had seen great things about VEG on social media, so I decided to give this location a try. Luckily, it wasn’t busy today and he was seen immediately with the warmest welcome. He had his wound area shaved, treated, and then a booster rabies shot just for precaution. He had tons of fun, thanks to the great staff at VEG. For future emergencies, I’ll definitely be considering this location since his usual hospital tends to have a much longer wait. This location also has a parking lot which is convenient! Alfred the Sheepadoodle says thank you!

Lola had an episode of upset GI. When we took her to VEG, she was seen immediately and both the Vets (Dr. Estes and Dr. Kim) and staff were attentive, caring, informative and took the time to involve us in all decision making with her treatment. We also called VEG a few times after the treatment for clarification questions and got immediate attention from the team. Lola recovered and we are grateful for the care they provided. Everyone was super friendly and caring, unlike other urgent cares we've had experience with. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing experience when we had to take our dog here today. Everyone was kind, caring, and highly competent. They knew how to make us and our dog feel comfortable, and the vet explained very clearly her thoughts and recommendations. Our dog is dog-reactive and they helped ensure he didn’t have to interact with any other dogs. They moved the process along at a steady pace and within an hour had a diagnosis for my dog, and we checked out with medications and a clear treatment plan in hand. We are very grateful to the whole staff. They all really impressed us as pet lovers and professionals. Thank you!

VEG is an amazing emergency clinic! I will definitely go again if my cat ever has another emergency! The staff were so empathetic and welcoming! They communicated everything so well and I really felt like I had a strong understanding on my cats care. I was amazed by how fast the vet came to look at my cat, and how quickly they got him through blood work, x-rays, and other exams. I wish I could get VEG more than 5 stars because the experience exceeded my expectations!!!

Every person—doctors and staff—we interacted with and who took part in our cat’s care was so caring, compassionate and competent. It is clear that they love animals at VEG and do everything in their power to help them and their families through whatever health crisis brought them there. Thank you to everyone at VEG who helped our cat get better and helped her family through a very difficult time.

I was visiting from out of town and my dog had a paw infection and abscess. I was so impressed and pleased with the experience. Dr Labes was kind and explained everything and answered all questions. Steven London, the vet nurse who was assigned to us, went above and beyond. He brought a towel to make a pillow and a blanket for my dog and at times held her in his lap while we were waiting and was so gentle. The Dr on duty the next day texted to see how Liza was doing and responded to some questions that I had. Overall, I couldn’t have been happier.

We had such a great experience here (definitely the best experience that can possibly be had bringing a pet in for emergency care on a Sunday). We were seen almost immediately and stayed with our cat the entire time. She was treated so kindly and patiently (as were we), and we were given all of our options thoughtfully. Dr. Collard and the whole team there were truly wonderful. While we hope to not need emergency veterinary care often, this is absolutely the place we'll come back to next time we do even though there are a couple closer options.

My dog was diagnosed with pancreatitis at VEG. I carried him in - he was too weak to walk - and I had no idea what was causing his vomiting and diarrhea. Everyone at VEG was very kind, attentive, and willing to answer all my and my mom’s questions. The front desk person even got coffee and a snack for my 88 year old mom as we were there through dinner. And my dog’s nurse texted me an update on him in the morning along with the pictures I included here. I’m thankful they were open and able to see him immediately.

I am so thankful to have such a great animal emergency hospital in my neighborhood.
I could go on forever complimenting the exceptional care the team here provided for my kitten. Everyone was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and kind. They went above and beyond to make sure both my kitten and I were taken care of- they made me feel like family.
The facility is modern and clean. The team here made sure I was right by my kittens side while they provided care and treatments- walking me through what they were doing for her and educating me on important aspects of care along the way- both impressive and thoughtful!

Dr Estes, Dr Perry and the entire VEG took great care of Jackson, making a very nervous pup feel comfortable, provided great treatment at a cost that was far less than I expected. And they saw him right away where other nearby ER clinics had two hours wait teams.

It can be troubling when you don't know what is wrong with your fur baby and this was one of those times. VEG was not like any other pet emergency I've gone to before. This is a wide open space which I felt as though it makes the animals more at ease considering how stressful the situation is to start. Open concept for all to see how the other patients care is being administered. It was a new experience, good experience. And i truly appreciate the care we were given.

Top Notch! I can't speak highly enough about the care and service provided by the doctors and staff at this clinic. They were not only caring and knowledgeable but also stood out for their transparency. Having taken our pets to Angel Hospital in the past, I can confidently say that this location exceeded our previous experiences. The level of care and attention provided here was truly exceptional - Dr. Dana Perry & Dr. Jason Labes, thank you for your dedication and genuine care.

I’ve taken my cat, S3, to VEG Cambridge a few times due to his bladder stone. Every doctor, nurse, & staff member I encountered was amazing. They were friendly, treated S3 with such love, & just seemed like genuinely nice people. We ultimately decided that surgery to remove the bladder stone was the best option. Dr. Perry explained the details & gave a cost breakdown prior to the surgery so I was fully informed and S3 made it through great. We stayed for a few hours after the surgery so he could receive fluids & be monitored. Zach, the nurse, checked on us several times to make sure everything was okay & I had a couple other staff members check if I wanted anything to drink or a snack. I’ve always received a text the day after a visit to see how he’s doing. The day after the surgery I had a question that I texted & Dr. Perry answered within about 40 minutes, which I really appreciated. Overall, I had great experiences here & if I ever need to bring either of my cats to an emergency vet again (fingers crossed I don’t!), VEG Cambridge is absolutely where I’d take them.

Our older cat was having some alarming symptoms and after having some difficulties and getting conflicting info from regular vet’s office, we took her into VEG. I wish that VEG provided standard care because I have never seen a vet and team interact so well with our cat. She gets super stressed, shakes, growls,
sort of howls, and gets feisty. many vets get annoyed by her behavior. Everyone at VEG and especially Dr Perry were so compassionate and kind that she was much calmer. They had to do a few diagnostics and Dr Perry walked us through what he was doing and the results every step of the way. I cannot recommend VEG highly enough. One of the techs put together a sampling of about 6 foods for our cat to try, to get her to eat. They went above and beyond in every way. It was priceless to be able to stay with our pet instead of having her taken away, too. Super grateful to everyone there. Casey the receptionist talked to me about 4 different times the day before we brought our cat in and exuded patience and compassion with my many questions. This is an extraordinary place

My husband and I went in the other afternoon after our little havanese broke her dew claw and was in pain. The whole experience was incredible. We were welcomed by the amazing receptionists and offered snacks and drinks, and they got us right into the main room where all the action happens. The transparency of VEG is awesome and so comforting. You get to be there for the whole process. Our dog Gracie was having a hard time cooperating and they let my husband lay on the floor with her to help. They were so kind and warm the whole time. Kristen Estes was our doctor and she was just the best. I wish she was our regular vet! She explained everything, took her time, and was so sweet. And they followed up with us to make sure she was doing okay. We will never go anywhere else for future emergencies. Thank you to everyone there!
