We loved our stay at the Inn. We were close to everything. The kids had a great time at the park and zoo. We enjoyed lounging on the couches in the lobby. The cafe was good for breakfast and hanging out. The food at the restaurant was absolutely delicious. Everyone who helped us at the Inn and restaurant were extremely welcoming, kind, and efficient. The rooms are a good size and very comfortable.

Absolutely loved it!!! Came here with my husband for a 3 day 2 night stay at the detachable lodge. Loved it.. very, very cozy. The ice skating rink was open the 1915 restaurant was delicious… Loved the view! Would most definitely recommend and will be back.

We live in the city and wanted to get away for a weekend, and Bear Mountain was perfect! We stayed in the Cottages and it was a very simple room, but still perfect for coming back to at relaxing. We don’t drive (we got an Uber in) but there was still a lot to do and walk to without having to get in a car. The restaurant and cafe were both amazing. My only gripe was that you have to check in at only one of the three hotel/type and we got very turned around upon first arriving. But the cottages are so close to the main building that it was easy to get to still got to see the beautiful views!

The Bear Mountain Inn exceeded our expectations (and we are snobs!). We came up from our home in Manhattan for a mini "babymoon" trip for 2 nights in the winter season. Shortly after check-in, I had a really great prenatal massage at the spa. The ambience in the room was so relaxing, and the masseuse was friendly and very skilled. Our room was on the same floor, which was nice, and it was one of the most spacious king bedrooms I've ever been in. They provided bottled water free of charge. We had a dinner reservation at the restaurant and again, it exceeded our expectations, even though it was totally empty (we were there on a Thursday night for a 7:30PM dinner). The fireplace was so cozy and the waitstaff was excellent. The meal was very well-paced and we did not feel rushed at all; we did two courses and sat for almost 2 hours, which was great. The next morning, we used vouchers for breakfast at the Hiker's Cafe, which was SO much food for the money. The bacon egg and cheese bagels were better than we expected; my husband had one both mornings of our stay. After breakfast we went for a long walk around the lake, which is paved, which I appreciated being pregnant. The zoo was another unexpected surprise: all of the animals were out and front & center! We went both mornings of our stay because they were so visible and were awesome to see. The little museum areas were cool also, quite the step back in time. The carousel building had a big fireplace with seating that was a cozy place to warm up on our walk. The rest of the grounds and amenities were all incredibly well-maintained and had so much character. I'm not sure what I initially expected--maybe a little dated, or questionably clean, or mediocre food/spa/amenities--but I was wrong, and my expectations were exceeded the entire stay. We will definitely be back and kept commenting on what a good family stay this will be after our baby is born.

We visited family in Stony Point nearby for Christmas eve and Christmas day. The Inn is very convenient for us and we liked our room very much. We will stay again when we visit family. We have stayed at Overlook Lodge but the Inns rooms are much more updated and pleasant. The bedding at the Inn was wonderful and we appreciated plentiful and soft linens. The Inn was quiet and we enjoyed our stay. We'll be back.

We photographed an October wedding at Bear Mountain Inn. It was such a wonderful venue surrounded by endless natural beauty. We just loved how the rustic stone building looked among the changing leaves. Plus, the venue overlooks Hessian Lake, which is surrounded by rolling hills filled with Fall colors. The couple loved the location so much, we actually took a short ride to Bear Mountain Summit for their first look and circled back to the Inn for some more photos after.

Great little getaway spot for my wife and I! Plenty of opportunities to enjoy nature and relax. The staff is amazing and the restaurant never disappoints. This is a hidden gem in the heart of the Hudson Valley. Plan your visit now!

Had our son's wedding here November 5 and lucked out with great weather. Beautiful venue with amazing staff... from the catering staff to the servers everyone was cordial, efficient and a pleasure to work with. When brunch the following day had over 80 people show up when we expected 55, the staff was stellar in bringing out additional tables and always keeping the food trays stock... Five stars for sure!

My family and I attended the Breakfast with Santa earlier this month. We knew from previous experience that it would be wonderful, but the Santa this year went above and beyond all expectations. We were flying to a family funeral later in the day, and when Santa found out, he gave my daughter a special bell to put on our Christmas tree to remember her Popo and so that he will always be with us in this season. And he gave us all heartfelt condolences and hugs. He truly brought the love and joy of the season to a family that was grieving and in need of it. I cannot express how much we needed this at this moment, and I cannot recommend this experience enough <3
Best. Santa. Ever.

We visited Bear Mountain Inn for a wedding last weekend and had a wonderful stay! The inn was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the facilities were great for the wedding. We stayed at the Beaver lodge which was a short walk or drive from the main inn.

Where Bear Mountain really shines is the service. Malcolm in particular was so helpful during our entire stay! First he saved the day when we accidentally locked ourselves out of our room (with our car keys and shoes inside) - he immediately drove over to our lodge to help us get back in. And then during the wedding he shuttled us and the other guests back and forth from the lodges to the wedding (even when we just needed to change our shoes during the reception). Malcolm really made the stay exceptional and we would love to come back!

If you are in the area and need a great room as a. Equally great price, check out the bear Mt inn
I choose to stay in one of the cottages
6 hotel rooms with a common area well equipped with wet bar seating and a huge fire place
Rooms were clean and the view was amazing
Wood was provided for the fireplace
My only issues was, only one thermostat for the entire place.
Tons to do from hiking
Food
West point
Ect
The cottages would be perfect for 6 couples looking to get together
Cheers

The room and the beds are very spacious and clean. The staffs were super friendly. Really enjoyed my stay here.

You can get up early and take a stroll along the lake before people start arriving from the city.

My wife and I live locally, and decided to get away for 2 days try something different and still be close to the kids. It was a great experience and well worth. Make sure you you book a spa day for the wife. She loved it. The 1915 restaurant made me feel like I was at the Waldorf

we dined here on a rainy afternoon. The food was great, and the service was friendly. All of the trails around were closed due to flood (according to the park website)
Definitely will come back.

I was there today and I had lots of fun with my daughters. It was so easy to walk to zoo, lake, playground, and merry go round. We had a blast. Although we had to look for staff we enjoyed it.

Beautiful park, with a lot to do. Scenery was gorgeous and facilities were good. Front desk staff was not very knowledgeable about hotel policies and services (seemed like interns), but otherwise a great experience for the price.

I had an incredibly wonderful time hiking up the stairs to the Perkins Memorial tower all the way at the top of Perkins Memorial Drive in the Bear Mountain. It was a beautiful sunny crisp but not wicked cold fall day. The hike is doable because of thousands of steps that other people carved out of the existing granite.
There are granite and wood couches along the way carefully crafted from and for people who love nature and this beautiful mountain and nearby bridge.
The tower was open until 4 p.m. in the rangers are there late and letting us know and we had to go.
The views are 360 with windows that open so you can really get good pics!
Historic ictures somehow put onto beautiful tile plaques of this beautiful Tower built in 1974 to honor mr. Perkins who was a long-term Palisades Park Commissioner. Adorn the inside of the Tower and tell the story of Park management and its development for everyone's pleasure.
