Fugakyu Cafe

I found this place by accident, and it was the best wrong turn of my life.

Now I specifically drive out of my way to eat here for special occasions. The fish is always fresh, and for the price, the quality is above expectations. It's a luxury meal hidden where you wouldn't expect. If you're a sushi lover, this is for you.

I also personally recommend the Unaju if you're looking for something hot and filling- a tasty grilled eel with sweet soy over rice, including pickled radish. It's a dish I struggle to find anywhere else, and it's become a personal favorite.

The quality of the product is exceptional: fresh, elegant presentation, and very attentive service. We did the omakase [chef's choice] set menu. The five courses were sumptuous. The opening soup was a lovely dashi broth with shiitake and enoki mushrooms that lingered umami and woodsy flavor notes on the tongue. The second course was a enjoyable broil-wrapped roll. The third course was a full on sashimi and nigiri elegant presentation with accents of shiso leaves and lightly touched sauces for the nigiri. Superb. The fourth course, avocado stuffed half lobster, was great but perhaps gilding the lily: almost too much but so delicious. If I had had my druthers, I would have preferred another more traditional Japanese style course. The dessert was great.

If you're craving sushi or Japanese food, this place can fullfil your wish!! You are definitely getting a bargain for such high quality seafood. The salmon sashimi was probably one of the best I've had around Boston/Mass and that's at an unbelievable price. It's a great place for a fancy dinner without breaking the bank!

Great lunch specials: miso soup, salad, various choices of sushi, nigiri, maki platters, & a cut up orange for desert. Photo is one lunch special for $12. Good service, fish is always fresh, and they accommodate my GF needs. If you are GF, ask for no crumbs or tempura & the GF soy sauce. Go-To for yum & filling lunch at very reasonable prices. Lots of other hot dishes on menu as well.

Consistently great sushi and our favorite in the area — nice for dining in or takeout/delivery. Creative specialty rolls and a giant menu, for better or worse. They’re definitely on the pricey side, especially for typical sashimi and standard rolls. Highly recommend the Sweetheart Maki.

We made reservations for Valentine's Day and were seated right away. We ordered the Fugakyu Boat, Seafood salad, and Teriyaki beef. All were really good. The fish were very FRESH! The seafood salad was spicy but not too spicy. Miso soup came with the orders and it was good and not too salty. Highly recommend this restaurant!! Service was great too. She refilled my tea promptly.

The place has minimalistic interior design which reflects a Japanese vibe. Service is high quality. Dishes are great. They have rooms for large parties.

When Grub Hub flubbed the delivery, Fugakyu went above and beyond and got our order to us. Have ordered from them several times and their food is delicious! So happy to have found great sushi! Looking forward to a dine-in experience (soon).

Fugakyu is easily my favorite sushi place! The food is always fresh and delicious and the prices are hard to beat. The staff is also so friendly and welcoming. Our server Holly was especially kind and attentive. She is probably one of the best waitresses I've ever had and I am very glad to have met her. 5 stars easily!

I enjoyed a pleasant lunch with family at Fugakyu. The sushi was excellent. The soups were great. The service did not disappoint. The portions were satisfying as well. I highly recommend Fugakyu.

First time here and it is definitely a hidden gem. I live the seating! I was incredibly impressed with how attentive the waitress was, even though it seemed like she was one of the only servers! Appetizers and soup came out quickly and sushi was absolutely delicious. Obviously, living in the metrowest we have our share of sushi places, but this was just a great experience all around and we will definitely be back!

Extremely fresh and DELICIOUS sushi! We got takeout from Fugakyu during a weeknight. The customer service was excellent right from the start. The food was fresh and the rolls are creative! For 4 pieces of sashimi, they offer a great price and it’s incredibly fresh. We got the Dancing Maki, Spicy Tuna Maki, Dynamite Maki, and Hoho tuna maki. The price was definitely a bit high for spicy tuna and the specialty rolls, but they were excellent, so worth the money! Highly recommend. One of the best places for sushi in town and in the area.
