I can’t believe the reviews I’m reading because clearly these reviewers are either extremely uptight or have the wrong store. Since the moment this store opened it became my favorite store in the world and run by one of the most beautiful (inside and out), caring people. Kelly takes an interest in her customers, gets to know their likes and dislikes and what will look good on them. She has great recommendations whether it’s myself, my daughter or my husband shopping. Thistle Hill is the reason I shop in Concord so the other stores, though nice on their own, benefit from Thistle Hill’s presence in the town. I prefer to shop small and therefore am fine with stricter return policies, putting down my coffee when I enter to protect the beautiful environment and fully understand the difference in margins for boutiques over chains. There is also a huge difference in quality between these store models and when you weigh price/quality/wear, the items sold by Thistle Hill are actually better economically. When it comes to reviews, remember that consumers are more likely to post a negative review than a positive one. Reasonable people who may have a negative experience somewhere are also more likely to give the shop, restaurant or hotel the benefit of the doubt before jumping to conclusions and complaining loudly to the world. I’m glad that these unreasonable people don’t plan to shop here in the future as it will make my frequent excursions here far more enjoyable. Kelly has a beautiful shop with great clothing and home goods. All three generations of my family shop here and all find things we love! It is so nice to have such a great place, locally. Looking at a previous review I am shocked. Kelly has always been kind, and extremely helpful and attentive when I'm in her store. I have seen people spill coffee in her shop, be generally rude (rare) and know that many local shops have been plagued by shoplifters. Retail in a small town is no easy gig and it's a shame that an unhappy customer would be so personally critical. I have never seen anything but friendly attentive assistance from the staff at this shop. Such a little gem of a store!

I had a delightful experience here. Kelly is enthusiastic and bubbly about her business, personable, forthright and interested. She has exquisite taste and knows how to display her beautiful items invitingly. Each and every interaction with her was fun and informative. She has lovely clothing, fun housewares, bed linens, books, soaps... purses, all top quality. We found beautiful things there and wish her every success! Concord is a gem...

Absolutely wonderful shop in Downtown Concord full of carefully curated goods - from beautiful clothing, to housewares, bedding and artisans jewelry, Thistle Hill is a rare gem. Occasional sale racks never disappoint - beautiful goods at real world pricing. Adore the staff - always enjoyable conversations.

Beautiful things, owner was very helpful creating a bedding set, she has a great eye for pulling things together and her candles and soaps smell amazing too! Yes, a 5 day return policy is short, but she is a small business and managing inventory can be a big challenge if she has a long return window, especially if she has to order new merchandise and things are seasonal.

AMAZING OWNER! Love all her beautiful products and she's the sweetest owner ever. Favorite shop in existence.

Wow. What a horror show. Do NOT go to this store. The other reviews are RIGHT! I recently had a run-in with the owner Kelly who wouldn't let me return or even exchange my purchase because I didn't have my receipt. I asked if she could look it up on her computer and she looked at me like I was from an unknown planet. She was unbelievably mean/rude to me and threatened to call the police if I kept asking her to accept the item for an exchange. I can't believe a store with such fine merchandise would have such a horrible person running it/owning it. It is truly a shame not to mention disappointing and downright disgusting to have to encounter such a miserable person, while in a boutique surrounded by beautiful things. I can only imagine her inner pain and suffering.

The clothing is beautiful and the merchandising pretty. However , the owner /salesperson followed me around asking me not to touch things as if I would break or soil them. She was inhospitable, nasty and bosses me around as if I were her servant instead of customer. I will never shop in this store again. I have never seen a rider, more unfriendly , argumentative store owner. I felt very unwelcome and she was unpleasant and rude even though I bought two things. Go back to store owner school and learn how to be a kind person

When I entered, the woman working there used a sharp, rude tone to a customer which surprised and appalled me.
As others mentioned, she followed me around the store,once the other customer left empty-handed.
My questions received blunt and condescending responses.
With so many warm and welcoming merchants in Concord, it makes it easy to avoid this store , and patronise all the businesses that demonstrate kindness and friendliness to customers.

Don't. Just don't.

I purchased over $500 worth of clothes at this store a few days ago. I prefer to shop locally so that I can help keep the pulse of Concord center alive. I wore one of the dresses I purchased @ Thistle Hill to a cocktail party two days after purchasing it and one of the guests at the party noticed that the weave of the fabric at the neckline was disintegrating. I took the dress back to Thistle first thing, expecting an apology and a credit -- at the very minimum. Instead, I got an offer of $25 off and I was told "all sales items are final sales." When I informed the owner that I was going to tell everyone I know (and I know a lot of people in Concord), about my experience, she accused me of "threatening," her. I didn't know free speech and telling about my experience was "threatening."

The clothes here can easily be purchased on the web (ie: CP Shades), on sale, with the ability to return. This store is very expensive and the attitude of the owner isn't worth it. Go elsewhere in Concord (French Lessons -- similar prices, way nicer people and service), or order the same brands that Thistle Hill carries on the web. Don't shop here. They don't stand behind what they sell and they don't deserve my business or yours.

Sadly, I have to agree with most of the reviews already here. The owner is mean spirited and almost hostile...why?
And her staff ( one salesperson - was beyond unfriendly and unwelcoming)
Pretty stuff - but - I would NEVER go back!

Went into the shop and the owner was extremely rude to me. Looked like the shop had beautiful things to sell, but wont be going back!!!!
