This is are review from an ex-employee. I left CHR in August due to personal reasons. Over the past 6 months I've had a couple leasing jobs but can honestly say CHR is the only property management company that really cares about the tenants and strives to make their apartment stay a quality one. The management is not a bunch of money-hungry corporate people, they're local Bostonians who understand how tough the pandemic is. And the leasing agents are more than just faceless sales reps who leave you high and dry once you rent.

Is it perfect? No, no property is. But I can truly say CHR sets the bar high in how they treat tenants and employees.

I had a great experience moving in. They've been responsive when I've asked to have things fixed.

Lived here for two years (Cambridge). The maintenance people were prompt and helpful and the building itself was nice, but the management is disorganized and unhelpful. They were late in responding to our request to renew the lease both years, then sent us incorrect information meant for somebody else twice during rent negotiations. When we moved out, they came into our unit a few days before our lease ended (we were literally in the process of moving and weren't home at the time) to repaint the walls, and they actually removed some of our possessions and threw them away. We emailed them about this breach of contract and never got a response. Also, the laundry was expensive and a few machines were consistently broken/flooded the entire time.

They never answer e-mails!! Not when I was renting from them, and not after I moved out and requested documentation for my (Canadian) taxes. I DO NOT recommend.

Extremely rude customer service. I generally do not even leave reviews but this was terrible. From being pushy to sign to simply putting the phone down if the answer was not satisfactory to the agent. Plus there is no clear communication regarding when a tour is and then the agent is angry that you are not ready. Worst service ever and I really should have read other reviews before engaging with them. Trust the reviewers, there are many other agents and services that are way more professional and polite. Do not bother with this one.

I called to check whether the tour I requested can be confirmed and the person said the tour request is not really a request and said "i can't even explain". Then she asked me to how many bedrooms and where I was looking for. I wanted 1 bedroom apartments but she told me I would have to get 2 bedroom because we were 3-member household (fine). She asked me what our budget was but I asked what the range is for the 2 bedroom is. She kept ignoring me and asked me what my budget was. She had such an ignorant and bad attitude throughout the whole phone conversation. It makes me to not even consider CHR for my rental search and share with my surroundings of my terrible experience with the ignorant person that was on the phone with me. I hope you guys properly train people to serve the customers with appropriate manners.

Horrid company through and through, with zero concern and respect for the landlords they represent, the clients that pay them, and other agents that work alongside them in the industry. I have dealt with their admin (Lexy) multiple times, and she never fails to be a rude nightmare. I could leave her name out of it, since her superiors sit within spitting distance of her and overhear her rudeness without interjecting, meaning they are equally as bad, if not worse. If you are a landlord, prospective client, or industry professional - do yourself a favor and avoid CHR at all cost.

I went there,because they said that they have appropriate apartment for us. We wanted two bedrooms apartment, they said they have one. Temployee was trying to convince me to rent 1 bedroom for $2000. Worst experience ever

Would not bother with scheduling an appointment for showing, guy I had an appointment with was very rude and unprofessional.
