My husband and I have both been patients of Dr. Skolnik for a number of years. I can speak to how I truly appreciate Dr. Skolnik's thoroughness and knowledge as a clinician along with his upbeat, caring and relaxed bedside manner that serves to make any appointment so much easier and pleasant as his patient.
The office staff are all genuinely kind individuals who are on top of every detail and responsive to any needs or questions you may have. They could be the model example of how a medical office should operate.
Although we have dermatologists closer to where we live, we will gladly continue to travel 2 hours to receive consistently expert care from Dr.Skolnik!

Dr.Skolnik and his staff could not be more professional, caring and friendly towards me and my family with every visit. He explains things thoroughly, his personality puts you at ease. He is very meticulous and he was highly recommended and now I see why. I have never waited more then 10 minutes to be seen and I feel very fortunate to have a dermatologist that I trust and actually cares about his patients.

I have been a patient with Dr. Skolnik for a few years now and have always had a pleasant experience. Sometimes I have had to wait a extra few minutes for my appointment but have always received his full attention when it has been my turn. Just yesterday I saw him for an appointment and was not only given his full attention but also a few extra minutes of his time. Due to an upcoming loss of insurance he completed treatment that was not scheduled. Not only does Dr. Skolnik treat his patients he cares about them and tries his best to accommodate all of their needs. I would highly recommend him to anyone!!!

Dr. Skolnik actually makes going to a doctor a fun and pleasant experience. He is super friendly, easy to talk to, thorough, and he takes the time to answer your questions and explain things so you understand. With procedures that might seem scary to my kids (or me!) like having a mole removed or something frozen off, Dr. Skolnik is so good at putting the patient at ease - he's got an excellent bedside manner. And the staff at Family Dermatology is friendly and courteous as well. Five stars!

We first came to Dr. Skolnik's office at the recommendation of our pediatrician but he has now been treating our entire family for a number of years. I trust his expertise across the board and appreciate the care and dedication he devotes to each patient. We have even experienced medical issues while traveling abroad and he has responded to us immediately. His staff is always responsive, helpful and extremely pleasant. Truly exceptional dermatologist who is thorough and meticulous. I’ve been his patient for 10+ years, as has been my family. Front desk is always friendly and billing department is beyond wonderful. People who want a good dermatologist eventually go to Dr. Skolnik, hence he is VERY popular. I NEVER feel like a number, and I only get charged for what is my insurance deductible and nothing else, and neither does anyone else- ever.

My first experience with Dr. Skolnik was when we brought my son to him years back and his positive attitude and way of making patients/parents feel relaxed was so refreshing. I later discovered he is not just a pediatric dermatologist and I went to him as well. He makes his patients feeI that they are his top priority and I highly recommend him and his practice.

I came to Dr. Skolnik about 6 or 7 years ago upon recommendation of my primary physician. Previously I had been treated by another dermatologist who I thought was providing good care. Once Dr. Skolnik examined me I learned there were several issues involving basal cells on my face that needed a much more comprehensive treatment plan, including MOHs surgery. Because of Dr. Skolnik's diagnosis this serious condition was discovered and dealt with before it became a life changing event. Since then Dr. Skolnik has monitored and managed my skin care exceedingly well. He is a learned physician who makes me feel genuinely cared for. His bedside manner is excellent; I always leave in a good frame of mind because I feel I am being well taken care of and that my health is important to him personally. His staff is likewise courteous, efficient and caring.

Dr. Skolnik is without question the best dermatologist in the MetroWest area. He is calm, courteous, patient, and able explain in laymen's terms your condition/diagnosis and put you completely at ease as well. He erased all concerns I had and spent as long with me as he needed to in order to ensure he was thorough and that all my my questions were answered. If he runs late for his appointments, it is because he is making sure the patient before you is being honored. He is worth waiting for!! I am glad he is my corner and you will be, too.

Dr Ira Skolnik is the best dermatologist hands down. I went to 4 different dermatologist before him and none of them could fix my problem. His high energy will make you believe what he is doing will help and thats exactly what happened. Leaving his office i felt the most confident that my problem would be fixed, which it did. Honestly if your looking for a doctor thats no bs, no fluff, and genuinely cares about his patients then you definitely have came to the right place.

He really does know what he is doing and is very good at it. Again if your thinking of going to someone else your making a massive mistake, and I promise he will fix your problem.

I've been going to see Dr. Skolnik since I was in high school. He's extremely good at what he does, and has really helped me on my journey to clear skin. He listens, and really cares about you not only as a patient but as a person. I would highly recommend Dr. Skolnik to anyone looking for a dermatologist.

Dr.Skolnick has been amazing with my daughter. Instead of handshakes he high five's, which put her at ease immediately. He is optimistic ,warm and incredibly kind. When a certain medication for acne doesn't work he lets my daughter know that there are other options and that together they are going to fix it. We have had such great experience with Dr. Skolnick.

I love this dermatology practice. I have been bringing my three kids here for 15 years. They are knowledgeable, kind and hugely effective at treating the standard dermatology issues like acne to the more challenging issues like psoriasis. I have heard some people say the wait can be long at times but the wait is totally worth the quality of care you receive!

Dr Skolnik is a thoughtful knowledgeable specialist. I appreciate his bedside manner, knowledge, practicality and punctuality. I would not hesitate to refer anyone to him. He is absolutely TERRRIFIC.

I've seen Dr. Skolnik twice and think he's great. Serious and very caring, but also has a great sense of humor. Front office staff was very friendly and I had no snags with checking in/copay, etc.

Such an amazing doctor! He always takes his time with you but will make it quick! I would recommend to every type of person!

Great bedside manner, very thorough and friendly staff

I’m surprised by the number of positive reviews. My appointment was for my son who has a rare skin disorder that can flare up from time to time. We waited for 25 minutes and the actual appointment could not have been more than 4 minutes. Dr. Skolnik was clearly in a rush - I could barely get a word in or ask even one question as he continued to talk over me. He left to bring in some cream and apparently that was the end of the 4 minute visit - this was made clear since he placed the cream in the room and “finished up” our appointment with his body in the doorway. When I finally thought I had an opportunity to get a word in, I asked a clarifying question and he said (while still in the doorway) “I told you this 3 times already, but I’ll tell you a 4th time” - 1) not true and 2) NOT how I want to be treated by anyone - ESPECIALLY a professional doctor. Give me a break.

Side note is that the women in the front desk are lovely and helpful. The 2 stars go to them.

If you don't mind being treated like a number, then Dr. Skolnik is the dermatologist for you! He sees a massive number of patients--the implications of which include long wait times, double-booked appointment slots, and Dr. Skolnik rushing in and out. He makes no qualms about his business model, and openly suggests that if you don't like it, you should see someone else...which is what I did. I found someone else who listened to me and didn't treat me like a number.

Dr. Skolnik is amazing, no one else compares to his knowledge and bed side manner. He treats everyone with class and as if they're his own family.

His front desk staff is not very nice, tactful or helpful, they will cut you off on the phone if you're trying understand or ask a question. You feel as if you're bothering them. When the phone is answered they do not introduce themselves. One staff member cut me off, told me to hold on and another woman picked up the phone. I had no idea who I was speaking with or why I was transferred. Not very professional.
Also, while they are behind a window and in an office you can hear their personal conversation and some of which isn't always comfortable to hear. My son and myself were sitting in the waiting room listening to the staff complain to what sounded like a patient or their family member. I wanted to say something but we were called in. It was very uncomfortable and if it wasn't for Dr. Skolnik I wouldn't go back.
