What a fun liquor store to visit. It’s right on fifth Avenue, which is the main drag in the gaslamp district of San Diego, which should tell you something. I think this store may be more of a tourist spot than anything.

The prices will knock your socks off for specialty bottles of booze, and the prices are prominently displayed so that told me too that this is a fantasy experience more than a serious shop for buying

So for those who exclaim that prices are way too high, this is not your average liquor store. In fact, while we were browsing, not buying! We heard people come in and say the states and countries they were from, and no one seemed to be from the local area.

If you’re in the market for a very hard to find liquor, Pappy Van Winkle whiskey let’s say, the Wine Bank probably has it — for a steep price

That said, this is a fun store to visit to look around at the interesting collection of bottles they have. For example, just the tequilas take up an entire long wall of the store from floor to ceiling. The array is mind-boggling.

We asked a question or two of the man behind the counter, and I have to say his knowledge was encyclopedic when it came to answering our questions. Very impressive.

We had a good time looking around at the decorative bottles I am trying to find the most expensive bottles in the store. They have bottles of wine downstairs that cost upwards of $15,000. And they have bottles of whiskey for $8000 etc..

I recently had the pleasure of browsing The Wine Bank and chatting with a team member Kyle who was friendly, down to earth and humorous. I managed to find a bottle of tequila as a gift that I would not be able to purchase back home.

Well stocked and interesting liquor store right on 5th Ave in Gaslamp. Great friendly service.

Always my FIRST stop when staying in San Diego in the Gaslamp. Not only does the place have the most ludicrously huge selection of wines, but the price isn't as awful as lots of people here are claiming. Certainly not competing with your neighborhood Safeway but the quality kicks Safeway butt! I bought a bottle of 2013 Ridge "East Bench" Zinfandel for $35.99. Price online averages $32-$33. Factor in that your on vacation and staying outside your home and I think you'll quickly realize that this is a great deal. Still don't buy it? Just try to do better at any store, restaurant or bar in a 1 mile radius. If you can, I'd love for you to review it as such!!!

Staff was very helpful, knew where in the store what I was looking for was shelved. Nice person to talk to. Two floors of stock in that wonderful old building, go just to check it out. Oh the prices for my choice (Lustau) were the same as the only other store I know that carries it without the long drive.

What a nice wine shop! I must say, their beverage selection is various and impressive. The staff was pleasant and very approachable. She has a lovely smile that might make us feel more at ease asking for a favor. I look forward to returning to this shop and would recommend a drink here to anyone!

This has to be one of the most amazing wine stores I've ever been to, not for its selection of wines but because of its selection of bourbons and whiskeys it has one of the largest selections I've ever seen with a price range of anywhere from $20 to $700. The shop owner has an amazing knowledge so if you're looking for something unique this is the place to stop.

This place has some of the rarest wines, hard liquors and craft brews I have ever seen. I was thinking to find maybe some weird craft brews from some micro brewery across the country, but instead I found limited releases from 2015, exotic wines from Europe, tequilas and Mezcal that can't be found at a bevmo/liquor shop. Love this place. The underground wine cellar is also very neat to visit.

This is such an interesting place. Drop in if only for a look around. The guys working the front counter weren't especially hospitable, but were friendly while we made our purchases. But the architecture of the store... So interesting. Think Olivander's wand shop from Harry Potter, but for adults. Prices weren't bad at all especially considering the location in the Gaslamp Quarter.

My daughter and I participated in a wine tasting this Saturday here in San Diego. The setup was very nice with a nice little turnout. We bought a bottle of great wine and drove back to the O.C. If you get a chance to do this - go. It was a fun experience.

As i made my way through downtown San Diego I noticed this little shop. I was over whelmed just by the size and selection that is available. Then there is a private section that is just amazing to look at. Just in the few minutes that i stopped in this location had an immediate impact on me. For alcohol selection and accessories i will surely return more often.

I have found so many unique gifts for family & friends!! The gentleman that works there is sweet to tolerate all my questions and always helps me find what I didn't even know I was looking for! Taking care of ignorant customers like me has to be hard but he always does it with a smile. THANK YOU!!

Don't decide based on the one floor. There's a small, understated gate right by the check register that opens a lower level, aka a world of pure imagination - wines from every corner of the earth including lots of wines that have clubs only the cool kids can join (I'm not a cool kid). Competitive prices and helpful staff. What more could you want?

Great selections, helpful service with good humor. After dealing with BevMo's website to select a store, usually winding up at a distant store only to find they don't have any of the wine we need. I have always found BevMo's website frustrating and useless. Go to the Wine Bank, save time, find what you need (and probably what you don't need) and be done with it! You will be glad you did and it always fun to visit the Gaslamp district.

Went with friends for wine tasting with a groupon. We brought snacks which I recommend to help enhance the wines. The girl who did the tasting was very knowledgeable about the wines, friendly and came to our table. We had a great time and I enjoyed white wine for thefurst time ever. Would do again even without Groupon.

What a wonderful wine store. No, the prices are not out of line. The selection is excellent, especially for high end, special wines. Nicely merchandised. Amazing selection of tequila as well. Friendly staff.

We were introduced to the wine tastings here and now visit regularly for them. The selections have always been great for bottles usually in the $15-30 range

Don't settle for over priced limited selections in your hotel. Take a walk to the corner and ask for some advice choosing some spirits from their wall to wall options and great prices.
