Record Swap

I had bought a vinyl that I was having trouble with playing on my record player. After returning to the store with the vinyl, they had gotten it to work on their record player, offered and sold me a record player and vinyl cleaning kit, and gave me many suggestions as to how to improve my vinyl listening experience at home. I got home and used the cleaning kit, and sure enough, I listened to the whole vinyl with no problems (for those curious it was Arctic Monkey's AM). Every employee I talked too, I specifically remember Andrew, were very helpful and I would highly recommend checking this store out if you are at all interested in vinyls, cds, dvds, etc.

Fantastic record store. I was here on 5/12/23 before lunchtime and the person working here was super friendly and helpful. I found the vinyl I was looking for and the individual working here helped me find what I was looking for. I drove from the Chicago area and would drive down here again just for the record store. Highly recommended.

Best record store in the CU area and best I have ever been to. Bob is a knowledgeable guy and has a great music taste and selection. Derek is also a really chill guy. Although they can be a bit pricey, their selection is second to none and is well organized. Their $1 bin can also have some gems in it. I would highly recommend this store.

The vibe is real when you walk in here. I've been collecting for a few years now and every time I walk into record swap, I leave with some new sounds to enjoy. Easily the best record store in Urbana. Hopefully with the mall connected hotel being restored it will bring in more business.

This is a great store. Has records that I've looked for quite a while for. Not a lot of recird stores out there & their staff is knowledgeable and helpful...will look for albums I couldn't find in the store & they did have them. Got a western flute cd for my dog too....she likes flute music. Lol

This shop is terrific. The owner knows everything about music, from African to pop. There is a huge number of vinyl and CD recordings that make staying there for an hour inevitable. Knowledgeable staff and good prices make Record Swap my go-to place for the rare and off-beat, as well as the common, old, and fun stuff

This store is MASSIVE. I swear if you were looking for the most obscure band you would find it. Best record store I have ever been to. They also have a huge $1 record section with great albums (I got dean martin, lionel richie, and 2 bee gees for $1 each) Definitely recommend!!!!!!!

Great old school record shop right next door to one of my favorite cinemas, The State Theater. They have a wide selection for such a small shop, with reasonable prices, plus a friendly and knowledgeable staff. I would recommend them to everyone and anyone who collects vinyl.

I had read the other review prior to coming into Record Swap today, and I realized something. The review prior to mine was obviously written by someone who works for Exile trying to slam another record store.

Exile is not a bad spot. This is not a slam statement. This is a review.

The guy at this store is simply amazing, and takes quite an intrest in his customers! He knows his music, knows what is in the store and great with conversation!

The selection is incredible! This is the first real record shop I've seen in Illinois outside of Chicago.

The prices are perfectly fair, unlike the review before. It was honestly misleading. My experience was the exact opposite from what was said before.

If your looking to do some serious digging, in a loaded store, this place is a gold mine. It's crazy how well it's sorted too.

The other two record stores in town are pretty good, it depends on what your looking for, but this is officially a dope spot!

Best selection of used record albums, 45s, CDs, cassette tapes, DVDs, as well as t-shirts, stickers, buttons, carrying cases, display and storage racks, turntables, stereo equipment, and much much more... in the midwest. If you can't find it, ask! Bob might have it squirreled away in the back somewhere.

People should know that this place doesn't only sell records. There's also a great selection of CDs, DVDs, and even Blu-rays. Great place for someone looking to expand their collection on the cheap.

I really enjoy looking around this record store. If it's on wax then they have it. Lots of different genres of music too. Okay prices but then that's the way vinyl is going now a days.

Such a great selection of vinyl and boxes and boxes of $1 albums. Found a cluplenI have had a hard time getting. I will be back.

Has an amazing record cassette and CD collection!!! And it has some other stuff like VHS tapes or eight tracks. It's the ultimate record store.

Definitely a local go to for used and new vinyl. Fantastic service, reasonable prices, and great selection of many hard to find records.

Nice big and bright location makes it easy to look through their large inventory. A must visit for any music lovers in the area!

Nostalgia.... What a cool store. Records records and more records...oh and CDs and cassettes.. You could flip thru albums for hours! We will definitely be back!

Lots to look at that's for sure. They have New Used and on sale items . Definitely will visit again.
