Not the longest trail but the end is very pretty

We hiked this trail in 2014 when anchored in The Basin. It was a very enjoyable hike in the cool woods. We saw a lot of blue and purple mushrooms and wildflowers through the area as well as quite a few birds of pray.

The access is via at least 0.5 miles of gravel road, maybe a consideration in wet or icy weather. The other comment here about long pants is spot-on. It's overgrown and there could be poison ivy or ticks.

Seemed like a cool place to hike but trail was overgrown. Not good with little kids. Wear pants as there may be poison ivy along route.
