My grandfather started this shop in 1986, and it makes me so happy to see its being run by two women who worked for him early on. Julie is amazing, and gave us a historical background on the evolution on the products, from my grandfather's designs, to new ones they've come up with on their own. I purchased a gorgeous tote, and the craftwomenship is outstanding, as always. Thank you for your time, Julie!

22 years ago, our family stayed on Cedar Key. I bought the explorer bag. It is used every summer. A friend recently complimented my 22 yr old "bag". I lamented that the shoulder strap had frayed. I was so happy to find the shop online, and spoke with someone who took my order for a new strap. Im thrilled to still carry this bag, to know that a quality business is still thriving, and to quickly receive a new strap for a nominal fee. Well done Cedar Key Canvas.

9-19-2018: It's one year later. The custom bank bag could make it another year or two. I carry it with me...phone, cards, small note book and pens...pocket knife. The only wear is from heavy use. TIME TO ORDER ANOTHER ONE. This one will also be black...a bank bag with a 1.25" gusset to carry all the "stuff". Going to embroider small phone number. One of the amazing things about Cedar Key Canvas is their "shelf stock" is a delight...but how Sharon and Julie customize makes 'ya smile!

While I always enjoyed looking in their "odds and ends", I enjoy a back pack, computer case, and custom "bank bag" which was cheerfully created and modified per my design. The canvas is 'old world' sail cloth quality...light weight and very strong. The colors and contrasts of zippers and handles makes each piece easy to see. I enjoy placing one inside the other...even have a small pouch for change!! If you are in Cedar Key...well worth the time to stop and look...ordering on line...you will not be disappointed in the quality and workmanship of each hand made piece.
