Bruce's Fabulous Foods

First time here. What a surprise. On the surface, it seems to be a typical old downtown diner with typical diner food, but...it's not. Every item is unique and just a notch above what you would expect. Three bean salad, yep, looks like a typical 3 bean salad, but OMG, amazing, no idea what's in it, aged basalmic vinegar? Savory, not too sweet, just amazing. And every side dish was that same OMG surprise. Best rueben I've had in the south. Swiss cheese is not overpowered by the kraut and dressing, Marble rye that tasts like rye and corned beef that stands on its own, more flavor than salt. Cheese cake, yes, it is the real deal special, NYC. Take home a whole pie kind of thing. Even meet the owners, Bruce and Barbara. I'm so appreciative that they have been blessing us with their gifts of service for so many years.

Bruce's Fabulous Foods is by far - the best lunch you can get in the Marion NC area. Wonderful and friendly staff, nice quiet atmosphere, and the food... OMG the food is at a 5 star restaurant level. Quick to the table as well. This was our first time there - and we'll be back for sure!!
If you prefer to use a straw for your drink then bring one with you... as they do not supply them.

Did I mention the CHEESECAKE? Key-lime pie filling baked on top of key lime CHEESECAKE. I would have preferred French fries over potato chips but I fell in love at first bite. I ate the Monte Brucesto. My wife got the Philly on a hoagie. SOOOOO good!. This little place was slammed during lunch in a town where there was VERY little activity 😀. Obviously a town favorite joint!!

Stopped here on our ride from NC to FL, and service was very quick which helped us out. Very homey atmosphere. Friendly and welcoming staff. Seems like they specialize in cheesecake but our food had everyone very impressed and saying their order was the best :) they have vegetarian/ vegan options. A must-try!

Bruce and Barbara Brown have truly created a hometown treasure in Bruce’s Fabulous Foods. The food is outstanding, the service is impeccable, the atmosphere is homey and every time I leave I look forward to coming back. I’ve enjoyed turning these beloved business owners into treasured friends. I cannot say enough good things about the food and people that are Bruce’s Fabulous Foods.

We visited Bruce’s today for the first time and can’t wait to return! From the fun decor to homey/casual feel to the warm smiles and fantastic service, it’s a wonderful place to grab a bite and stay a while.
Bruce spoke to every customer at least once while I was there, making sure everyone was fed, happy and taken care of! I had the Grilled Cheesesteak Wrap (at his suggestion) with a side of pasta salad, my fiancé had the taco salad, and they wouldn’t let us out the door without reminding us to choose from their dessert menu! Portions were generous and the food was so very yummy.
Friendliest service and some of the best food (for a reasonable price) I’ve had in a long time.
We will go out of our way to visit here in the future- it’s Diners-Drive ins-and Dives quality!

If I could give this 10 stars I would! We happened upon this place due to the reviews and so glad we did! Bruce and his wife both waited on our table and were so friendly and genuine. Cheesecake is included in your meal with tons of different flavors. He has 38 flavors of hummus. The pimento cheese is to die for! Tuesdays are potato specials. They are only open M-F for lunch! Definitely try this gem!

Located this local jewel while passing thru Marion. Barbara greeted us and treated us like old friends even though we had never met. Hamburgers, spicy beans and peppermint cheese cake were excellent. Took home a pound of pimento cheese to enjoy. We will definitely return.

I've been looking for a great place to eat in Marion and I finally found it. Staff us amazing food is even better. Cheesecake is amazing. Prices are great.

Stopped in for lunch on our way back home from out-of-state. This place captures the spirit of a bygone time when you could eat real honest-to-goodness homemade food in a warm atmosphere where you feel like family. The pesto turkey melt was absolutely delicious. Never had turkey so tender and flavorful. The homemade pesto sauce and bread were delightful. Had a side dish of homemade cucumber salad. It was so good I wish I could've taken a gallon of it with us. For dessert we had homemade pumpkin cheesecake. Out of this world. I cannot describe how much we enjoyed our experience. It was the best meal of the trip. Bruce and Barbara have something special here. We will definitely be back.

Truly a Mom & Pop dinning! The best Reuben! Their home-made cheesecakes are delicious- made by Bruce! A must when in Marion. Highly recommended

I looked online for lunch restaurant in Marion and found Bruce’s. My husband, adult grandson and I so enjoyed our lunch this past Monday. Susan was an absolutely wonderful server. The soups (turkey noodle and Italian tomato) were yummy. The atmosphere was homey and friendly. Grandson had the Hangover Halloween cheesecake which he said was incredible. Aside from over the top cheesecakes, the food was simply well- prepared, fresh, and comforting. I so hope that I am soon in that area again during their limited hours they are are open so that I can return. It is a place that is good for the soul.

Cannot say enough good about the greatness of this place! INCREDIBLE from scratch food, no deep fryer, it's all FRESH.

Amazing!!!

I ate here with my roommate last week on Friday. We were driving through the area and happened to stumble upon downtown Marion. Not knowing the area, we parked in the shaded side of the street and looked around. "Bruce's Fabulous Foods" caught my eye. From the outside it looked like a cute, little diner restaurant. We decided to check it out since we were very hungry.

I'm so happy we decided to eat here. The inside is small but nicely organized/spaced out. There were few patrons eating. We ordered sloppy joe sandwiches ("Sloppy Bruce"). I had not eaten sloppy joe in a long time. The meat was overflowing the sandwich! Tender, juicy meat. (I did order American cheese instead of the original cheese which came with the sandwich). The vegetable beef soup was homemade & delicious! The best part was the homemade cheesecake! (I ordered the banana pudding cheesecake. The slice was small and thin but delicious. Loved the soft vanilla wafer on top. You could actually see & taste the small banana slices inside the cheesecake.)

Service was quick. Servers were very friendly, polite, and loved chatting. I highly recommend this eatery! :)

My wife and I discovered Bruce's Fabulous Foods a few weeks ago. We arrived just after closing, saw staff inside and knocked on the door. They invited us in to taste their unbelievable selection of cheesecakes.
We have had lunch there twice since our first visit. The food is extraordinary! The recipes are Bruce's own recipes, choices are amazing, the staff is friendly and attentive, the service is excellent, and the prices are more than reasonable. We will be returning at least once a week to our new favorite restaurant!!

We were wowed by the selection of choices on the menu for lunch and the specials. My Reuben was excellent and so was my husband's gazpacho and quiche, and with a choice of at least 4 different cheesecake flavors it was hard to pick which ones we wanted for desert! All was excellent, and the service was quick and friendly.

Good home cooking, and the BLT with a gluten free wrap was delicious! We came at a busy time, and the counter service was just as good as table service. I highly recommend.

A friendly family run eatery in downtown. Sandwiches and pasta salad are good and every meal comes with a cookie or brownie. They also have an awesome, extensive list of homemade cheesecakes. They were the only restaurant open on Monday. I guess that is part of the reason they have been around for 30 years.

Bruce’s was indeed fabulous. The pimento cheese is to die for. Service was excellent and atmosphere was homey. Would eat here again!
