Our Family Doctor

I’ve had great experiences with this practice. I currently see Dr Irvine and appreciate all of her help with my medical issues. She is extremely knowledgeable and a great Dr. The front desk staff as well as support staff are always polite and helpful. When insurance did not cover something Dr Irvine had requested for me, someone from the practice called me immediately to let me know and helped me with what to do regarding contacting my insurance company to see if they might cover the same device from a different manufacturer. I was successful at getting it covered and thought that the staff had gone above and beyond to help me. I’m grateful to have the medical and logistical support of all the folks at this practice and really appreciate them.

I have been seeing Doctor Schwab
For about 18 years. She has taken very good care of my health. Even the smallest things concerning my health, she would address that. I’ve come to know her not only as my Doctor but a friend who would stop ANYWHERE I might be to say Hi. It’s hard to find that, even close friends sometimes.
When I came to her 18 years ago, she took over ALL my meds from previous Doctors, I have chronic pain, mostly back pain from a life of hard work. She took over managing my Pain meds and has NEVER questioned me about it because I give her no reason to. I follow Drs Orders and am willing to come in ANYTIME to prove I don’t cheat on ANY of my meds. It’s hard to find a Doctor like her. After each visit with her, I ALWAYS get a BIG hug. Not so much during the Hight of Covid. I HIGHLY recommend her to anyone.
The Staff at Our Family Doctor are always professional and very kind to me. If I call with an issue about my prescriptions or any other health related issue, they get it taken care of. I would not want any other Primary Doctor.
I HIGHLY recommend ( Our Family Doctor ) and they live up to that name, they are the Best.

I've had nothing but excellent care from Dr. Irvine. She is very compassionate, knowledgeable and responsive.

Their web portal was transformed a couple of years back and is now an easy to navigate tool. I send a message and I get a response within 24 hours (often before end of day).

If you are looking for a new general practice, then this is a very good choice.

I'm surprised at so many negative reviews? I am a retired RN, with several health issues and have been a patient of Our Family Doctor and Dr. Jodi Schwab for twenty years. In that time I have seen every doctor in the practice. I have never had an issue with any of the doctors or staff. The nurses and doctors are compassionate and dedicated. OFD doctors are some of the most holistic in this area, yet they are always aware of the latest evidence based medical practices.

I have been going here for over 10 years this is one of the best family practices I have encountered. They are top notch

I have been bringing my kids to this practice for years, and I am always pleased with the care we receive. Dr. Preston is incredible! My 2 youngest kids have had to have special concerns addressed, and she has gone above and beyond to facilitate referrals and make sure we are receiving the best care possible. She has taken the time to listen to my concerns and validate my intuition when I felt something was not quite right. I appreciate her so much and will recommend her to anyone looking for an excellent family doctor!

And yes, the office staff needs work. They are not always efficient, organized, or even friendly, but I'm willing to deal with that in order to receive quality medical care when I see the doctors.

I've been going to this practice for several years and everyone I've dealt with has been kind and helpful. They're very understanding and have never forced any unnecessary tests or medication. I don't know if they would claim to be practitioners of Health At Every Size but they've never made me feel bad about my weight and didn't bat an eye when I declined to be weighed.

I've had excellent care at Our Family Doctor for years. I can't say enough about Dr. Preston - her level of care, professionalism, and concern is exemplary. When a same-day appointment is needed and Dr. Preston is not available, I've found the other doctors in the practice to be both kind and competent. I'm glad to have found this practice.

My experiences with the staff have also been very good, very polite and professional. I really appreciate the patient portal, where I can ask my Dr. a quick question to determine whether or not an appointment is appropriate. Saves me time, aggravation, and money. Highly recommended. My wife feels the same way about Dr. Vieages at this practice.

The staff at this office are ALWAYS, thorough and kind! Every nurse, provider and staff I’ve seen there has been wonderful.

Dr. Polansky is the sweetest doctor! She’s caring, thorough, and very well educated on what is going on in the healthcare world in Asheville! She has been my doctor for many years. She also sees one of my daughters! We adore her!

I have experienced this practice both as a professional and later as a patient. I know them to be passionate and principled, and I trust them. And believe me, as a nitpicky nurse I don't say that lightly! Dr. Vieages is excellent at meeting me where I'm at and approaching my care in a way that works for me. We have a nerdy good time problem-solving the puzzle that is my body! When I use the patient portal I hear back from her that day unless, of course, it is her day off. The nursing assistants who room me are consistently kind and good listeners. The lab staff are friendly and so good at their work that I look forward to seeing them. I agree that the front desk staff used to be not the best a few years ago, but that has gotten better in the past couple of years. I truly appreciate the herculean effort Our Family Doctor puts in to provide excellent care despite the incredible strain the medical reimbursement system puts on small independent practices in this day and age. Asheville is very fortunate to have them, and I recommend them wholeheartedly!

Dr. Preston is amazing. She remembers details from my life from one visit to the next, and always seems to genuinely enjoy seeing her patients. I tend to worry a lot about minute things and she always puts me at ease. I've seen others in this office, too, and they were equally as kind and professional, but for me Dr. Preston is the best. I highly recommend her.

I am so thankful for Our Family Doctor! I have been a patient of Dr. Ananda Vieages for years and she is truly an amazingly caring and excellent doctor! I have an unusually complicated medical situation and Dr. Vieages is so thorough with my care and compassionate in every way. The other doctors I've seen on occasion when I had an urgent need at a time when Dr. Vieages was not available have also taken good care of me, too, and the staff is efficient and pleasant. Asheville is very fortunate to have this exceptionally wonderful medical practice here!

I love Dr Schwab. She has been a god sent with my last aliment. She was the one that helped me nail down some solutions and healing. None of the specialist I went to really helped. She is the absolute best.
