Good ambience and cottage feel restaurant. Got to know this is the original first restaurant set up by owner by combining two houses to facilitate the food and dining services. We had chicken & pancakes, Chilaquiles and Cuban Pork Benedict in two occasions, it’s so good!Server is polite, enthusiastic and attentive. Food is tasty and good portion too. There is only limited parking space available nearby the restaurant. Have to drive a little further to find more parking lots. The place is dog friendly too as diners can enjoy their food at the outdoor tables too. Will visit the restaurant again.

This adorable cafe is a military favorite due to its close proximity to the historic Camp Mabry Austin base as well as its love of pancakes from the service members. Parking is purely street but plenty of it. You don’t have to worry about paid street parking here. So that’s a relief. Upon walking in, everything is made of wood with the walls being covered in Austin inspired art by local artists. The lighting is indoor lighting so not very bright but bright enough to where you can make out the food and faces of those your enjoying your meal with. The wait staff is very attentive. This place gets packed in the morning because their breakfast items are all from scratch and packed full of flavor. I had gotten their buttermilk pancake platter which featured 2 thick and hearty buttermilk pancakes, a sausage and 2 eggs over easy! The butter milk pancakes were truly the main character of this meal! Absolutely can tasted the caramelized butter that has melted throughout each pancake. Just a hint of cinnamon made these classic cakes go over the top! I ate every last bite of my meal! I’ll be back for another round but I’ll try their cinnamon bun pancakes next!!!! Can’t wait!

What a delightful restaurant! Kerbey Lane…whose original location is on that particular city street—has grown to 10 locations, and is still very much a local fave. From comfort foods to a handful of innovative items, they’ve got something for every appetite and dietary preference.
I went with the Broccolini Sandwich, which was vegan-friendly and swimming in delicious cashew “cheese.” If I didn’t know better, I would swear it was a traditional cheesy sauce. My sandwich also came with abundant fries, and I was happily full.

I love the coffee-cup-on-a-pole out front. It screams “Come in here now!” Austin is swimming with many innovative independent cafes, and Kerbey Lane is among the best.

If you're gonna go to Kerbey Lane, go to the original. Dog friendly. Beautiful building, location and gorgeous crape myrtle trees. The food is great, well priced and the staff is very responsive and genuinely sincere. The parking can be a bit hard to find, but definitely worth a short walk if you can't find anything street side.

This is the original location of an Austin based chain. Come for the pancakes stay for the true Austin casual hospitality.
My daughter adores the hot cocoa here.
My son is pancake king. I love the omelets, the chicken tortilla soup ( hold the chips and corn), and queso.

The parking is less than ideal. God speed on that. Sometimes you can grab a street spot.

This is Austin’s iteration on a diner. There is something here for everyone.q

I am late in posting this review. Over a year ago, my dog, Misty, and I stopped in to eat. She had just been to the cardiologist and they had fitted her with a vest and electrodes. I was pretty upset and worried about her. She was her normal, joyful, loving self. The staff were so kind to us. And, at the end of the meal the manager said it was on the house. I was so stunned, started crying, and then forgot to tip the server (which I still feel horrible about- if I lived in Austin, I would have gone back). This will remain a bright spot in my memory of those terrible days leading up to Misty’s passing, so thank you.

Went in for lunch after a rough morning when I learned that my friend with cancer was no longer with us.

Our server went above and beyond to make me feel better and I am beyond thankful for Erica (hope I spelled it correctly).

I'm glad there are still good people in the world, and that I found one at my favorite restaurant when I needed it the most.

I was leaving the doctor’s office and decided to stop by at Kerbey Lane Cafe on Kerbey Lane to enjoy breakfast. Parking is an issue here where have to rely on street parking and pay attention to the many complex city street parking signs. I need up finding on the street but even still nervous about laving my vehicle there.

This is the original located residing in an old house and greeted nicely when I entered. I was seated at a table and ordered coffee. They have a wonderful selection of breakfast choices and zeroed on the American Classic. You some options and I selected scrambled eggs, bacon, artisan toast and black beans.

This place a historic ambiance where feels like old Austin. I was very comfortable which drinking my coffee. Soon my eggs arrived and they tasted very good. It was a lot of food compared what usually I eat but enjoyed it all.

Staff is great, the local artwork on the walls is always fun to look at, the food never disappoints, and the proportions are great for the price. A true Austin staple. Cowboy queso always a must have.

Delicious, friendly service, and quaint atmosphere. Would have given 5 stars on food as our entrees were excellent, but we had a side chocolate chip pancake that was hard to find more than 5 or 6 chips, which made it a bit of a let down compared to the rest. Overall, 5 stars and would go again.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place.

Food --> Delicious, both the "regular" items and the "seasonal" items. Order the Eggs Francisco!
Cost --> Very fair for what you get
Portions --> Reasonable (not too much, not too little)
Service --> Fast, polite, and attentive. Even if you come on a Sunday or super busy time, they are good at getting people in and out fast

Best Diner in Austin.

Host was not nice. He literally threw our cutlery on the table and left.

Other than that..
FOOD was GREAT! I had the avocado fried tacos.

Waiter was really nice as well. Nice casual date option. Nice ambiance.

The original Kerbey Lane is an Austin essential and will forever serve up mighty fine brunches. Pancakes are their signature and it shows. Each pancake variety is well cooked and enormous. The seasonal specials are worth noting because that's where the creativity shines. So visit twice. The first visit should be for a brunch staple, and the second visit should be for a seasonal dish. Skip anything Tex-Mex, always get the queso.

Kerbey Lane Cafe is one of the BEST places to visit with your dog(s) in Austin. Not only is the customer service superb, but the food is freakin' delicious. It's an A+ in my book.

The first and foremost thing that Kerbey Lane has provided us with was superb customer service. All of the staff members we have interacted with was so kind and generous. Upon arrival, they provided water for us and our dogs. Most of the staff members came out, provided bacon treats for our dogs (after asking for approval), and spent some time with them. This was such a nice gesture because our dogs love and need more interactions with different people.

Moving on to their delightful appetizers and entrees -- we ordered Tamarind Glazed Brussels, Crispy Chicken Benedict, and Eggs Francisco. Everything was *chef's kiss*. The Eggs Francisco was exceptionally good, as well as their Tamarind Glazed Brussels. I'm pretty sure everything else on their menu is tasty and delightful.

Kerbey Lane Cafe was such a nice place to visit. We were greeted with warm smiles, and we weren't seated closely to other people. Everything was great -- I have ZERO complaints about this place. I highly recommend a visit or two!

Have you looked at the size of their pancakes?? I've been here once that's located in Central Austin and I loved it. One of the best eatery places.

DELICIOUS CHICKEN & PANCAKES! Yummy coffee. Definitely try their queso, it's amazing! The fish and chips were great too! It's a relaxed diner atmosphere, totally hipster vibes, I love it! Shout out to our waitress Taliana who was a great server!

Our server was top notch. She was attentive, friendly, prompt, and accurate. The atmosphere here feels friendly and accepting, with high energy. I tried the chicken and pancakes. It's a combination I'm not accustomed to, but I won't fault the restaurant for my choice of menu item. The place is a little cramped, but that's not a bad thing because in the end I believe it adds to the close/friendly atmosphere. Drop by here for brunch if you're in Austin.
