My wife and I used Kearny bank for a home mortgage. It's a tough market for buyers, but we were very lucky to have Steven Veno (Mortgage Loan Officer) helping us. He was able to get us a pre-approval letter right away so we could begin seeing houses on the market and whenever we wanted to put an offer in, Steven was able to get us updated pre-approval letters ASAP. He was prompt with his responses and even responded to us on the weekends. He is very friendly, kind, patient and knowledgable. I would give 10 stars if possible. We recently closed on our new home! Please fix the issues preventing users from being able to link our Kearny accounts to other financial services, please! Or at least give us an opt-in/opt-out option on the log-in verification code. i am unable to link my account to Experian and it is impacting my credit score negatively. We depend heavily on digital banking nowadays and issues like this can be very distressing. Please fix, fix, fix.

If I could leave zero stars I would.
Worst bank ever. I went to them for this simple mortgage refinace because they offered a great rate. I think it's a bate and switch. They keep asking me for far more information then it would take to get a mortgage delaying the process and asking me for all the information again. They now have mountains of information on me and still haven't finalized the mortgage refinance. This has been going on for months.

I had accounts before with City, Chase, HSBC and Provident Bank.
I switched to get better rate on accounts and better service I expected from small bank. I was totally wrong.
I opened personal checking and business accounts almost two months ago. Till now I can’t complete online and mobile account set up. I consider myself as advanced user and work myself in software development for many years. Nothing works here as with my previous banks. If you think you just need to sign up online you are wrong. I have to call and wait while someone emails me special passwords and procedures to activate my accounts. You are happy if you call and get live rep on the phone. Most of time you have to call and record your contact info. Then wait when someone from customer support will call you back when you are right in the middle of meetings and cannot pick up the call. I already have a bunch of checks to deposit to business account but my business mobile app still wait some type of interaction with back office and nobody returned my calls from the bank.
Never had such nonsense with online or mobile systems in my life. I deeply regret that I decided to switch from Provident to Kearny.

This bank and Michael Ellis provided the worst customer service I have ever seen. Do not deal with either. Our loan application went on for months and they provided nothing of value. Asking questions that had nothing to do with our loan refi and dragging it out with numerous requests after already receiving so much of our personal data. It is very concerning that once they had all our info they did nothing to complete the loan process. Do not be fooled into giving them any of your personal information. We are two professionals with excellent credit ratings and no mortgage on our home and they still wouldn't lend a dime. This is the reason people are leaving NJ. Good people are being shoved aside. Don't make the same mistake we did and save yourself a BIG headache. Use another bank.

Can I give 0 stars for this scam company that stole my money and has zero customer support? They charged me twice for a bounced check even though I told them to cancel it but instead they decided to try to deposit it twice and charge me fees twice.
