I have found that the Tewksbury Police Department has been nothing but fair, professional, and helpful.

Horrible experience on the night of 5/28 (night before Memorial Day). Girlfriend and I went in to request that a "wellness check" be done on her children who were staying at her ex-husband's house in Tewksbury. Children called their Mother crying and asking to be picked up because ex-husband was abusing them verbally and spat in 12 yo daughter's face (assault & battery). Lt. McKenna was on duty and flat out refused to go do the wellness check and/or pick up the kids and requested that I, the boyfriend, retrieve the children and he "would have my back" (safely ensconced at the TPD). We later talked to a person who was described to us as "the detective" and, despite the fact that they have dozens of detectives, this person turned out to be an "officer" (Hollis) whose competence and attitde I'll rate at a "1" on a scale of 1 to 10. His whole demeanor screamed "drop this and leave" although those words never passed his lips. We eventually left for my house after I picked up the children from the ex-husband's house with an incident report in hand to fill out. We called officer Hollis on his next day on duty (Thursday, 6/1) to see if he had completed his report he promised us we could get a copy of and spoke to him as he was out on patrol. His manner on the phone was that of "someone with an attitude". He refused to verbally pass on details of the report and details of his discussion with the ex-husband and simply stated "it's all in my report which you can pick up at the TPD". Friday, 6/2 I called to see if I could pick up the report at the records office and was told the report was still in an "under investigation" status and could not be distributed (despite Hollis telling us it could). Hollis was off on 6/2 as was a supervisor who could have helped us obtain the report. We also asked Hollis why McKenna had out right refused to do a "wellness check" on the kids on 5/28 and he refused to comment, apparently due to the unspoken code of not "dissing a fellow officer" who also is apparently his boss. Bottom line is that this PD is, arguably, the worst I have ever dealt with.

It's disturbing to be in a city like Tewksbury when your not Caucasian. I only go to this city because I work in Wilmigton. You can't even go to a police officer for help without them catorgorizng you as a "Spanish woman form Lowell". Such a shame that I thought so much more from these officers that are supposed to protect us.

SGT. CHRIS COVIELLO LIES ON POLICE REPORTS TO PROTECT WOMAN BEATER/DRUG ADDICT LOSERS!! RELEASES WOMAN BEATERS FROM JAIL THREE HOURS AFTER ARREST WITH SEVERAL OPEN A AND B CASES AGAINST HIM!!! JUST TO GET OUT AND CALL VICTIM AGAIN! THIS OFFICER CONDONES DOMESTIC VIOLENCE! THIS GUY SHOULD BE ASHAMED TO CALL HIMSELF A SGT! THIS DEPT NEEDS TO HAVE TRAINING IN RECOGNIZING THE SIGNS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND TRAITS OF A SOCIOPATH. THIS GUY IS TOO DUMB TO REALIZE HE WAS MANIPULATED BY A LOSER!! IF THIS IS THE TYPE OF PERSON "PROTECTING" US THIS SOCIETY IS IN BIG TROUBLE AND SHOULD BE VERY WORRIED!! BE VERY CAREFUL!!
