El Sombrero

Nice restaurant decor, great service. Plentiful selections on menu. Had a lunch burrito that sounded tasty. Food came out piping hot & plentiful however an ingredient listed on the menu which helped me make the decision to order that item wasn't inside the burrito. This was disappointing as mex beans are part of what makes the dishes so good along with the rice sides. The chips were fresh and the salsa hotter than most places serve. In general El Sombrero could have been better but worth a second visit to see if this was just a fluke experience. We'll see.

Lunch on Sunday: EXCELLENT, fast and friendly service! They were great with my dietary restrictions and the food was super delicious. All in all, a wonderful experience!

We came to El Sombrero after a long day Saturday... we didn't had to wait for a table, service was fast, food was great, and so the prices. We would definitely stop by again.

Great service and food at this location. My wife has a medical condition and can't have salt. They accommodated her by cooking unseasoned chicken. Most Mexican food restaurants won't do this. We really appreciate this and thank the staff.

Super friendly, fast and my order is always correct. Great prices. 2 adults 1 kid for roughly $20. Chips are always fresh and the horchata is the BEST!

I used to eat there at least 3 times a month. I was there about 2 weeks ago and it has not changed any that I can see. The food is still some of the best that I have ever had. The service is always excellent. The wait staff is always very nice and helpful. I think that the prices are reasonable also. I really like their Texas Fajitas

Out finishing some Christmas shopping and we stopped in on a whim. Amazing food my kids can be a bit picky and have snubbed many restaurants but not this one. They enjoyed everything. We will definitely be back.

Food was delicious, fresh, hot and all that I hoped for, the soda was perfect, the atmosphere was nice, server was kind and fast, and place was clean!!!! As well portions were big and price was fair.

Best Mexican restaurant around town! Salsa is amazing with great flavor and spice. The agave special is wonderful!! With plenty for 2 people!!

Best Authentic Mexican food that I have had in a long time. Went there for lunch while waiting for a doctor's appointment. So surprised! It was excellent, not expensive, and our server did an amazing job. Paid attention and was courteous!

It has been a while since we’ve eaten at El Som at Sherwood. We were blown away by the food and service. The chips tasted homemade, and the salsa was great. Our entrees were very well prepared with quality ingredients. We also enjoyed the quieter environment. Great job El Som!

I moved a few months ago, and this place is the only thing I miss about Gainesville. Highly recommended.

We found this place by accident and could not be more happy that we did! It was awesome! The food was just what we were looking for in this area (we are not local but here a bit). Our server, Devon I think, was so helpful and attentive! We will be back!

Saw this place and immediately craved a Margarita. Got greeted and seated quickly with our party of 7. Rafael, our server, promptly came, greeted us and brought our menus and chips. Chips where nice, fresh & hot. Texas Margarita where on point! Delicious! The food came pretty fast also and it was awesome. And Rafael took care of us all the time. Very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend it!
