Real Italian Gusto

This place is great! The food is delicious, the pasta is fresh, the pizza is unreal. We even order two desserts, and they were both great. Also, good value! And the portion sizes are generous without being exaggerated.

We had the bruschetta, bolognese pappardelle, the Umbria pizza, the stracciatella gelato, and the profiteroles. And we enjoy all of it.

Will be coming back!

The server was amazing, attentive and lovely. The drinks and food were authentic and delicious. Definitely recommend to anyone who is in the Greater Boston area.

Waitress was a doll. She made my dinning experience feel like a dream. I was unfamiliar with traditional Italian food but she made me feel comfortable and was able to recommend an amazing dish. I will be back!!!!

I've lived in this area for nearly fifteen years and can't believe it's taken me so long to come to Real Gusto! The food was amazing (I am a vacuum cleaner of a person and had the eggplant parmesan, romana salad, and what was left of my friend's gnocchi after they got full) and staff were lovely, not to mention that the big windows looking out over the mystic created such a beautiful atmosphere for dinner! I'd highly recommend this place!

Dominico is amazing. Great service, very friendly, provides amazing advice, and is quick with a joke! Food was delicious and drinks made me happy. My girlfriend was also happy after. Great little place, clean, and very nice.

Our server was soooo nice! Rare to find someone with such a wonderful customer service! The food was delicious as always and the cozy atmosphere is so inviting for a glass of wine and good time with family and friends. My husband and I we love this place!

Just walked in and sat at the bar and had a great Negroni & delicious authentic thin crust pizza. Will definitely be back, loved the long open bar, pretty but casual ambiance, and Domenico the bartender!

The artichokes rapped in bacon were tender and delicious, salad crispy and colorful, eggplant my favorite, fish fresh. The restaurant was clean and had really nice lighting. Service gracious and efficient...got us to the theater on time. We are telling our friends!

Had take out pizza and it was honestly spectacular. Great dough, thin and crispy crust with a good amount of salt, and the toppings were delicious. It was slightly cold but wasn’t hard to warm up at home. Strongly recommend!

The owners are very nice, have a cool background from Italy, and you can almost always find one of them behind the bar. This is a regular place for us and I highly recommend the Parma and Burrata, followed by a pizza. So good.

P.S. there are two balconies you may be lucky enough to get on nice nights.

Nice dining environment and good service. They have bottle beer only and no draft beer although you can see the draft beer equipment inside the bar. Pizza was very soft when I expected it is crispy. But overall I got what I paid for.

Beautiful unassuming place. Food was better than the North End without being overpriced.

Excellent experience. It was busy, we had no reservation and they were kind to seat us at the bar. The food was spectacular - the calamari was fresh and crisp and our food was so flavorful. Francesca gave us wonderful service. I will be back!

This is my second trip here in 2 weeks , Domenica has served me at the bar twice, he’s gracious acknowledges when your glass is empty . The food is delicious and comforting . Like home !

Almost hesitant to leave a review since I’d like to selfishly keep this place from getting too busy but that’s not fair. The food, and not just the pizza, is some of the best around. I’ve tried a lot of the menu at this point and every dish is excellently made. As many other reviews note, the pizza never disappoints. The staff is all top notch, they’re friendly and knowledgeable, and the overall atmosphere is always great. This has become my go to restaurant in Medford, I make sure to take every visitor I have here when I can!

Did take out. Pizzas were excellent-just like in Italy. Dough wasmuch better than typical pizza made in US, and other ingredients were fresh and flavorful. Appetizers also excellent and popular.

I rarely had such a good experience in a restaurant in the US. While I am not Italian, I have been looking for an authentic place in the area, and this came very close!
What made the experience exceptional is the kindness of the staff. Our server was attentive, but we never felt like they were trying to shuffle us out of the restaurant -- which is the normal experience in this country. She was genuinely kind and even complimented me when we were leaving.
Will definitely return!

We went here before a show at a near by theater, so I think the place was busier than they usually are. But the staff was still pleasant, as quick as they could be and the appetizers we got were really good. They have artichokes wrapped in prosciutto that are so good!
