OZ Prime Cutz (Formally Maria's Family Barber Shop)

I usually go to the franchise salon down the street, but this time, I decided to look for a local barber to get a fade cut. What luck! Oz was fantastic and took me in even though i was super early. The place has a great locally owned barber vibe. Very chill cool peeps. Turns out we both grew up down in South Florida, so we had something in common to talk about, and I never felt like i was being rushed out for the next cut like some places. He took his time and gave me a great smooth fade cut that will grow out nicely. Very happy with his work. Staff is very warm and friendly, and real. They got a good thing going there. So yeah, I'd say if you want that connection with your barber in a relaxing atmosphere that's not trying too hard, then you might want to try OZ Prime Cuts. It's easy to miss on 192, but dont let that fool ya. It's a nice little hidden gem where you won't feel like a number.

I was in dire need of a crispy shape up to look good on vacation. While on the way from SC to FL I realized that I’d left my clippers at home. 🤦🏾‍♂ After a quick search for barbers near the hotel we were staying I found this spot. I checked the reviews and photos then set an appointment online. I arrived and OZ welcomed me in as he spoke to an older gentleman outside.

He took his time and asked questions to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. Attention to detail was impeccable—-he even trimmed my nose hairs😂. All in all it was a great experience, a great vibe, and best of all- a great shape up. Preciate you OZ!

Oz did an incredible job, he gets to know you and what you like in a haircut to make it personalized and fresh. Skin fade was on point, and he does really well with Latino hair. Atmosphere was chill, friendly and well kept, and staff is very welcoming. Really good service and quality haircut with good attention to detail from Oz. I will definitely be coming back.

Oz, hands down one of the best barbers I've been to in years. Very detailed. He asked me a lot of questions to make sure im getting what i wanted. He delivered that he did an amazing job, very friendly, and knows what hes doing been cutting hair since 2007. Oz was also teaching one of his staff members how to do a fade. Hearing him talk and explain to her how he does it and what to even listen to told me he is extremely passionate about we dose and cares greatly for his customers. Will definitely booking my bext appointment soon.

Oz is always on time with my appointment. When I walk through the door, he's standing at his chair waiting for me. He's a great listener and listens to any special requests and knows how to treat your hair. If he has any recommendations, he'll offer them, but doesn't force you to take his recommendation. He's thorough, consistent and you walk out with a clean clean cut. He's also great conversationalist and remembers the details. Come to Oz if you're looking for a clean cut every time with close attention to the details.

The staff at Oz were friendly, courteous, and professional. They got me in and out in a timely manner.
I dont have a set "style" so i asked the barber to give me a cut that suits my head and facial features and it came out great.
The price for the cut was average, about what i would expect to pay but the attention from staff and customer service i received was well above average. Thank you!

I stopped by on the way down to south Florida for some interviews. Oz got me right with a clean fade and I look great for my interviews now because of it. He made me feel comfortable and at ease, listening to me and carefully explaining what he was doing. He was meticulous and made sure everything was taken care of. Come to Oz if you're looking for a clean cut every time with close attention to the details, and I’ll be sure to revisit anytime I’m in the area.

More than just a haircut, it is an amazing experience every time. OZ takes his time with every cut, and the rest of the staff is excellent as well. The prices are great and they always do a great job!

Great experience and hair cut! My son and I walked in and were greeted with a very courteous hello and we will be right with you. Both of our haircuts were great and the barber Oz took his time to ensure they were done properly. We will definitely be going back! I had a very nice experience getting a haircut from Maria. She was very pleasant and easy to talk to and gave me a great cut. This was my first visit, and I was so pleased. She consulted earnestly prior to the cut to make sure she was giving me the cut I wanted. I appreciated her concern. I would highly recommend Maria.

Maria and her staff are very friendly! I will not let anyone else except Maria cut my hair now because she is the best. She listens to me when I explain how I would like it. Her shop is very clean. I recommend this place to anyone old or young that wants a great cut, color, or style. The prices are also very reasonable.

2/27/2017 Update: So below was my original review from almost 3 months ago-1 star. After my review, Maria, the owner was kind enough to reach out to me to fix my hair. I told her I wasn't sure and very skeptical. I had been wearing my hair in braids to hide my bad cut. So, I finally went in and had Maria fix it personally. She was so sorry for my bad cut and saw the errors. Not only did she fix the terrible cut; I love it! She has cut it in the fashion I normally get my hair done. She took her time. She even gave me a shampoo! I'll be back! See picture below.

First time visiting this shop. Carol was nice; and I tipped her well because she did spend time on my hair and she was nice. Worst haircut EVER!!! She complaint about my thick hair- yes I am an Asian with thick hair. We joked about it. BUT this was the worst layer/texture cut I have ever had. The layers are not even; the parts from the back are not even. She had taken too much hair on one side compared to the other. Now I have to spend more money and time to go to my usual place and drive and hour and half to get this hot mess haircut fixed. Maria, email me if you wish me to send you the picture of my haircut. Going to Hair Cuttery would have been a better alternative.

Maria gives me the best hair cut I have ever had . She knows how to cut thin fine hair. She has also matched my hair color to my own natural color better than color specialist in New York City. Prices are very reasonable, service is outstanding.

Greg cuts my husband's hair and he has given my husband a current up to date cut that is much more youthful than his old army days hair cut. Great job...

Back in 2021, me and my father used to go to Marias, she always did my hair well done, and did my fathers hair well. Comfortable seating, and Maria was always so kind. Unfortunately I cant come again after he died, but would ove to visit again.

I walked in with no appt and was walking out the door 35 minutes later with a great cut. The shop is clean, neat, the staff is friendly and theres plenty of easy access parking just steps from the door. You won't need a bus to get to the barber chair like some of those Super Hack mall barbers. A jewel of a shop right here in W. Mel
