Champaign-Urbana Adventures in Time and Space

I wanted to try something new for my birthday, and CU Adventures seriously delivered. I can't recommend the Wizard's Curse enough. The puzzles were fun, rewarding, and just the right amount of challenging. The super delightful range of puzzles meant that every single person in my group of 6 was able to have their moments to shine as individuals, and it taught us a lot about what we each enjoy and excel at! It was overwhelming at first but it quickly started to flow and never felt like we were stuck without progressing.

The props were so nicely made, the room was designed in such a clever way, and all of the puzzles felt relevant and tied into the narrative. The way each element was revealed and the way our surroundings got bigger was so perfectly on theme. It was so easy to get into the world you created.

Our gamemaster was incredible. I never caught their name, but your energy and passion for the work you do really helped make this experience as fun as it could possibly be. Just the right amount of cheesy for a wizard-themed game, you matched our energy, you had a great sense of when to give hints and when to let us do our thing. We really loved that you didn't just talk to provide hints, your comedic timing was on point, and you engaged with us so easily it was like you were always part of the group!

Solving this escape room felt so satisfying. I actually felt like I accomplished something important! We had a blast and this experience completely sold escape rooms to those of us who were new to this. We will definitely be back. Thanks so much!

Our group of 5 did the Rise of the Icarus room over the weekend. We were wowed to say the least! A few of us had done rooms at Brainstorm Escapes (not talking down on them whatsoever - their rooms are so much fun), but Rise of the Icarus does not compare to any escape room that has physical locks and puzzles. It was amazing! When the staff told us it was technologically advanced, we had no idea what we were getting into. This room will challenge your critical thinking and teamwork skills in an insanely fun & advanced way.

I don’t remember the workers name, and I really really wish I did so that I could properly give her credit, because she was fantastic! We’ve done a lot of escape rooms at different places, and she was by far the best we have ever had! I can not say enough good things about her! She made our game experience 10x better!! We will most definitely be back soon!

Did the game night escape room. Super well designed, super fun, and well worth the price. Finished with 40 seconds left. Our game master was entertaining as well. All the mechanisms were super fun and kept us on our toes. I love a good boss fight.

We completed the Wizard's Curse escape room a couple of weeks ago. It was one of the most beautiful escape rooms that we've been in. Our game master, Abby, was super helpful and interactive with us throughout the room. She had very clever ways of interacting with us and letting us know if we were on the right track or not. I cannot express how cool of an experience this room was.

CU Adventures continues to offer some of the best Escape Room experiences in the country. We travel alot and have done many of them. We are lucky to have such a great option this close to home. This time we did Revenge of the Cabin, and like the other rooms here, the room, the set, special affects, and the puzzles were all very well done and lots of fun. Our game master was fantastic at giving just enough subtle clues on a couple of the more difficult puzzles, without spoiling the challenge. All Escape Room enthusiasts need to try CU Adventures. We will be going back to finish all the rooms. Thanks!

This place was great. We did Revenge of the Cabin on our way through town, then decided to go again for Rise of the Icarus on our way back. The latter was hands down the most impressive escape room I've been to, although on the more difficult side. I just love the digital puzzles over standard locks, and it was really immersive with added special effects. Highly recommend!

This was an interesting visit. Our group of 4 was 2 experienced and 2 noobs(of which I was one). The Christmas themed room was available for the time we were there. It was really fun for all.

My group of family and friends did the Calling All Villians room. It was a big room with lots of puzzles. Things made sense and we only needed one clue. We finished with time to spare and had a chance to complete a bonus puzzle. Lots of fun puzzles and everyone had a great time. Well done room and very friendly and helpful staff. My 50 escape room.

I've now played two of the escape rooms (Scrooge's Christmas Trap and Curse of the Cabin) at CU adventures and had a blast both times! The employees were super helpful and knowledgeable and really enhanced the fun. I really love the multi-room aspects and the special effects. You can really tell the game creators payed a lot of attention to the little details. The whole experience felt so immersive. Looking forward to going back again for another adventure soon!

This is a gem of an escape room and I can’t believe it took us this long to visit.
First off, 3 of our group members were running late, and I was panicked that we would have traveled an hour and a half for nothing. The worker was so kind and told us that if we arrived by the time our GPS said we would, it wouldn’t be an issue, and if we were later and someone happened to book the slot after us, we’d have to shave off time in the room, but it wouldn’t impact game play. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case, and the workers didn’t even mention our tardiness, just got us right into game mode.
We escaped Game Night, and let me tell you: this is one of the top rooms I’ve ever played. There were clue types that I hadn’t seen before, which always makes me happy, and it was fun and the perfect level of challenging. We brought a friend with no experience with D&D, and it did not decrease the joy the game gave her. This is the first time I’ve had a live actor in the room and she was AMAZING. I kept joking with her and her responses were fantastic and cheery, even though I can bet she’s heard every pun I launched her way. She knew exactly how to move our game forward without giving clues we didn’t ask for or need.
We loved it so much, we already booked Revenge of the Cabin in October, and we’ll be back to rescue Scrooge closer to the holiday season.

This place is amazing! I had never been before but loved it! The puzzles were difficult, but fun, the rooms were just the right size. The staff is great at their jobs and super friendly. Recommend everyone check it out for sure1

It was a wonderful experience with the whole family. We loved the intricacies of the puzzles, the immersive design of the room and the special effects. We played Rise of the Icarus and found it well worth the money!

Have done 3 different rooms with this company now and they are always super fun and well made. Have loved every adventure with them and can't wait to come back for more.

Just did the Cabin room with my husband and our 12 year old son and we made it out with 9 seconds to spare (lol!). It was hands down the best escape room we have ever done. It was so immersive and so much bigger than we expected but not in an overwhelming way.
Our guide was gave us just the right amount of hints and didn't just give us the answers. We can't wait to go back and try other rooms!!

CU Adventures is the best immersive escape room experience in the area! I've checked out the other competition in town and they don't compare to the stories and rooms here at CU Adventures. The staff is so welcoming and accommodating and the rooms are very well thought out. I can't wait to return and continue to check out the rest of the rooms!

I've done many escape rooms in different places and CU Adventures is certainly one of my favorites. I've done 4 of their rooms and all of them were high quality, exciting, and challenging. Staff is friendly and helpful all throughout the experience. 10/10 would recommend

Had a blast!! We took our family for our twin sons birthday. 7 people total. The staff here take good care to ensure you have a fun experience. Sarah (I hope I’m spelling that correct?) was great with us. We chose to do Game Night and it did not disappoint! We are already planning our next visit! Thanks CU Adventures!!
