Locally owned and you can tell they put a lot of pride in their property. Aimee had great communication from making the reservation to check-out. The room was exactly as described. This is an excellent location for walking all around the downtown area. We will absolutely be back!

Spotless room! Friendly management. It's such a cute place. We only were exploring the area and just stayed overnight in the efficiency room. The bed was very comfy, and the room and the grounds were impeccably clean. We hope to return when we can stay longer and rent one of the cottages.

We passed this place a few years ago when we were staying somewhere else. Loved it. It just looks so "old Florida", but neat and clean and updated. We've stayed in three different rooms there (cottages and an efficiency), and they were all great. The owners are super nice and efficient, very helpful, you feel like part of the family. We're already planning our next trip to Faraway Inn. Be sure to rent a golf cart from them . . . so much more fun to not have to touch your car once you check in! A very laid back place, totally relaxing.

Efficiency Room #6: The owner, Amy, personally interacted with me twice before check-in which I found to be very personable service. She also offered early check-in, free of charge which was appreciated and wish I could have taken advantage of. Code was texted for keyless entry after hours. I was pleasantly surprised how extremely clean and well stocked my accommodations were for a standard room. Everything a person could possibly need for a short stay was in the room: toiletries, dishes, silverware, dish towels, etc. Grounds were very well kept and photograph worthy. The pavilion with porch swings and tables was amazing and had excellent view of the Gulf sunset. I did not use the bicycles, kayaks, or golf carts but plan to on my next visit. This was my first time visiting Cedar Key and feel no need to look at other places. I will most definitely be returning and have recommended to family and friends.

We have stayed with Faraway Inn twice a year (or more) for the last 4 years! We love the fact that they are so welcoming to our pets & us! Amy is very kind & helpful! The rooms are very clean & feel like "home". We have stayed in a waterfront room, the small room next to the office all the way up to the Captain's Quarters. All have been very comfortable & have everything you would need for an overnight stay or a week long visit! We love Cedar Key & one of the reasons we enjoy this little slice of paradise is because of the Faraway Inn! Keep up the good job!!

We stayed here this last weekend. It was amazing, the room as clean, and we had everything we needed, we rented a golf cart and cruised around town. The employees and the other guests were fantastic, everyone was so nice. The sun sets are unbelievable and you are so close to the water. Very close to down town. We will definitely be back!!!

Nice old Florida style place. The cabin was great and nicely maintained. Local market is 2 minute walk. Little beach right across the street. Staff takes care of the place and the cat will eat any extra steak you have.

This place is AMAZING!!! We were able to check in early, rent a golf cart and enjoy the most amazing day in Cedar key. Faraway Inn cottage was perfect! cozy, beautiful, clean and we loved it. free bikes! lovely garden and the sunset was incredible. We hope to be back soon! Thank you our family had the best time!

Absolutely amazing. Right across from the beach, walking distance to town, clean, spacious and well maintained.
They offered us early check in, we rented a golf cart and tooled around the island, the room was comfortable and well appointed. I definitely want to come back and stay longer next time.

Great motel with personalized hospitality. Aimee is wonderful, Very clean, lovely garden seating area, swings to watch the sunrise and sunset. Be sure to rent a golf cart in advance. You will need one to get around the island. They also offer bikes and kayaks with no extra charge. We highly recommend this property for your vacation needs. We had a great time and will be back one day.

Aimee is awesome, she was very attentive to our needs and went above and beyond to help us. We will definitely be visiting here again. Super quaint and quirky little resort fits right in with the laid-back vibe of Cedar Key. Located just across the road from the water, there are porch swings that let you enjoy the sunset from the property. Bicycles, kayaks, and golf carts are available on site. Pet friendly so bring Fido with you. Easy walk to restaurants and beach.

These cottages are beyond charming in an extremely idyllic location. The owner, Aimee, is super personable, helpful, and honestly just wonderful. My family and I had a great time great time visiting Faraway and can’t wait to return. The kayaks/canoes are huge perks as well!

I won't stay anywhere else! The owners are magnificent! Between the gulf view, quant rooms, free bicycles and kayaks, golf cart rental. Hands down the best place to stay in Cedar Key!!

Driving through cedar key and came upon Faraway Inn by chance, so happy we did. The room was clean and comfortable, Aimee was friendly and helpful. Porch swings under a metal roof during a typical Florida afternoon thunder storm with a great view of the water. Golf cart rentals and kayaks or bikes available. Perfect for our trip. We look forward to coming back.

Our cottage was super clean & comfortable. Felt right at home as soon as we got there. Appreciated being able to bring our four-legged friends. The golf cart rental was a blast. Amazing place with top-notch management. We absolutely loved our trip & can’t wait to plan another vacation.

Beautiful Inn at a perfect location, just steps from the restaurants area. The room was very clean and well maintained. The grounds were also beautiful and well kept. The lady at the office was very welcoming. Great experience overall.
