I almost hate posting this review because this is the best kept secret in Austin! I was able to stay in the DV quarters for $125 p/n. The regular lodging is still closed for renovation. Our party had four rooms in building 45 which is a historic building. Rooms were very large with nice furniture. My only suggestion would be to upgrade the towels. Rafael was extremely helpful in getting my DV party squared away with everything we needed! We’ll be back for sure!

Don't be frightened off by the bad reviews. No, it's not the Hilton. It's not even the Motel 6. It's bare bones Army style lodging. But it's $30 tax free just minutes from downtown Austin. If you want nicer, the La Quinta is right down the road for 5x the price.

Great price and friendly staff. Clean rooms. Room included a Tv, Mico wave and fridge.

I’m retired Air Force and very particular...used to having whatever is close to the “best”. I’ve stayed at Camp Mabry a few times, one of those times was with my equally picky and visiting mom.

Altogether, our accommodations were safe and sound. My last stay was 12/2019. Were the quarters at the level of what I’m used to with Air Force base lodging? 😄...let’s not be ridiculous, of course not, but it suit our basic needs and, I knew what to expect, especially for $30/night. Overall, we were happy with the friendly staff and our stay. When back in ATX, we will be doing it again! 😇

A good place to stay. TV, wifi, a shower and a bed. You can't go wrong.

The last time I stayed here (2014), the room was $25. It is now $60, with absolutely ZERO upgrade despite a 140% price hike. The room was in fact, dirty, especially the tile floor, which was sticky and grimy. Honestly I wouldn't mind the price hike if they were to wash the damn floor, but I suppose sixty bucks isn't enough dough to get the linoleum mopped. Lame and annoying and frankly, dishonest.

I had mold in my room and it was filthy when I got here. The other point is when I arrived as well as my other class mates was that they don’t care. My other classmates where actually kicked out during drill weekend even though my classmates were out of State and had to go find other motels until drill weekend was over. Back to me and my situation. My room was either 65 degrees or 90 degrees since you couldn’t control your own thermostat. Get a SNA if you can even if it’s a hassle with traffic here.

BLUF not worth $70. The quality of the furnishings has improved since my last stay. They have moved to a more rustic looking stained wood theme. The Televisions are antiquated 28” flatscreens, but at least they are 1080p. The staff are really friendly and will do everything in their means to make your stay comfortable. I emphasize “in their means” because the biggest downside to these rooms are they get HOT, and there’s nothing the staff can do to fix that besides give you a standing floor fan. You see the air conditioning is centrally controlled, so the thermostats in each room are only used to see how bad it is. It was pretty difficult to fall asleep in a room that was 80 degrees at night with no air flow. Given the lack of amenities, poor environmental control quality, and overall cheap motel feel, I wouldn’t pay over $50 for this room in the future.

If you have other options, please take them. Upon making reservations we were "upgraded" to E8 and above lodging. For some reason I thought this may mean nicer... Not the case. Other than trashcans emptied, I don't think the room had been cleaned, the bed was like sleeping on a concrete slab. No fitted sheet only a flat sheet spread over the top so during the night, this slides around and you wake on a bare mattress. Upon check in our reservations were wrong, and the poor gal who tried her best to be nice (but didn't succeed) just said no, you can't have your 3rd night.. I said "my" third night was reserved over a month ago. They were able to change things around. Due to the condition of the room we ended up leaving early. Oh, and the icing on the cake was "no, in the "house" there is no wifi, sorry". Seriously? I might mention we are not high maintenance people, we stay in lodges all the time. I've never seen anything like this. The only "pro" is location. Camp Mabry is is in a very convenient location in Austin.

Avoid this place at all cost!!! The rooms are infested with bed bugs!!! I ATTEMPTED to stay in one of the rooms and was attacked by bed bugs as soon as I layed on the bed. I started looking around the room and it was clear the ENTIRE room was infested with bed bugs. I ended up sleeping in my car in the parking lot.

I called them on May 1, 2020 to see how much a single or double bed was for enlisted. They told me their rates went up from $30 to $60 a night. This went into effect in March 2020. The rates on the website still say $30.

Incorrect office hours for Lodging on your website shows Office Hours: Sun-Fri 7:30 a.m.-10:15 p.m.; Sat 8:00 a.m.-10:15 p.m. But when you call it's different.
