The Red Parrot Restaurant

Came here on a busy weekend in Newport and got seated right away after the main lunch rush. The food was excellent and the portion sizes were huge here! Very happy about coming here and would recommend it to anywhere in the area that’s looking for a spot. Looking forward to coming back next time we’re in the area!

Decided on the Red Parrot after a recommendation from a friend. We were quite happy with that decision. There are many great dining choices in Newport and Red Parrot is now on our top 5 list. Went for lunch and got the Tuna Bowl and Lobster Cheesy Fries. Both were mouthwatering. Next time have to try the Lobster Pizza! The service is good, food comes fast and hot. Great place for families.

I absolutely loved the open floor space and the bar stools. My wife and I enjoyed a seafood pizza and were very pleased. Really, it's a very nice and iconic location in newport. The menu is quite large and has a broad range of dishes. It's definitely a great place to grab a drink, a snack, or a full meal. Recommended.

Upon a recommendation from a local, we stopped in after 4 PM without reservations and were seated in five minutes. Depending on where you're sitting, you may be fortunate as we were and see the harbor.

Our table was near the front corner of the restaurant, and while we did have the view, the table seemed uncomfortably small even for two people.

Our waitress, Maddie, was friendly, courteous, and very helpful with the menu and selections. If you're first timers like us, the menu is overwhelming with the available selections. My wife had the lobster
quesadilla with a killer lobster Caribbean dip and sweet potato fries as a side. I ordered the Mediterranean Swordfish, which came with asparagus and jasmine rice.

Everything came out in 15 minutes or more and presented nicely. Everything tasted great, and the Caribbean dip for the quesadillas was outstanding! My swordfish was cooked to perfection. The shrimp and scallop topper on the swordfish was equally perfect.

Overall, the food and service were excellent. The reason I gave Atmosphere only four stars was that it was very loud (music) when we arrived. Parking wasn't a problem since this is off-season.

This was a perfect dining experience. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was very good and kind. This is a must visit if you are in the area and want to try the iconic lobster roll.

Food was absolutely delicious. Lobster nachos, lobster quesadilla, NY strip steak stuffed with lobster. Amazing!! Even dessert the No Way Jose. Highly recommend. Our servicer was great as well and made sure he got our orders correctly.

Lobster roll was amazing. My mother had the fish and chips and loved it. And my mother doesn’t like the taste of fish if that tells you anything. Portions were generous and the staff was very knowledgeable about the menu. Very good experience.

The food here is excellent! There are tons of choices and great fresh seafood. The lobster nachos were awesome and so were the lobster rolls. This is one of the few places in New England that doesn’t hold back on the portion of lobster meat they serve!

9.9.23 We always enjoy dining here because of the various menu choices. Today I was here with a 13 year old and she found 5 different things on the menu she liked. Shocker, I know. We opted for the calamari, petite filet mignon, and sesame ahimsa tuna on a salad. All the food was seasoned perfectly and fresh.

I've always loved the food here, and have yet to feel disappointed. I had the Swordfish Mediterranean and it was amazing. The swordfish just melts in your mouth, and was not dry by any means. My wife ordered the lobster mac and cheese and enjoyed it as well. Try this place out!

I highly recommend having a meal at this restaurant if you are in Newport. The Red Parrot is a beautiful building inside and out. It is also located perfectly in the center of town. Everything I have eaten here has been delicious and the service is great to go along with it.

Excellent service and delicious reasonably priced food. This place was packed midday on a Tuesday and quite loud and busy-- it's popular for a reason! Loved stopping here for lunch and will recommend it to anyone passing through town to see the mansions.

The best Lobster bisque I have tried. The one with lobster in it. Went on a weekday less busy. Window sitting was nice. The lobster roll was just as good. Large building in the corner can't miss it. Great service ! Enjoyed the meal.

We ate here twice, because our first experience was so great. The lobster nachos brought us back for a second dinner. The adult beverage choices are fresh and delicious, and we sampled a variety of entrees and none of them disappointed. Then there was the Ice Cream Nachos as the grand finale. The menu is so extensive, we had trouble narrowing down our orders. Our servers, Hannah and Ryan, were knowledgeable and all smiles. Don’t miss this gem.

Food is excellent, great service and convenient location. The surf and turf burger with lobster scampi on top is phenomenal. Lobster roll was one to remember. Good sized portions so bring your appetite.

Tried their famous Lobster nachos. Absolute bomb ! As a solo traveler, it was just me and hence I couldn’t finish it. I had just the nachos as my entree. The portions are large(the price as well-$32) but I’m glad I tried it. The workers are kind and lovely. Lovely ambience. Just get a window seat and do some people watching at the Thames street.

Great experience! Excellent food! Was with a party of 5, and all of us enjoyed the food. Sam was a great server too! I had the crab cakes, awesome! Good cocktails too! Prices very reasonable, you're in Newport after all. Totally worth it, stop in for a bite.

Boat drinks, coconut shrimp and a parrot vibe- this place is great! So many levels and so much space - excellent for large groups. Very family friendly. The stoli doli drink doesn’t disappoint. So many lobster dishes to try - lobster nachos, lobster pizza, lobster rangoons, etc. the batter on the chicken fingers light & flaky! Service was fast, friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

Loved the ambiance and vibe of the place. Pasta and Lobster nachos were so yum! Another beautiful historical place you can dine at when in Newport.

My favorite place in Newport! I've been coming here for years, and it never disappoints. The drinks are fun and tasty. I recently got the calamari, lobster nachos, and lobster Mac and cheese. It was all very decadent as well as delicious.
