We enjoyed each of our meals; chicken, burgers, fries... Service was fast and friendly. All locally sourced foods in our meals. At 4:30, we were the 2nd table seated and by 5, the place was nearly full.

We come here all the time, it’s amazing. The food and service are stellar! Outdoor and indoor seating, beer, wine, cider. Healthy options and a delicious local plate app that’s always changing.
Ask for Emma, she’s an excellent server!

Great chicken salad wrap, average fries. Very friendly and fast service.

Their side salad absolutely did not disappoint! All kinds of good and locally sourced fresh greens with plenty of flavor. The pork belly sandwich was very classic, though I skipped on the bread in the last half. I had already had another sandwich for lunch so it was personal preference and situational. The fries were delicious with local cheese and house made gravy. Service was good, even though we did end up having to arrive late. Never felt rushed to leave even though we closed them down. We also had an emergency issue about 10:45 and the owner responded very quickly to the email we sent and was there within ten minutes to help us retrieve the forgotten item. Aaron was a lifesaver and seems like someone who is super easy to jive with.

I will be thrilled to go back and try other items on the menu. It’s so wonderful that it is built on local fare and not what’s cheapest from the factory farms. Aaron even took the feedback about my partner’s veg burger being a less than wonderful texture and seemed open to some ideas about adjusting the cooking style.

My daughter came for a visit and wanted to eat somewhere "downtown". I told her that McDowell Local has good food so we went there. I like that many of their ingredients are from local farmers. I have been in a few times prior but have to say the service that Kelen gave us today was the best I have had there. She was super informative about the menu and the ingredients that we had questions about and checked on us the right amount and was very nice. Because of that I will continue to bring my out of town guests to this local establishment. Thanks again Kelen!

Awesome find! This place had great food and good staff!! Everyone was friendly and the salads and burgers were superb! Definitely marked down on my maps to return when we are out this way again! It looked so good I forgot to take a picture!

Great burgers and even better selection of local brews. Classic small town restaurant charm with more than enough flavor to leave a great lasting impression. Nothing beats the Hunter's livermush either.

Although it was less formal than I expected, the food was good, pretty good wine/beer list, and the service was wonderful. Even though they were really busy, the 2 waitresses tending to our table did a great job. I would definitely recommend if you're in Marion.

Super chill place to hang and enjoy a bite and drink with friends and family. I left my work keys there and unfortunately they were closed but I sent Aaron an email and he was super nice to reply and meet me at his restaurant to retrieve them for me. Thank you Aaron! Looking forward to next time we stop in Marion!

One of the best burgers I've had dining out in a VERY long time. Also, do not miss out on the piemento cheese and pork rind app.

If you are looking for an awesome burger & some great tater tots, you need to check out McDowell Local! They know how to cook a burger & cook it right to the temperature you requested. We've gotten togo food here a couple of times in the last few weeks and we're thrilled we found this gem. Check em out, they're local, they use local ingredients and the food & service is perfect! Thanks for being open!

Great lunch spot with delicious sandwiches! I didn't get any pics of my lunch, but these photos of ice cream are of the great little ice cream shop next door which specializes in unique and imaginative ice cream flavors! Fun!

There on a Tuesday evening and it was busy!

We ate here for the first time tonight and it was really good. It was busy but with it being a Saturday evening, that was to be expected. They seem short staffed and there was a bit of a wait but the staff was kind and they seemed to be trying to do the best they could. The food was wonderful. I had the house salad with fried chicken on the side. My mom got the chicken wrap with fries. The fries were exceptional, I also highly enjoyed the fried chicken. The cheese curds and pickled onions were also a really nice touch in the salad. Will definitely be back.

A What a great addition to downtown Marion dining! Our food was excellent including hand cut fresh french fries, delicious burgers with fresh, house made pickles, pickled onions, and the Bacon Jam was mouthwatering AMAZING! Loved the bright and fun decor in this very clean, family friendly local eatery!

We had a DELICIOUS brunch today! Flavorful Shrimp & Grits and a Frittata that included fresh ingredients and juicy, slow roasted brisket! It is wonderful to have a LOCAL Sunday Brunch place to enjoy wonderful offerings!

Best food, ever! Staff is so wonderful! We just LOVE this place! Always a fun time!
