Decent nature walk with plant identification plaques. We did find some nice shells by the water and caught a few catfish.

Lovely short, interpretive, and free trail. Shaded enough to walk on a summer afternoon. Saw a few butterflies and learned about the coastal plants that grow in the area. Trash receptacles at both ends encourage people to be responsible with their garbage. Nice kiosk with some historical information and nice view at the end. The love of this trail is shown by its caretakers.
Parking is limited to a few cars, 5 if people park wisely, though I doubt it gets used enough to be an issue.
No restrooms.

Easy short, mostly shaded hike to see the historic remains of the trestle.

Very simple but nice .6 mile trail down an 1930's abandoned railroad causeway. Shade most of the way with simple benches along the way. Lots of birds when I walked down.

Kind of hard to find but a super cool walk to the end where there are remaining pillars of the old Florida railroad. Saw lots of different birds and enjoyed the signs labeling the foliage.

Me and my Cousin who is Now a Captain for American Airlines Use to Fly out here when he was trying to get his Hours in down at Embry-Riddle. We use to take off from Zellwood and touchdown in cedar key for a bite to eat ! and look at the old Trestle... Hometownselects.com or @hometownselects

We took a quick walk here just before dark hoping to get a glimpse of crepuscular birds. At the end of the short trail, we saw roseate spoonbills! About three dozen of them flapped in from the trees to squabble and feed. We could hear their calls but wished we had binoculars. We could easily read the signs identifying local plants!

I love this place and walk it most every time I go to Cedar Key. It's easy to find, well kept and lovely. Picture of the old trestle.

Cool place to see a little railroad history. The walking path is negotiable but could use a little maintenance. All in all a good view of history.

This was a short hike but a beautiful Hidden Gem. The town itself was under quite a bit of construction so finding this Trail which is nestled down a side road tucked away so that if you aren't looking for it you would miss it was very refreshing. There is a warning at the beginning of the trail of the different types of species and animals that are dangerous in that area which I really liked because I had my four-year-old son with me. The real pieces from the train track that are in the kiosk was a very nice historical touch. The view is very relaxing and right near the water.

Unexpected gem of a nature trail, walkable, short with the end a bird lover's paradise of the waters edge. The weather mid April early morning was a perfect for viewing cranes, egrets, spoonbills, osprey and more.

Loved learning about the history of the Cedar Key railway that stretched from Fernandina on the East Coast all the way to Cedar Key on the West Coast of Florida. The trail can be walked or (carefully) biked and the remains of the old trestle are still there. There is parking at the trail, but we wished there was a bike trail from the city to the trail. There was also some trash out by the trestle - let's help keep our trails clean folks! The trail can be walked in about a half hour or biked in about 15 minutes so it's a nice and easy one. Definitely worth doing if you are out at Cedar Key!

Nice short walk to the water. Great history. Large Osprey nest in the big pine just at the entrance of the trail. Got to see a male and female tending the nest, it was the best part. It's nice they turned it into something the people can use.

Nice little hike with a good view at the end. Mangroves, palms, back country water and, all sorts of info on flora along the way. Worth a stop.

A hidden treasure of the past. A Brisk 7 minute walk to the end, great place to land a variety of saltwater fish. A good pair of water shoes is suggested as the shells are tough on the feet. A simple 2.0 hook and split shot will get the job done if the tides not too fast.

Long peaceful hike to see a piece of old Florida history.
Placards on the trail describe many species and type of plants, some common, some not. To see plants and bushes one sees all the time, actually named, is kinda cool.
To me that alone was worth the walk.

Although the trail is short (only 0.6 miles) it it showcases a nice variety of local plants with informational placards. In addition it is a great trail for bird watching and it has a nice view of a backwater channel at the end.

A short but beautiful trail tucked away on on the final approach to Cedar Key, ending in a secluded cove spanned by the old railroad bridge supports. Shady and maybe a mile round trip with a liberal sprinkling of benches, it's an easy walk, but be sure to wear sensible shoes- the ground is covered in old oyster shells at the end of the trail.
