This is my neighborhood store and I feel lucky that I live so close. Their selection of beverages is amazing, and once they know your favorites they try to make sure it's always in stock for you. The staff is top -notch. Awesome chocolate selection and decent assortment of groceries if you can't get to your regular grocery store. The gas pumps are usually all taken so I wish they had more of them but it's not a deal-breaker because the store itself makes up for it.

This place has to have one of the most awesome selection of beers in all of Austin. Buy by the bottle or create your own.

It has the feel of a NYC grocery store with the shelves stacked to the brim with pretty much everything you could need. Obviously not going to be a fully-stocked store, but you can get a little of everything, from candles, to ice cream, to tools, to well...beer. And lots of it.

Super nice owners are the cherry on top.

Five stars to this place. It’s like.....a mall/market in a small store? Yet it does looks big when you walk in. For ice cream lovers.....come to here if you want decent price for top rated local ice cream to take home to. Very international diversity. Again, it’s mall.....it has tools, Foods, condiments, from water to beers includes coffee. Beers and wine options UT students might get overwhelmed? Easy to pick, maze feeling in some way but go there few times and you will know your spot. Cashier is very friendly and patient. I expected my check to arrive in my bank, as I swiped for a ice cream, ignorantly it hasn’t arrived yet, cashier said it’s ok. Come back next time. So much for cold cashiers, this one is very generous!!!! Waste your gas, waste your time and energy search general things you want IF you don’t come here....perfect to grab ice cream after break up with your ex on way to home or UT. Come here or it’s your loss!

I love this place. I think I could end the review by simply saying this is the Toy Joy of convenience stores. You're either going to love it or you're simply not going to get it at all.

Let's dispense with the complaints. Yes, it's overpriced compared to a large retailer like HEB or Spec's. It's a convenience store, what do you expect? You're paying for the fact that it's a small place, close to home, that you can get in and out of quickly. No, it's not as polished as some of the larger corporate owned stores you're used to seeing. It's a small mom and pop style operation in the middle of a neighborhood. Some people are really expecting too much.

Now, let's talk about what they get right.

One, they are constantly improving the store. When I first started going here, it was two simple pumps and the main draw was that they had the cheapest gas in town. Reliably, consistently (and it's still really cheap). Then they expanded the beer selection. Then they put in four pumps because the lines were so long. Then they became an actual Shell branded store. Now they're expanding the store and adding more refrigerators and more shelf space. I'm used to seeing stores like this just sit on their laurels and slowly go down over time, with maybe one or two half-assed remodels over time to address seriously glaring faults until the store finally goes bankrupt and someone else starts over.

The beer selection really can't be beat, and it seems to expand every time I'm in there. Plus, where else can you mix and match your own six pack with such a selection of microbrews? No, it's not cheap, but it's not unreasonably priced either.

There's also a fine selection of gourmet chocolates where most stores would just have Milky Ways and Hershey bars. Dig around and there's something unique and interesting around every corner. It's the only place I buy gas and I often go in just to talk to the shop owners. It's the best neighborhood store I've ever had in any of the various neighborhoods I've lived in.

Here's the deal, point me to a better neighborhood convenience store in Hyde Park. Or just about anywhere, really. I'll wait.

When I need to find a limited release or obscure beer, this is my first stop. Beer prices are a little higher than other markets, but that's the price you pay for a great selection. I'm still bitter about the switch from a flat-rate build-your-own 6-pack to individually priced beers, but I can't stay mad at Flag Store. I love it too much.

One of the greatest convenience stores around central austin! The staff are super nice and they have a huge selection of beer, wine, and ciders. There's also quite a large food and frozen goods selection so it's a great one stop shop for anything you need. I love dropping by to pick up random things and generally just browse around.

I'm from a small town in Louisiana And grew up on hunt brother pizza I searched them out in Austin And was not disappointed. If you're in the area you gotta stop and try it but you must call ahead. My favorite is the thin crust and they don't skimp on the toppings!!

This low-profile convenience store attached to a Shell gas station may just have the best beer selection in the entire city. Hundreds of single bottles, which you can combine to form the perfect 4 or 6 pack. Everything from $2 Sam Adams IPAs to $4 Hitachino, Dogfish and any other foreign or domestic micro-brew you can think of. Everything is stored cold, so it's a perfect place to grab something that will be consumed within minutes. I've also never seen a store with a better selection of chocolate covered pretzels, nuts, fruit, and anything else that can be covered in chocolate.

Prices are high, but to be expected at a convenience store. Beer selection is even better than the shell at burnet and north loop. Spent 20 minutes just looking while I'm poor. Will probably spend an hour in here with spare funds. 3 thumbs up.

This place is the best! Literally everything your heart could desire from can openers to vegan cheese and wines.... I know I shouldn't get this excited over a gas station market... But it is freaking awesome in here. Like Disney without the lines!

Every time I even think about buying Bud Light here I feel guilty, because they have possibly the greatest selection of beers in town. Serpentine rows of beers writhe off in strange directions far into the distance, more bottles than seems physically possible. Each new turn in the labyrinth (labeerinth?) reveals new hard-to-find gems, and even to exit the maze you're confronted with yet more sections of goodies - artisanal chocolates, wacky products, gourmet sandwiches, and the like.

This place is too expensive to visit regularly (you're a fool if you buy Bud Light here), but if you're looking for an off-beat Dogfish Head vintage and nowhere else seems to have it, Hyde Park might be your best bet.

First time there and I will definitely be a repeat customer. Mohan (shop owner?) was a pleasure to talk to and the coffee and toasted gourmet sandwich was out of this world.

Not your typical mini mart. A little cluttered, but a shocking selection of high quality local beer (and other things too)
