My, husband, son and I spent four days here for spring break, we had a water view space, and the sound of the waterfall was so peaceful. Great hiking a spots especially Crabtree falls, table by the lake perfect for scrabble, very peaceful. Both the sites and the golf cart rentals are very reasonably priced, the only negative was the laundry facilities near our site were not hooked up, staff was great! We had a great time definitely coming back! Dog friendly! Fire pit is kind of small but 10/10 would recommend

My family and friends (12 of us) just stayed at Bear Den Spacious Skies for a week. We rented 4 pull through sites and a tent site. The group rate was very reasonable. We arrived after hours and the check in process was hassle free. During our stay, we took the kids to the bounce ballon but it was closed. We ran into the manager who listened to me vent about their hours and she was then gracious enough to turn it back on for a brief period of time so the kids could have fun. All of the campground employees were very nice and accommodating. Thank you for a wonderful experience and we will see you next year.

Great place for camping with little ones! You really don’t even need to leave the campground because they have everything you would need at the front entrance store. There’s water, electricity (bring extension cords and power outlets) and we used Christmas lights to light the campsite since we were tenting. If I could give it a 10 star I would! The only downside, if it’s even considered one, was the waterfall to the lake wasn’t on. We will be back next year!

This is a great campground! It is tucked away just off the Blue Ridge Parkway but is well maintained with all the amenities you could hope for.

This was our second trip to Bear Den, we went last year for the first time, had such a great time we had to go back again this year. I couldn’t recommend this place enough, especially if you have kids. Bathrooms are clean and tidy! They have many different options for budget and comfort. We are going back every year from now on!

We had an amazing experience staying in the Mount Villa cabin. It was nestled into the campsite so we easily walked the trails and had access to the jumping pillow & camp store. The fall color was gorgeous. The cabin was clean with fresh linens/towels. The drive in on the Blue Ridge Parkway was breathtaking.

Beautiful camping cabins, wonderful staff, and clean restrooms! They have arcade games in a play area but these are typically out of order or take the money. That's ok, you're here to enjoy the gorgeous scenery! My second year visiting this campsite and will definitely return!

We recently stayed a 2nd time at Bear Den. We loved every minute. The bathhouses are clean, easy to get to, and frequently empty. Everyone camping was so friendly. This trip we hiked 2 of the trails on the property and they were awesome! Cascade trail takes you to a beautiful waterfall. The white trail gave a good workout and takes you to fantastic views of Table Rock and surrounding areas. It was so nice to not have to drive to the trailhead. There is more than one Ingles market close by to stock up and the campground store has most anything you would have forgotten. Staying right off of the parkway is also such a treat! Wish we were still there!

We camped here for our 40th anniversary. An absolute gem of a place. Set in the beautiful Smokey Mtns. The grounds are very hilly. You are in the mtns. They rent golf carts to help you get around if needed. Walking trails & cart trails within the campground. Do be mindful of yellow jackets. We got stung on the trail to the waterfall. But you are in the great outdoors. The grounds are very well maintained. The bath houses are older but very clean. A very family oriented place with plenty to keep kiddos entertained. But the best thing of all is the friendly, helpful staff and camp hosts. I want to give a big shout out and thank you to John who helped us out with a black tank problem. We enjoyed our week long stay and will definitely be coming back.

We love our stay here. Right off the blue ridge parkway and the golf cart rental made it easy to explore. They even have little trails all over you can ride on.

Bear Den is a fantastic campground. If you love to hike, it is perfect as there are several trails that start on property. One leads to a picturesque waterfall and another to a beautiful overlook. This is a large campground, but all sites are well shaded and despite the size, you still feel like you’re in the middle of the woods. The location is also incredibly convenient to downtown Spruce Pine and Burnsville.

We loved our first stay at Bear Den! However we missed the turn off the parkway into the campground. Be on the lookout for the road because if you pass it there is really nowhere for 3-4miles to turn around. Private sites with plenty of shade. Many easy pull- through level sites good for big campers. Nice recreation room with skeet ball, basketball and video games. 2 playgrounds that I saw, volleyball and basketball court. Hiking Trails could use a little work, several trees down. Definitely will be back!

Overall great! I like the fact that RV, tent, and cabin sites are all close to each other, made our small-group camping a bit nicer. The hike to the waterfall is intermediate, but awesome.

Biggest downsides for us are: (1) the road is not paved(only high slope areas are paved), thus it gets dusty everytime someone drives by. (2) No general leveled grass area(for voleyball net, frisbe, etc) (3) area A, restroom a bit far away if your site is close to an enterance.

Magical place for hiking and mountain biking. It has, I believe, four beautiful trails. Some are a bit rough. One small children’s playground, basketball court, a pond with fish, washer and drier next to the restrooms, small shop with essentials. This is an amazing spot for a family vacation, nature study, fresh air and exploring mountains + forest. Birds, bears, waterfalls and absolutely gorgeous nature!
The staff is very friendly. They escorted us to our camping spot and even helped to back up our RV.
Great spot!

Really beautiful campground, clean, well kept, good gift shop. Friendly staff. Appreciated washer/dryer available at each bathhouse. Close to Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls, The Orchard at Altapass. Would love to stay here again!

Great campground & friendly staff! The sites are clean and well maintained. Nearly all sites have good shade. Sites are nicely spaced apart. Neighbors were friendly. Good selection of trails to hike right in the campground.
