Me and my family use this company, but my dad is the one that deals with them mostly; he isn't technologically inclined, so I'm transcribing this review for him. He says that he really likes Butch and would always want him to come service our septic tank; he also really enjoys the customer service received when he calls. The woman he speaks to on the phone is very polite and it's effortless for him to get them to come down. We've used Travers 2-3 times so far, after previously using a company for 10+ years and we only wish we'd been referred to Travers sooner! We will definitely be long time customers. The prices are great and they do a much more thorough job than we've previously experienced.

I have used Travers plumbing many times. Their service is always on time, very well done and a reasonable price. They are very honest in everything they do. I love that I can trust them not to try to upsell or do things I don’t need. They have kept my old heating systems working and efficient. They also keep my septic well cared for so that it will last years longer.

Travers Plumbing Heating & Plumbing has been to our house 3x in the past 9 months the- first to replace a failed septic pump, which had exploded all over the bathroom (since that bathroom is in the basement, we need a pump).
Then to take out the toilet and pump (since that bathroom is in the basement, we need a pump) so that the flooring could be replaced. Then to reinstall the toilet and pump. Then the 3 year-old pump failed for some reason, and now we have to replace it, so we had to schedule another visit for them to replace the failed pump- which will be in Jan.
Each time Travers Plumbing has provided excellent, prompt service- very responsive to calls and fair pricing. We really appreciate their services- their plumbers always provide good service (they also service our furnace) and are very courteous. We highly recommend them. They are also less expensive than area competitors.
update 12/2023- then that same sanipump failed- so Travers Heating & Plumbing said that to save $, we could purchase a new pump ourselves and then ask them to install it. Thanks for being honest Travers Plumber! very helpful- they won't try to rip you off, they seem very fair.

I recently bought a home in Tiverton, RI and my realtor recommended Travers Plumbing and Heating. They have been really great to work and were very responsive when I called them to address a water pressure issue I was having. They quickly assessed the situation and fixed it very promptly. I am happy I found my plumbing company for my new home!

My wife returned home from Florida to keep appointments. When she arrived she informed me that the heating system was not responding to the thermostats. Luckily the outside temps were not very cold for January. I called Travers Plumbing & Heating to service the boiler, and they responded quite quickly. It took the better part of a week for Steve C. to chase down multiple parts that had to be replaced on a 30 year old boiler but he got it done just before really cold weather set in. My wife had nothing but good things to say about Steve and how courteous and professional he was. He saved me an expensive trip to RI, and he also relieved me of my concerns not only for my wife's lack of comfort in a cold house but also from a potentially damaging leak in our house. Travers came through when we really needed them. Thank you!

Travers is a local Portsmouth business and has always been responsive to my plumbing needs and done a great job for a reasonable price. I have used them for inside bathroom plumbing problems as well as outside septic system maintenance. With regard to the latter, they have currently diagnosed a significant septic system issue and are undertaking a rehabilitation project which I fully expect will be handled with their usual degree of professionalism. I recommend them without any reservation.

I called them because my septic tank was full. They came right out same day and the driver that pumped my tank also alerted me to an issue with my system. They were very responsive, reasonably priced, and saved me from a lot of future expenses and issues. They are a great company to deal with and I’ll be using them from now on.

Earlier this year my son was having issues with proper drainage of toilets in his home. Travers did an expert job resolving the issue. They arrived promptly and the technician was professional and courteous. Septic system has worked flawlessly ever since. Highly recommend this company.

Used Travers Plumbing for the first time to pump our septic tank. Best experience with a septic technician ever. He was on time, cordial, professional, and it was the first time in over 20 years that I had the septic pumped without a sales pitch on septic products! Also, Travers price to pump the septic was equal to the best price anywhere.
Did I mention their customer service people are genuinely friendly? Seriously, they were happy to schedule around my work hours.

I have been doing business with Travers for years now. Their communication is excellent, Erica in the office always pick up the phone or calls you back the same day. Travers installed a central A/C unit in my house and when the system broke down came immediately to service it (in the busy Summer months). Initially, they did send a newer technician, but when the system failed again after a few weeks (either for the same or a new problem, I will never know) they sent their most seasoned A/C guy the same day and the problem was fixed for good. Erica fought hard with the manufacturer and got me a refund for the electronic board that was replaced.

We had Travers install a replacement overflow tank on our hot water heater last fall. The tank failed unexpectedly recently. I contacted Travers. They acknowledged the tank was still under warranty and promised to send a technician as soon as possible even though they did not have an open appointment for over two weeks. A week later they called and said they had an unexpected opening and they could send the technician right away. They did so. The technician was knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. The new tank is working perfectly. I received a bill from Travers in the mail today indicating no payment was due from me. It is nice to see a company stand by their work.

I have found the folks at Travers and the service they offer to be exceptional. It is great when you find a business that is there when you need them!!! I have never taken the time to review a business before, but as I think back ... Travers has fixed my AC in the middle of summer, my heat in the dead of winter, water heater, plumbing emergencies ... Had a 'no heat' emergency. the fellow who came out from Travers was very knowledgeable, explained what was happening in very simple terms (so simple that I could understand them) and then went about to fix the problem. I now have heat. I would give him five stars

On the 29th of April, I called Travers Plumbing & Heating to see if they could move up our septic system pumping. They were able to have a technician out that very afternoon. I believe his name was

I have used Travers for years for pipe repairs, difficult faucet installation, and septic pumping. Always responsive, very courteous, and fairly priced. Very nice people to work with. I have just (April 2024) used them for full cleaning of septic system D-box and laterals and am very satisfied with the service. A really friendly group of people.

Today, Travers plumbers, TJ Mahoney and Jeb Gagan finished their outstanding plumbing work at my house, that included replacing my basement sewage pipes, and bathroom pipes. We went from Cast Iron to PVC Pipes.
Since the end of last year I couldn't do a washing, flush my toilet and take a bath. Now everything works perfect. Travers Plumbing & Heating Inc does the job right and the people are marvelous thank you!!!

I was impressed by the amount of time, testing and research the owner devoted to identifying the root cause of a serious and complicated plumbing issue. Using the research and testing data he collected, he provided a detailed description of the issue, made sound recommendations for repairs, and performed the service work with successful results. The office manager is exceptionally efficient with scheduling, billing and answering questions in a kind and professional manner.

We had Travers Plumbing complete some work at our new business (M & J Manor) in Newport, RI. The customer service was fast, friendly, and answered all our questions. We were totally satisfied when the work was completed!
