I absolutely loved my stay here! It's a beautiful, boutique-like yet quaint inn, situated in a perfect location to both Kittery, ME and Portsmouth, NH. Had everything you needed, very clean, and friendly staff. Will definitely be staying here in the future.

It was a great spot! The location between Portsmouth and Kittery was amazing. The rooms were spotless. The host was so nice, they texted us and let us know the rooms were ready way before check in time. Great experience. Would stay here again. Would have loved to sit on the chairs outside and have some coffee but when we went it was a little chilly. Definitely recommend!!!

My wife and I just stayed in room 7 for 2 nights. It was absolutely awesome. Location is great, literally right across the bridge from downtown Portsmouth, and close to some nice shops in Kittery (Lil's breakfast was delicious). The room was super comfy, warm and clean, with a view of the water. We would/will stay here again.

Beautifully decorated, clean, comfortable room. Staff was available 24/7 but we had no reason to ask for anything as everything was thought of. Excellent location. Walk or short drive to downtown Portsmouth. We will definitely return next time we pass through the area.

We discovered this 8-room hotel several years ago. Perfect for 1-or 2-night micro getaways. Clean, well-appointed, and just across a walkable bridge to Portsmouth, NH. There are three great restaurants in Kittery itself within walking distance, open all winter. There are good lobster restaurants in summer as well, but we get our fill at home in Boston, an hour to the south.

Cute place right across the bridge from Portsmouth. The room was very clean and the common areas were stocked with tea, coffee, and snacks. We enjoyed sitting in the rocking chairs on the porch.

This was my second stay at Water Street Inn. I particularly commend the staff for making sure I had a roof over my head even amidst a county-wide power outage. They lodged me at The Sailmaker's House, which had power, for the first night of my stay, and kept in close touch the next morning and afternoon to assure I'd be somewhere safe for my second night. When Water Street had power again they were quick to prepare my room, so I could move in and settle for the remainder of my 4-night stay. A county-wide power outage is surely out of everyone's control, and I really appreciate the way Lexie, Tony, and everyone worked so hard to assure I had a safe place to stay. I will be back!

Had a great stay at The Water Street Inn. Rooms were excellent and self check-in/check out was a breeze. I enjoyed feeling as though we had the house to ourselves. Plenty of parking onsite and the staff we interacted with throughout our stay were very friendly. I thought the snacks, ice, fridge and board games in the common area were a nice touch. The location is directly in-between downtown Portsmouth and Kittery, and is easily walkable during the warmer seasons. A minor suggestion would be to have a microwave onsite, but our short stay exceeded our expectations.

What a surprise in Kittery! Awesome self checkin system with fully stocked coffee options. Great decor in the building and rooms in a renovated old house. Very comfortable bed - I slept well! And walking distance to Yoga East - yoga in Kittery.

What a wonderful little inn. Located on a very quiet street with a water view, we couldn’t have been more pleased. We stayed in room #7 and it was spacious and clean. Everything was just perfect. We will definitely be staying there again.

Pleasantly surprised by this place. Exceeded all expectations. Easy to book and engage. Warm, clean and very well appointed rooms. Most of all comfortable.
Location is king. Easy walk to Portsmouth and Kittery Foreside.
Definitely a repeat.

Location is so close to our many places from NH to Maine. Really cute downtown restaurants in walking distance. The easy check in and out was perfect. They kept checking via text which was a plus.

We had the best stay at the The Water Street Inn! It’s the perfect place for a cozy fall trip and couldn’t be any cuter. Just over the bridge from Portsmouth it’s close to the main shops too. We were obsessed with the decor from the lobby, our room & the bathroom too (adorable wallpaper)! Would highly recommend!

While the traditional way of checking in may work for some people, others it may not. Everything is done electronically via text, etc. it’s efficient for sure and quick. The rooms were nicely done and the place couldn’t have been quieter which was perfect. Extremely close to downtown Portsmouth so either a nice walk across the bridge or a $8.00 Uber ride. Will be back for sure.

We arrived at the Inn after a grueling overnight trip from Buenos Aires. Check in with a door code was quick and easy. The room was quiet and the comfortable bed made for a great night's sleep. The lounge area is a perfect space to relax with a hot cup of tea, or any other beverage from the large selection of offerings. The Water Street Inn is always our first choice for lodging in the Kittery/Portsmouth area. Highly recommend!

Very cute Inn well located. Easy to get in with a key code, you don’t have to worry about grabbing a key card. Clean rooms and perfect additional amenities including coffee/tea/juice/snacks down in the main lobby area. We stay in room 5, third floor. Water views are mostly of the Navel base which isn’t super cute, but I’ll still take a water view over no water view. Porch with rocking chairs was lovely to sit and read. Quick walk over the bridge and into Portsmouth. Nice to leave the car and not worry about finding parking. Would stay here again.

I can’t wait to visit again! I only had one night in my room, but it was amazing. The view was beautiful from my room! I loved how easy it was to access my room with the pin pad. Communication with the staff was great. I wish I had more time to enjoy it. I will definitely stay here again in the future!

Spectacular location with easy parking. We booked room #7, which has its own kitchen and also access to a small common area shared with room #8. From room #7, which is downstairs, the walking in room #8 is very audible, and this woke us up when they arrived at midnight. I would consider this to be the only drawback. The downtown section of Portsmouth, NH is a 12 minute walk across two bridges with nice views of the river. I highly recommend the Puddledock restaurant in Portsmouth. I recently posted a review. I'm not posting any of my own pics here since their website has great, accurate ones already.

One note: getting here from the NJ/NYC area is tough. Lots of traffic jams and bottlenecks, so pack your patience.
