After several false starts, I finally got to try the Miss Portland Diner, and it was worth the wait. I had a basic staple - the bacon cheeseburger with fries. It was cooked to perfection and I devoured it fast. I also learned that a downeast Reuben sandwich is an open faced sandwich, which was much to the chagrin of my dining partner. Service was decent and vibe had a cool old skool diner feel to it. I will be going back and trying more food. I will adjust this review accordingly.

What a fun little diner! Come early because it fills up fast. The menu is simple, but the food was seasoned and cooked perfectly and everything had a “home-cooked” feel. I ordered the Irish Benedict which came with chunky and delicious home fries. My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy which had the best gravy I have had at a breakfast restaurant. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. I highly recommend the Miss Portland Diner!

A very good, busy diner in bustling Portland, Maine. Skip the wait for a table in the dining room and ask for a counter seat in the old diner car. You’ll be rewarded with faster service and traditional, historic diner ambience. On three visits I’ve kept it basic: the two eggs breakfast special, scrambled, with home fries, bacon or sausage, and wheat toast. It is hearty and well prepared, served by a friendly and efficient counter server (the same cool/hipster-y man each time I’ve visited), and a great start to any Maine day. Follow it up with a stroll through the historic Old Port, the majestic Eastern Promenade, or a nearby beach and you’ve curated a perfect Portland day.

I’m ever treat myself to pancakes but I’m so glad I did here. The pumpkin & cream cheese stuffed one was incredibly delicious. The freshly cut & perfectly seasoned home fries were excellent too.

It’s a fun looking restaurant & the staff is very friendly. Definitely a highlight of the vacation in Portland.

Growing up in NJ, diners were everywhere. This one in Portland doesn’t disappoint when it comes to a well rated diner for me. Service is good too! Had a broccoli and cheese omelette, they have gluten free bread but opted for no bread today. Coffee was hot, fresh and tastes good!

Very pleasant service, child friendly. We came in 1/2 hour before closing on a busy afternoon but we were seated quickly. I loved my bacon cheeseburger with home made potato chips, yummy coleslaw and a good dill pickle. Peanut butter and jelly is not on the menu but was easily arranged. So glad to have found this great diner!

Came here today on Carnival Cruise to Portland Maine and found this little diner, which wasabouf a mile walk BUT worth every step. Very friendly waitress and hostess that greated us. It's got that hometown vibe and a cast menu of amazing options to choose from. I definitely recommend getting off the beaten path and heading to Miss Portland Diner for a great breakfast! The prices are awesome considering the quality of food! Btw...corn beef hash !!!🩷

Went to eat lunch here today, Monday. What a cute little place to eat. No wait at 12pm. I had the walnut cranberry chicken salad on rye bread with fries. It was good portion and yummy.

7-17-23 we had an amazing time at Miss Portland diner this morning with our server Aerin. The service was on point and very professional, even though they were all hump busting. I had the blueberry pancake with actual Maine maple syrup! Delish!!! I also had there corned beef hash…very tasty. My wife had the spinach mushroom omelette. It was healthy and a good portion, just didn’t have a lot of zip, but with those ingredients, without adding butter and salt, that’s what you get!!! Would come again!

This is a good breakfast spot. The food is good and it's a nice atmosphere, try to sit in the train car section. Prices are not bad and there is actual parking despite being in the middle of Portland

I went for the first time this morning and it was a nice experience. It's your typical diner, great service and delicious food. Opted to not sit in the diner car but, I'm sure that sitting in there would've added to the experience. Check them out!

I absolutely loved this place; the atmosphere was really cute and nice especially sitting in a train car, the food was really good as well, the clam chowder was good and the bayside Ruben was delicious and the service was phenomenal

Our Uber driver told us it was the best breakfast in Portland and it didn't disappoint. First time I've had REAL corned beef hash - not the canned stuff I get at home. The Irish Benedict was the bomb. Great atmosphere and really good food!

BEST BREAKFAST EVER! We had a massive party that Miss Portland Diner was so incredible to accommodate. Service was superb, very friendly and attentive. Food was also largely portioned for the prices and so so so good. We enjoyed the campfire s’mores pancake special, the biscuits and gravy, and steak and eggs. Would come back here any time and recommend to anyone. Super cute diner vibe with much better food than your typical diner!!

They are busy after we got here. Which is good for us haha.

Very simple diner with lot of outdoor seating which seems to be always full. You can forget it. Kids and adults is always there.

Inside is a little more fluid but they are busy as well. We got lucky to arrive before a group on 10.

Food is simple to fill up and get going. I like the coffee which is the most important part of the breakfast of course.

Tip well and free the table.

Great breakfast here, worth the wait. I had the florentine eggs Benedict which was very tasty. We ate in the diner part of the place and loved the atmosphere. There are booths and a counter there, and in the newer part of the building there are tables. The poor waitress was really slammed but she worked hard to attend to everyone.

Come for simple food made very well. Good service. No wait when Marcy's or Bayside had 40min+ waits.

The Good:
Amazingly good food. They are very okay with adjusting and modifying meals, especially for dietary restrictions. Less busy than other popular Portland brunch places. Service was nice and prompt.

The meh:
None.

The Bad:
None.

What a pleasant surprise this was. Very stylish, revamped old diner car. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Staff are friendly and well informed about the history of the car itself. Food was fast and parking was free, and easy. Definitely would come back!! Yum!
