I have had urological problems much of my life . I started seeing the providers at Maine Partners Urology a few years ago , everyone at this practice I have seen are excellent, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. They all go above and beyond , they view the whole picture and critically think outside the box , extremely knowledgeable practice good medicine. Emily Reece NP , Dr Verlee and his team Dr Sobel and all the team are great .

My mother had surgery done by Dr. Faust-Wright after seeing Dr. McDonald who went on maternity leave after coordinating multiple doctors to get her treatment. They went above and beyond in every respect and treated her with patience and compassion. Any time I called they said to bring her right in which is impossible anyplace else. I cannot recommend enough!

Dr. Hansen was recommended to me by a friend. The entire team is very professional yet deliver warm, personal service. When my Prostate biopsy came back cancerous they were supportive and due to my flexible surgery were able to get me into surgery at SMMC with two weeks! Dr. Hansen went above and beyond communicating with my wife before and after the surgery. Highly recommend this group.

I was referred by VA to Maine Medical Urology for a prostate biopsy, my doctor was very pleasent and professional before during and after. The ultrasound tech was fantastic what a professional she was, from the phone call the day before and during the biopsy and the after talk, she was a dog person so we had something in common. All made me feel safe and I was in the right hands. Thank you.

Granted, it took a month to get an appointment, but it's understandable due to the pandemic. Dr. Sammon is straightforward and honest, which I really appreciate. I appreciate even more that they're able to get me in for a biopsy in a week.

I am a new patient here, this morning I woke up with a concern and was told to come in and see a nurse, come to find out it was my lucky day, nurse Emily was assigned to me, I just want to say that this lady is a credit to Maine Medical Center and the nursing profession she was very professional and caring, she kept me in the loop as to what she was doing and when I left my mind was completely at ease, Thank You Emily for the care I received today.

Dr Jumper is a great Provider! The staff was kind and comforting to my 15 month old son.

My "sig O" sees Dr. Hansen, who is actually caring, listens, and did a great job on his surgery. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is their follow up and communications systems are horrible. They remind me of a non responsive customer service dept at a lousy company given a "D" rating by the BBB. For a doctors' office THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!

The two providers we saw were great, professional and competent; however, every other step in the bloated bureaucracy of scheduling, admin., and staffing was disastrous. The original, promised call to schedule an appointment never came, then out of the blue someone called about my surgery the next day?!? Obviously, that wouldn’t work, so I rescheduled another month out. Within hours someone else for
The office cancelled the appointment I just made. After much back and forth, date was confirmed; however the woman who called me prior told to me arrive at a completely incorrect appointment time, so I sat around waiting, further inconvenience if the generous people who offered to drive me. The constant bungling through each step of the process is, frankly, amazing, and based on other reviews; more common than not. Maine medical partners is generally a really efficient and competent institution, and I can’t believe upper management would be pleased with this level of institutional dysfunction (each link along the process was erroneous and seems to have no idea what the other pieces were doing) the system needs a revaluation, such that the great providers and staff, as well as patients Get the interaction and service that other branches of MMP are capable of. Make what you want of this review, but it just boggles my mind that each step of the rather simple administrative process was a complete bungle, with the exception of Dr Chalmers and Dr Jumper who are fabulous.

Had surgery for kidney stone. I booked follow up appt for stent removal. I specifically asked for an early morning appt so I could get to work on time. I arrived 15 mins early. My appt time came and I asked if I would be seen soon, as I had to get to work. The receptionist told me the nurse had not arrived yet. My appt was almost 25 mins past the scheduled time. ( I was late for work). After the appt, I was told that I would be called in about two weeks to schedule a follow up appt. I haven’t heard from the office and it has now been 6 weeks. No call whatsoever. The docs were great, but the lack of follow up is alarming. Office management is horrendous.

Was referred to Maine Med Urology by my PCP. It took 3 weeks to get an appt for what I felt were urgent symptom. I was seen by a Nurse Practitioner, not a Physician. The NP was very nice, had a great bedside manner and seemed to know her stuff. I was diagnosed and put on antibiotics and meds for symptoms. 6 weeks and lots of details later, I was not better and went for a second opinion at Fore River Urology. Turns out I was misdiagnosed. I was taken off antibiotics and changed my meds. I was also told to cancel a procedure that the NP had ordered because it would have made things worse and would have been inappropriate for the true diagnosis. A week after changing my meds and under the care of Dr. Greg Adey at Fore River, I'm already feeling better. I wish I never went to Maine Med Urology. They wouldn't even let me see a Physician as they are reserved for patients who get surgery only. I find this to be completely ridiculous. I guess they are OK if you have a UTI or something very minor and simple but if you have something more serious going on, go somewhere else. I highly recommend Fore River Urology. You get in quicker and you see an actual Physician on your first visit. The only reason I'm not giving this place 1 star is because the NP and the Nursing Staff were all very kind, great to work with and very responsive.

Been deals with them since September 13, 2023, I actually delt with bad Workers Comp Doctors better then these guys. Started with two 4mm kidney stones, two surgeries and two CT Scans later I still have a 4mm kidney stone. Can't advocate for yourself because they don't do anything.

I’m supposed to have a medication administered by this office every three months. They have been late EVERY SINGLE TIME. This summer it was memorably two months late. I feel light headed, crumbly, hot flashes.. and I don’t have an appointment until July. I try to schedule at the office, after the appointment, and they say their books aren’t open. I call later and oops, all booked up. I GIVE UP. I’m going back to shots.

Tests didn't get done in a timely fashion because someone in the office admittedly did not do their job. Now that test have been done, I have no results. This office is completely incompetent. This was for a possibly serious issue for a child.
**Addendum: I sought a second opinion, and boy am I glad that I did! I eventually got ahold of the pediatric nurse practitioner in this office, (100 Brick Hill Ave) and was told that the results of my child's tests were "normal" and had been sitting in MyChart waiting for me to view them for a month, that they simply do not contact patients with test results, and that it is my fault and problem for not checking MyChart. So began my journey for a second opinion. I took my child to a pediatric urologist at Dartmouth -Hitchcock today, and it was WELL worth the 2.5 hour drive!!! Turns out, my child has a serious issue and is on the verge of a bladder injury, kidney damage, has pelvic floor muscle damage and a possible abdominal mass. My child's condition is NOT "normal" as the office in south Portland stated it is! My child is EXTREMELY uncomfortable, and too young to verbalize that. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not take your child to Maine medical partners pediatric urology!!!!! I am very very lucky that I followed my gut instinct and got my child the help they need and deserve, instead of being satisfied with the lazy response from this office!**

The only reason to give even one star is that support was available by phone on the 2 1/2 hr drive home.

I got the call to pick up my partner after his biopsy when I was about10 minutes away. This was fortunate since I arrived to find him alone, slumped in a chair placed outside the door, which was locked, in the afternoon sun - this was back in August. He was barely conscious and couldn't walk on his own. I am appalled at the lack of care -at a medical facility!

Kinkaid did my surgery years ago. He knew that the tube in my bladder never got even one drop out but instead of taking it out he was on vacation when I suffered from an infection. Months later I was pulling swab pieces out of a hole that had formed. This swab stuff was left inside after surgery! When I went to him and told him I was having problems he didn't care. I can't believe he is still in business! Wonder how many times he was sued. Wish I had of sued him!
