Midtown Oyster Bar

I thoroughly enjoyed the experience here and the variety of oysters. I had four different kinds of oysters which were phenomenal, very fresh, and as described. I think my favorite oysters here were the Davenport and Wellfleet. I had the Salmon with rice pilaf and roasted asparagus and my BFF had the lobster roll. It had a lot of lobster but it was served on a small bun. Entrees were delicious too but the oysters stole the show for me. For dessert. A key lime pie. Technically it's really a muffin since that's the shape it comes in, but still phenomenal and very fresh tasting. I would definitely come back here.

Stopped in for a quick lunch and we were not disappointed. The service was good and our server was knowledgeable. We had the stuffies (great) to start, then tuna tacos (good), and baked oysters (also great!). They even had a large local draft beer selection.

We were visiting family in the area, and enjoyed an outstanding lunch of oysters, clams, and the best lobster roll I've ever had. We were impressed with the lobster claw Bloody Marys too! We eat a lot of oysters back home in Seattle but I thought the Atlantic oysters were even better. It wasn't terribly busy despite being the Sunday after Thanksgiving with a Pats game on. Would absolutely come back!

My husband and I stopped by Midtown Oyster Bar based on the reviews on Open Table. We stopped by for some appetizers on a Saturday afternoon. We were sat upstairs outside. We love how spacious the restaurant is.
The Oyster selection was great and each different kind we tried for better and better. So yummy.
We also got the chargrilled octopus and the calamari. We usually don’t order calamari at restaurants because it is usually not very flavorful, but the calamari was very lightly fried with pearl onions and a really nice sauce on top. The flavors were amazing. The chargrilled octopus was absolutely incredible. Highly recommend stopping at Midtown oyster bar when you’re in Newport. Reservations recommended.

Great food terrific server. She was knowledgeable and offered amazing recommendations. Loved that she knew exactly what she was talking about. She was able to communicate even though the restaurant was so loud. Took us in even though the kitten closed in 30 minutes. This was just a great time and really made my vacation in Newport special.

We loved Midtown Oyster Bar! The oysters and swordfish were delicious, as were the stuffies, the sides, the oyster stout, the Aristocrat, and the bread pudding. We loved the warm and inviting atmosphere, the kind and professional service, and the excellent food. Highly recommend. We would love to come again!

Some of the best oysters I have ever had and also the chowder was extremely good. We watched the football game and had great drinks and the atmosphere was great too!

We were greeted and seated promptly, given menus and water and allowed ample time to decide what to order. After drinks arrived our apps came straight away and were delicious. Mussels and fries, fresh briny oysters labeled for their location and calamari scantily breaded and perfectly cooked spoiled us for any others we'd had before. Our entrees were also excellent. Service was spot on, well done all around! Can't wait to be back in the area and visit again.

Fabulous experience! We were looking for a causal girls night out that was fun, delicious and had a vibe. Midtown fulfilled it all! Service was attentive, friendly and had great recommendations. Food was delivered timely, but dinner wasn’t rushed. The dishes were spot on! Lobster roll (buttered) was awesome. Scallops were on point. Cod chowder was substantial but not too heavy. Key lime pie kept us going back for seconds. The downstairs bar scene was buzzing. Definitely will go back!

Each dish was prepared to perfection. Service was world class.

This place was flawless. Great vibes, awesome service and amazing food. We got the crab and tuna tartare and it was so fresh. We also got the lobster rolls and the buns were perfectly buttery and flakey. The stuffies weren't on the menu but it was my first time having them and they were so good.

Very good food & service. I had the lobster bisque which was perfect for the cold outside, the salad and the seafood plate!

Top notch seafood restaurant. The food was amazing, the server was extremely nice and friendly, and the building was really cool looking.

I tried the Mahi Mahi Sandwich. It was as cool looking as it was tasty. The fries were salty, which was perfect.

One of our favorite places in Newport!! Always delicious!! LOVE their lobster bisque and the perfectly chucked oysters!! My son wanted some lobster Mac and Cheese and, even though it wasn't on the menu, they made it for us. I forgot to check how much it was but, whatever it was, it was AMAZING!!! Can't wait to come back to New Port and visit Midtown Oyster Bar again!

Our 1st visit to Newport, we decided to check out Midtown Oyster. Had the Wicked Hot shrimp. Steamers, oysters and the Charcuterie board. Everything was delicious.... perfect presentation on the Charcuterie. Food came out quick, great staff. Would definitely dine here again if I'm back in the area.

Excellent service. We ordered two entrees to share. I asked the waitress to have them cut the oyster burger in half. They not only cut the burger in half but split both entrees on two separate plates for us....loved that! That doesn't happen at many restaurants. The burger with fried oysters on top with a ramoulade sauce was amazing...want to go back for more fried oysters...so, so good, as well as the burger w gruyere chees and fries!! The grilled salmon on a spinach salad topped with fresh mango, bacon pieces and slivers of parmesan cheese was excellent! The dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives was one of the best I have had. Would like to try the Seafood Ceasar Salad, fried calamari and fresh oysters on the half shell next time. Three thumbs up from me!

I only stopped in for a quick app and it was well worth it.
My wife got the charcuterie board, I got the scallop crudo.
They gave me 3 huge super fresh scallops, Id be here all the time if i lived closer.

Loved this restaurant! We had fresh oysters, juicy swordfish, and a crispy salmon BLT seared to perfection. For dessert, we tried the homemade key-lime pie and the chocolate cake topped with hazelnut spread. The service was great, and outdoor seating on the balcony was very nice! Definitely reccomend trying this restaurant!🦪🥪

Had to get one of every oyster they had. I ate them too fast. Woops.
