I visited this place for the first time. Ordered lobster lo mein noodles and general TSO chicken. Both were fantastic, the portion size was extra ordinary for the price. I also saw the servers carrying huge food plates for customers. The lobster was amazing and really well made. First time I have seen lot of lobster in a meal, and it was hard for me to finish the meal actually, I underestimated this place. Customer service can be improved for carry out customers. The restaurant is located in the downtown and definitely a must place to try great Chinese food and seafoods. Big thumbs up 👍👍👍👍👍

Updated review: 01/01/2022:
No wait at noon on a Saturday. For lunch, I had their house special pan fried noodles $14.45. Plenty of bbq pork, other meats, seafood and vegetables on top. 80% of the noodles were soggy though. They put too much gravy on it this time. I personnel prefer my pan fried crispy noodles with less gravy. Regardless it was a good meal. This dish was too big and I had to take 1/2 of it home. Good job kitchen staff at Hing Lung.

Updated review 10/11/2021:
Hing Lung Cafe has to be one of the best Hong Kong style cafes in South San Francisco. My braised beef stew lo mein ($12.45-10% off sale) was absolutely awesome. The beef was tender and perfectly cooked. I asked for less tendons because I prefer it that way. The little cup of soup had good flavor. The usual older women waitress wasn't working tonight. The rookie crew was a bit slow and sometimes disappeared for 10 minutes at a time. Regardless, the food is good.

Updated review:
Indoor dining 4/27/2021. I've returned to Hing Lung to try their other dishes. Tonight I had their wonton lo mein $10 and Hong Kong style spare rib $13. The wonton lo mein tasted great. You can tell how good a Hong Kong style cafe is by how well they do the simple dishes like the noodles, porridge, rice and wontons. They didn't provide oyster flavored sauce (Lee Kum Kee) that usually accompany this dish. I had to ask for it. That might be a good thing because some people just like it with the side of soup. By Hong Kong standards, the wonton sizes here are adequate. I personally like bigger ones, but Hing Lung gives EIGHT wontons in their lo mein. The bigger wonton places, at most will give you three to six wontons. The HK style spare ribs were not bad. It tasted like deep fried ribs with orange chicken sauce poured over it. I wouldn't order it again. Overall, a great meal. Service was as expected for a HK style cafe.

Indoor dining 4/13/2021. It is nice to see old favorites resurrected. We used to go to their San Francisco Chinatown location when I was a teen after hanging out in North Beach. We didn't go to their 19th/Lincoln location as much because it was rumored to be haunted. Tonight, I had the seafood pan fried noodles $13. The flavors didn't deviate much from their original recipes. The noodles were crunchy and not too soggy from the sauce. Certain dishes aren't good for takeout or delivery. This is one of them. The noodles don't taste good if it is not hot and half soaked with their sauce. This was amazing to eat in person. Service was as expected and this place is pretty clean. Great location right next to Starbucks. I can imagine myself coming here more often on the weekends to have porridge and a fried doughnut for a nice brunch.

I have never been to the other Hing Lung locations, but this one was overall a great meal. I came in on a Sunday night for dine in dinner, and it was quite busy. Despite that, we got seated and given menus almost immediately.

We ended up ordering six dishes, Shrimp Wonton (+Add Shrimp Dumpling) Noodle Soup, Clay Pot Rice with Pork Spareribs w/ Black Bean Sauce, HK Style Beef Chow Fun, Braised Beef Stew with Radish in Pot, Pea Sprout with Garlic, and Salt & Pepper Wings.

F1. Shrimp Wonton (+Add Shrimp Dumpling) Noodle Soup – Really good, both the wonton/dumplings were fresh and quite big! We asked for braised beef stew sauce to add to the broth to make it more flavorful, and they easily accommodated us.

H2. Clay Pot Rice with Pork Spareribs w/ Black Bean Sauce – The flavor of this dish was good and it had a good amount of meat, but the rice itself was a bit too wet for my taste.

L7. HK Style Beef Chow Fun – I always order this at restaurants when its available, and what stuck out to me the most about it here was that the portion was massive. It was made really well, but the taste wasn’t all there. I definitely added some of the clay pot rice sauce before eating it.

R5. Braised Beef Stew with Radish in Pot – It was good, but not a highlight of the meal. I probably would not order this again.

S1. Pea Sprout with Garlic – This is always going to be good, but I have to say the pea sprouts that were used were older and more fibrous.

O8 Salt & Pepper Wings – Juicy chicken and flavorful, no hard complaints (would have wanted even more of the seasoning).

Overall, everything was good, and I will be back to try other things!

This is the best Cantonese I have ever had in my life! We are foodies in this household, so I don't give my recommendations unless it is truly outstanding. We had the Chicken Curry, Mongolian Beef, the Spicy Pork Green Beans, and Hot and Sour Soup. You should definitely give them a try.

I had to charge my car after coming out of SFO. found a supercharger in the plaza next to it. A true gem that’s exceeding my expectations. Will come back again.

This is a typical affordable HK-style joint. You can expect a big portion, a reasonable price, and a little bit crowded. Authentic Beef Chow Fun, Porridge, and Soy Sauce stir-fry noodles are among the usual. I would recommend this place if you want some comfort food.

Best place on the planet to order lung. They have the most delicious lungs from a variety of animals. You can get boiled lungs, fried lungs, even broiled lungs if that's your favorite. You can get piping hot lungs and also cold lungs. If it breathes it leads. Best of all, as you can tell by the name the lungs are obviously hung so that you can pick you favorite.

Service was minimal. There were 7 of us and ordered a set meal for 6-8 persons. However, when dishes were served, there were only six servings. When asked for additional servings, the staff stated that is what they can provide. The restaurant is strict in running the business, not flexible, and won't gain any return customers.

Got off work early and was craving chow fun on after a cold day. Hit the spot. Very straight forward. Excellent flavor from beef to noodle. Beef was tender and delicious. Ordered online and it was ready on time. Forgot to take photos but I’ll be back!

Great authentic food. Very much enjoyed the roast duck, rice cakes, and bitter melon dishes. Very generous portions for the price.

Had lunch with girlfriends. Ordered salt and pepper wings. Sautéed green beans and beef stew with rice noodles . Dishes are large enough for 4 people. Will return to try other dishes.

If you're a fan of the original hing lung in chinatown, then this is theee place. I realized that there is another hing lung location, but they're actually not owned by the same people.

The owners were super nice; they still remember me when I was a kid dining back at their original (Chinatown) location. On the wall, you will find a picture of the original hing lung which gave me even more of the nostalgia feels while dining there.

We ordered a bunch of food, but I didn't get a chance to take a picture of every dish. They were popular for their congee and chinese donuts back in the days. And they definitely still live up to it.

I had dinner with my family, I ordered a dish of beef brisket noodle with wonton, came with lettuce, good nutrition, price was $20. Big amount, most of people should not be able to finish it. Delicious too, best wonton ever! Quick and nice service, the only small problem is a bit crowded. Will go again for sure.

You have to wait in line for a while. My local area does not offer a variety of porridge this restaurant does.

All time favorite for Chinese food with the "Wok chi." If you are a Chinese food fans, you know what "Wok chi" is. :-) During pandemic, their togo order is crazily busy. I am sure once the SIP is lift, this place will be packed.

Recently opened by the famous Chinatown Hing lung cafe original owner Chuck Kong, this cafe bings back canton comfort food like fried dough and congee, as well as memories of dining with parents and grandparents back in the old days of China town lives.

One of our favorite places to eat cheap good Chinese food.

We always get the congee with liver and pork meatball, a donut and another entree.
