UT Health San Antonio Neurosurgery

Dr. Pappanestasio is a Brilliant, kind Neuro surgeon. He did my Deep Brain Stimulation surgury.....It was a long day in the O.R. and he made sure I was well cared for by Anesthesia and the Staff as he worked a miracle that freed me of my Essential Tremor i have suffered with for years....
I cant say enough to sing his praises.

The doctors and surgeons here are amazing. They care very much about their patients well-being. Unlike many doctors, their dedication and commitment to their practice has not diminished with time. I have seen other neurologist and surgeons who don’t remember a thing about me or my conditions even after visiting with me multiple times. This is not the case for the neurology and neurosurgery clinics at the MARC. I trust them, and only them, so much that I travel from out of state to continue care with them. I would highly recommend receiving care here.

I would give a 5 star simply because of Dr. Birnbaum. He’s quite literally saved my life. HOWEVER, UT Health collects a ridiculous amount of money from patients on a daily basis. I’ve been coming here several years and am now watching the furniture fall apart and I’ve seen Bucees bathrooms look better than the bathroom on the seventh floor. How about instead of padding your executives pockets with bonuses, there is an allocation of funds to create comfort for the people who keep y’all in business.

Well I should have checked the rating first I guess. The secretary was so rude. I can't believe people like her are in health care at all. It's all about politics for her.

She must have said the word ObamaCare 15 times. It's the Affordable Care Act. ACA.

She wanted to know how much I paid for it. See? She said, that's Obomacare. We don't take that. We take United Healthcare, but your card probably says Marketplace on it somewhere.

No lady. It says United Healthcare Affordable Care Act. Not Obamacare Marketplace. She acted like she was throwing up in her mouth.

Then she denied the referral authorization. I have the printed out copy with my United Healthcare, the auth code, the diag codes and 12 visits approved. Then she hung up on me 2x.

My son’s medication was not renewed based on the fact that he could not see his doctor today. His heavy work schedule. He suffered a seizure due to the medication not being provided and renewed. Complete list date and attorney on file. Ross & Matthews. The message with Patient Advocate never return phone call.
