If you can make it by on a week day I recommend doing this for the solitude. It was very quiet, serene, and relaxing for my family to come on a week day after school is back in session. Well maintained space with plenty of shade, adequate restrooms + showers. Bring a picnic. No glass, of course. And make sure your pups are leashed and don't get into the swimming area.

I had a fun time swimming here, water was cool and refreshing. I came on a Wednesday and we got in without a problem, but you do need reservations on the weekend.
I did notice a lot of fire ants ! So be careful with your littles, try to put your stuff on a bench table if possible, stuff was crawling on our blanket. Besides that it was nice and shady under the tree, lots of pretty shells to look at!

A Wonderful lake, we spent some hours there, it was amazing, it was a great day for swimming, a lot of families were there enjoying their day, the kids was so happy to play with sand and swim, it’s a great place I really recommend it, don’t hesitate to go there.

Just buy your tickets online, and go early morning to find we’re to park 👍

My favorite park of all time. It has so many fun things to do like biking, volleyball, and even swimming. I definitely recommend going here at least once because it is worth it.

Very nice park! Went for a swim day with my friends and we brought our tubes. So nice clean water and great views. There is a $5 day entering fee which is pretty reasonable in my opinion. Nice bathrooms and showers. Great place to spend the day with friends and family or to even grill or have a picnic.

My favorite park in Austin. They have restrooms, plenty of trash cans, tables, grills, and a little tiny beach/pier. Views are beautiful. I've only been on a weekday and the crowds are pretty thin any of space to have your own picnic area and water area. Weekends are probably a completely different story.

Nice city park. They have grills but come early on the weekend if the weather is nice because people come early and claim the spots with grills. They have campsites you can reserve and picnic tables for day use. You can swim in their beach area or along the river.

Love how this place has a small area sectioned off for swimming. The wake from the boats makes it like a natural wave pool. Lots of parking when its not busy. Enough trails to come back more than once. I look forward to returning to camp. Two boat ramps. Boat traffic might make the waters a bit choppy for beginners in kayaking or paddle boarding.

Great lake! Went 6/22/22. Was pretty cold, but felt amazing since it's already so hot in June. Puppy loved it too and enjoyed swimming to help cool off! Lots of people riding boats in the water which created nice little waves! There's also alot of shaded areas to sit under near the water. Thankfully the park wasn't too full and parking was easy and close for the weekday. The water was also clean. Definitely check this place out! 🤍

After the ice storm, we had a glorious 74° sunny day (gotta love TX weather), so I took my young kids and small dog to go on a "nature walk"/hike. My kids requested this spot in particular because we went on Christmas day 2021, and they went one other time with friends. We all enjoyed it, and they liked walking in the water (though they said it was freezing - go figure lol). The kids and the dog napped on the way home, so I'd say that's a success!

We got there around 12ish and it was pretty full. Lovely place to take the kids for bday party or party in general. Spacious. Make sure to bring your own equipment for bbqs. And everything for a day trip to the lake. Also make sire to purchase your ticket in advance as they sell out.

An amazing area for a day trip to bbq with friends and family. I only paid $5 for entry of one vehicle (Monday to Thursday is $5 I believe). There is also more than enough space for camping if you want to stay the night. There is also a bathroom and wash area that is kept very clean!

If you’re looking for a nice nature detour to relax with friends, definitely plan a visit!

amazing park with beautiful flora And animals. We enjoy watching the squirrels climbing up the tree. The air here is super fresh and gives a nice break from the headaches of living in a big city.

Very relaxing place, nice big park, recommend!
Too many portable bathrooms everywhere though, tacky looking, degrading the scenery. I don't know why park creators do not consider that, I see this a lot. (& I would never step foot in one, don't even use them) A park is supposed to be scenic & pretty not look like a construction site...still a great park to visit. (Please do not use fire pits as trash cans, especially plastic waste, goes in a recycling bin, not a fire pit, thanks ya'll)

I’ve been here multiple times for camping and just to hang out during the day. This park is absolutely incredible. The water is just as cold as Barton Springs and there is tons of space to swim or have a picnic or place and volleyball. It’s also 25 minutes from Austin so it’s a perfect distance to get into nature and get away from the city.

Great place. The water is nice for swimming. The water doesn't get deep right away. Cool under the trees. Best place to go in Texas heat.

Had an awesome time yet again. This is the second year I have come here. Restroom is well taken care of. Staff is amazing. Their small beach is perfect. They also have a boat ramp as well. Took my little one fishing on the bank..Only complaint is that other campers don't understand what quite hours are and boundaries at sites.

My family loves this place! It's our go-to every summer, to get together with friends and have lazy days on the water. Beautiful trees, picnic areas, even camping and RV spots.

Love love love this place. A friend of ours introduced us to it, it was a delightful day in the sun. Things to note: beach has very little shady places (but that’s kind of obvious for beaches) so bring sun protection. There are a lot of trees to set up under but they’re a little further up shore. Water was REALLY cold at beginning of June but you get used to it.

Biggest note: google gps will tell you that you’ve arrived about two-three miles before you get to the actual beach park. It told me I arrived when Park City Rd intersects with the motorcycle trail, with a big sign, so it’s easy to go “oh I guess this is it” *turns left* This isn’t a critique on the park, more of a quibble with the gps. But just be aware and you’ll be fine. (Easiest directions would be “take park city allll the way straight to the end, no turns. You’ll arrive at a park entrance with a $5 electronic ticket machine.”)

Highlights: watching the water fowl, bouncing around in the water in the boats’ wake. They’re far away but the waves hit the beach and it’s fun. Several docks to jump off, and ladders to climb back up. Roped off sections for differing deepness. Plenty of room for blankets and play, plenty of parking, even when busy.

We will definitely add this to our “frequent summer fun” list!
