The lobster bisque was amazing! The desserts were very good, also. Our waitress was so friendly and attentive. We will return the next time we visit Boone!

Our server was really great, she was a little (got 3 tables at the same time!) but she handled it perfectly! I wish I could remember her name, I think it was Maddie. The food was absolutely delicious, best French onion soup I've had in a long time! The ad said there was a view, but I didn't see one, that's alright the soup and sandwich made up for it!

In addition to the veg burger, nachos, and the fantastic spicy sauce, I also had the opportunity to try the tacos at Red Onion Cafe. They were simply outstanding.
The taco shells were perfectly cooked, and the fillings were a delightful combination of flavors. Whether you're a fan of meat or prefer a vegetarian option, the tacos had something for everyone.
The balance of ingredients and seasonings in the tacos made for a mouthwatering treat. Red Onion Cafe's commitment to delivering delicious food with a touch of spice truly shines through in their tacos. It's a place I'll be revisiting for these tasty dishes again when I visit Boone again !!

Coffee was also great !!

Good people, good music and good food, the kind of place we want to go to stay off the chains restaurants. Local beer offered.

My wife and I have not been disappointed with any thing we have ordered. We live in Bristol TN it takes us about 1hr and 1/2 to get here, and we feel It is well worth the drive.

The food was creative and delicious, and the service was very good here. We ordered the Mushroom Lasagna, Greek Pasta, Tuscan Red Pepper Chicken, French Onion Soup, and Artichoke dip. All our food was delicious and I would recommend any dish we tried, especially the Artichoke dip. It was unique and heavy on the artichokes, served with perfectly toasted little bread slices. Nice bar too, I tried a lavender lemonade. We will be back when visiting Boone!

This was the perfect lunch spot for our motley crew of picky eaters, adventurous eaters, gluten-free eaters, and a dog. We had to wait for a table big enough to accommodate 7 on the patio... but it was worth it. We had a half/half cheese and white pizza, salmon salad with lemon poppy-seed dressing, roast beef sandwich and French onion soup, club sandwich, Hamburger, and mushroom soup with penne. Yummy!!

We ate here several times during our recent stay in Blowing Rock. We were so happy to find a restaurant where the vegetable selection extended beyond french fries and fried pickles and it was great to find something other than a chain restaurant! Food was excellent, we were able to find several vegetarian friendly menu items, and the staff was very accommodating and delivering extra steam vegetables! They also have a full bar! On successive nights, we received excellent service from Joy, Grant, and Tatum. We also struck up conversations with others on the patio on two of our visits so we know the restaurant draws a nice, friendly crowd! Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area and certainly this would be my go-to restaurant if I ever had the pleasure to return to town.

This is a great find - thanks Yelp reviewers! Downtown Boone was busy this Saturday afternoon so we drove through and found that Red Onion Cafe had the best ratings and great views so we decided to check it out. We also had our big hound and were happy to see that they had a spacious outdoor patio.
Everything on the menu look good and we both ordered the combo specials. These are large portions and an appetizer and one combo would have been sufficient though we both loved our individual meals, even after the large plate of onion rings. Our server Brandon S was very attentive but not intrusive. We highly recommend the Red Onion Cafe to others, and especially if you're dining with your furry family members.

I visited for dinner in my second time dining in Boone. That’s neat as for services and the calming atmosphere of outdoor seating though it could be better sitting if the weather wasn’t gloomy. Every dishes and beverage ordered was terribly good! My waitress also offered me very warm hospitality so I’ll absolutely get here again soon!

Visited here for lunch on my anniversary trip to Boone with my wife. The greeter at the front complimented us on our anniversary-themed t-shirt. Our waitress was very kind and considerate, frequently checking in. We sat in a window table and the restaurant has some nice views of mountaintops. The environment is quaint and comfortable. The food was equally as good. We started with some artichoke dip with toasted bread. The bread was crispy and the dip was warm cheesy and artichokes were tender blending well as a dip with the bread. We also started with onion rings which were fried goodness. I had the spinach and chicken quesadilla for my main course and the quesadilla was warm, with gooey cheese, and delicious chicken complimented well with the spinach. If you are in the Boone area, this restaurant is one you have to try. Highly recommend.

I had lunch there and I will say that it was worth it. The Chai was so good and different from what I had had before. The sandwich and quiche were very tasty. The staff were helpful, and being able to sit outside was enjoyable.

Fantastic meal, well prepared. The fish was appropriately seasoned and the zucchini noodles were crisp. The Pizza to go was a souvenir of warm thoughts amidst inclement weather
