Very beautiful zoo that houses Local animals from around the Northeastern region of USA, with a very picturesque view of the Hudson River and the Historic Bear Mt. Bridge. Good hiking trails going up to the top with majestic view of the Hudson Valley. Beautiful during Autumn, jam packed with tourists, traffic jams and long lines but the view is worth it. Enjoy 🤙

Great place to walk around. I took my kids, and we drove up the mountain to see all the incredible views as the trails were close. Saved us time and energy to drive back down to the lake and to walk around the small zoo, where we saw a few animals and bears. It was a fun family trip. I will most definitely came back during the summer.

We have been visiting since 1976. We stayed at Overlook lodge. My husband David, daughter Alexis and myself! The rooms were spacious, very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Overlook lodge has a spacious lounge with rustic furniture, and a small deck, with spectacular views looking across Hessian lake and the Hudson River Valley. Highly recommend for a family trip.

Awesome state park & shines even more brightly during autumn. You can see the best NY foliage during late October. This place became a popular and frequent stopover to and from the Woodbury Premium Outlet, which is only 15 minutes away.

Great place for a family. Phenomenal place to enjoy the outdoors. The park is well maintained with lots to see and do. The park keeps open the restrooms and they are very clean. Be sure to check out the river dock and the zoo as they are worth the extra steps.

Aug 28 2023. Partially open. Great job to all the widowhood made it happen. Thanks

Beautiful place. Opened the day we visited for the first time after devastating storm. Would love to visit again. Loved the roundabout and environs. Great that it was under cover and can just imagine how warm it would be in winter with that great fireplace going.

Beautiful State Park. It was open when we were there (Oct 2nd). Lots of space for walking, events, kids play area, and the hotel was open with a snack shop, gift shop and restrooms for use. The trail area was closed.

A wonderful place to go hang out on a beautiful day. Climbing the steps from the parking lot to the top of the mountain is my favorite. The lake there is also beautiful to walk around if you don't feel like climbing the long set of stairs to the top. Get here early on the weekend during nice weather or don't bother trying to park in the main lot. Plenty of other hiking spots around if it's full. There is also a paved road you can ride bikes on to get to the top. Don't forget to take some pictures once you get there. Save your lunch for the top.

This is a great park for a day trip out of the city. You can go on the paddle boat for 50 dollars an our or 30 dollars for half an hour for two people. They are tiring but you have to do it at least once. The park is spacious, food is a little pricey and limited so I would bring something packed or cook in the park. I would recommend maybe eating in the evening in many of the local towns like Beacon.

Cozy location with lodge, lake with paddle boats, ice rink, pool, beautiful carousel and hiking trails. I attended a wedding here in the carousel building recently and it was gorgeous and unique. The spa located at the Inn is a gem as well.

Went up Bear Mountain on a beautiful sunny Sunday morning and was blown away by the vast size and beauty of it. Definitely worth a trip up the mountain if you are local and have the time.

You can walk here from the Hudson River ferry. But there are no signs telling you to follow the paved trail to the north which goes under a railroad track,.then through a Zoo before going into the State Park!
