I made the mistake of going through Hamble Insurance Agency to purchase an individual health insurance policy. I was very disappointed with her level of knowledge about MNsure processes and requirements, specifically how the Premium Tax Credit works (vs. the ADVANCED Premium Tax Credit), even though she is listed as a MNsure "assister" and I questioned her about it multiple times. Based on what she told me about this, we did not go through MNsure as we should have, which then meant we were not eligible for tax credits. Learning about this after the fact was extremely frustrating; in hindsight, I should not have listened to her. If you need health insurance, find a competent agent/broker to help you (make sure they understand the “regular” vs. “advanced” premium tax credit options), or just enroll on your own through MNsure. I had a very bad experience with Hamble Insurance Agency and strongly recommend NOT using this business.
