The Foundry Rose

I have NEVER reviewed a single place or product before, but this place was seriously amazing and deserves the 5 stars. Some of the 1 star reviews here are shocking to me because my experience here was the highlight of my week. I ate brunch here with 2 friends a couple months ago during peak foliage season and all three of us loved it. I’m not a picky person nor do I have high expectations for food— food is food, I don’t really care about the quality of basic items like brunch, but there was clearly special attention paid to the quality here. Maybe part of it is that their ingredients are locally sourced (which they are!), but all three of the simple dishes we ordered BLEW us away with how perfect they were cooked, seasoned, and prepared.
Also, the service was wonderful. Our waitress had a such a pleasant vibe to her that it blew us away just as much as the food did.
Finally, the ambiance was really cute and my group and I stayed there eating/talking for like 2 hours (I can’t remember if it was actually that long but still). Loved it.

We went to the Foundry Rose on a recent trip up to Cold Spring. The food, service and ambiance were excellent. I had the smoked salmon and my husband had eggs, sausage and potatoes. We couldn’t resist trying the pistachio gelato. Outstanding! We are looking forward to returning this summer.

New look and feel and the service was a bit slow but worth the wait. The owner greeted everyone and was on top of everything. My som was a big fam of the Waffle and chicken. Good food and vibe. Still my goto when in cold springs.

We came after a long hike at nearby Breakneck Ridge to find this extremely cute little restaurant. We were warned about a wait of 30min to 1 hour to receive entrees. But it never felt like dishes came out slow at all. We ordered the ricotta plate and fried pickles (these were amazing) and some seasonal ciders. The mains were very good, the 2 fluffy pancakes were huge! Our waitress was funny and very attentive - even on a really busy afternoon. Very much appreciate her. The 3 of us had a wonderful time.

Stopped in for a quick bite with my kid, and had a great experience. Delicious food (biscuits with honey!), great service, and lovely atmosphere. Can't wait to come back next time we're in town.

I have been coming to Cold Spring with my family for over 10 years. The Foundry Cafe is an eatery that will not disappoint. With its finger-lickin’ delectable homemade food, home away from home ambiance, and friendly service, you will feel like you’ve stepped into a place that has been long forgotten. My favorite dish is the Reuben sandwich with unparalleled pastrami, homemade sauerkraut and a sauce that haunts my dreams(it’s that good)! Their desserts make you wish like you had second stomach. This is a great stop after a day of antiquing or hiking.

Had a well priced mixed greens with balsamic vinaigrette salad. The service was friendly and very professional.

This an old style all American cafe established some 30+ years ago. I heard that they serve a best of breed French Toast. I told them I would be back to try it since I am a french toast connoisseur.

It's a small kitchen so you'll wait on the weekends, but there's no better breakfast/brunch in the Hudson Valley. I've been a regular for many years. The french toast w fruit tastes even better than it looks.

Delicious food, nice outdoor seating. The staff is very friendly. I had the veggie bowl with salmon and it was ah-mazing. My mom had the Mediterranean salad with chicken. Both so good. Highly recommend.

A little crowded for my liking, but that speaks to the quality. Food was delicious, atmosphere was cool. The staff was friendly and service was quick, considering how packed they were. Definitely recommend.

A place with a soul and an earthy cosy style.
When you enter the place you will get a nice casual welcome that would make you feel at home in no time.
There is a good choice of earthy, comfort food and desserts.
You can get a real espresso or if you are even more specific a macchiato though it is not on the drink menu.
The interior is charming with high ceillings and old beautiful walls and counter.
A good place to go back in time and relax in a cosy warm atmosphere.

Excellent egg sandwiches! They make a mini omelet with your chosen ingredient (I got potatoes, my fella got peppers) and stick it inside a roll. Three choices of cheese. Delish! Good coffee, too.

Someone left a review about not being able to have the stroller inside....It's really wild how entitled people are. This restaurant is so lovely, and the team there is so great. Rules exist for a reason. Strollers inside a business are a fire hazard . Food is 10/10!!!!

Food is very good and the place is charming! Nice atmosphere.

The food was exceptional. We had the Rose burger with fries. The burger was very tasty and juicy. The fries were cut from whole potatoes. Thick, with skin attached. Perfect. We totally recommend this place.

Yes! This is a huge improvement over the beloved old Foundry. Modern and clean interior. Great vegan selection and, yes, great service too. Imagine...

Update: one of the best pancakes I've had any place at any time. Excellent breakfast sandwich too. And amazing potatoes. Just a great HV restaurant.

My friend and I stopped in here for lunch, and we both loved it. Nice, cozy atmosphere, good music playing, and service with a smile. I had the meatloaf bahn mi, which was delicious. My friend ordered the Asian chop salad with what turned out to be a huge portion of chicken. She was delighted. My friend lives near there and will definitely be back. I would eat there again if I were in the area.

Stopped in this morning for breakfast — my fourth visit — and once again the food & coffee was great. Had the "Eggs Your Style" this morning which came with eggs, hash browns, toast , and sausage, and each was tasty. Service was friendly and the restaurant is clean and inviting. I am on my way to becoming a regular!
