Cedar Key Scrub State Reserve

Beautiful place to walk in the morning and enjoy the sunshine.

I love driving down there sometimes just to see what animals I see! Once I saw a small bear.. bobcat.. and a regular old whoot owl in the road ♥ the Cedar Key scrub area is a state-owned animal Wildlife Preserve. There is no campgrounds it's just trails to drive down.

Visiting Cedar Key is like stepping back in time to experience old Florida. The museum offers a true peak into our past as well as details of some of the early pioneers and settlers who provided the base for what Florida has become today . You should know that the museum charges two dollars per head , and well worth it , especially for history buffs .

Went for a long drive through the reserve on a rainy, rainy day; saw wild pigs, turkeys and any number of other critters even in spite of the rain. Beautiful place!

We stopped and ate our lunch at the picnic tables. Was very clean well maintained.

We walked the the White trail which was well marked and a little over the miles. Worth every moment
