Orso

Decided to pop in here during fur rondy for a snack. We sat at the bar top. Would recommend getting a reservation if you plan to have dinner there.

The bartender was friendly and attentive. She made a delicious hot cocoa for me. We decided to try the appetizer sampler, and it was a good thing we were sharing and didn't order more food because it was a lot!

I feel the price was good for what we ordered. We enjoyed the raviolis, especially with the pesto sauce and the steak bites. Weren't the biggest fans of the calarmi. My friend felt it was a little too salty. But those sitting next to us who got the same thing seemed to like it. Will definitely return to try more things.

Had a great experience here tonight. The atmosphere is very nice as well as the staff! The food was excellent! I ordered this lamb dish - I forget the name of it. It was amazing though! The meat just fell off the bone and melted in your mouth! 😊

I was only here for a quick stop before going to the next spot and I am sure glad I did! The crab cakes are made with King crab and they are delicious! The presentation was beautiful and the servers are experts on the menu. I love that they work as a team and you feel taken care of the entire time! The server suggested I try a special wine called garganega and it was smooth, light, and tasty. I will definitely be returning to try some more menu items!

I had a great time! Excellent food and atmosphere and the service is close to perfect. Get there early to sit in the bar area or make sure you have reservations.

The restaurant was clean and well staffed by friendly employees. Restrooms are available.

Reservations are recommended. The restaurant has something for everyone and the food was cooked as ordered and the portions were ample. Our Server David was Great.

The Beverage list was extensive and again something for everyone.

Seafood gemelli and petite fillet mignon meals were incredible. Lots of flavor and the seafood was cooked well. Salad with couscous, pears and walnuts was delicious. One of the better restaurants we’ve been to here in Anchorage

Just stopped in for a drink and small bite to eat. Had the anti-pasta. It was very tasty. Other people's dishes looked and smelled excellent. Give this place a try!

The food was delicious. The waitress was very friendly, kind and knowledgeable. She offered great suggestions. The wine was excellent.

I had heard good things about this place, but when I walked in and saw the bar it was fire. What a cool, cozy place! It was my first time, and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. They had some great suggestions after asking a lot of questions and it was perfect. We had some kids too, so they jumped right on it! They took the kids orders and they had food in minutes! Great job guys. That made everything easier for us to take our time ordering and taking our time to talk. Dr. Dachowski recommended ORSO even though we had planned on going someplace else and I'm so glad he did. It was amazing and it was a great way to end the perfect day. Thank you ORSO! We will be back for sure.

A special staple every time I'm in town. The NY strip and ossobuco are devine. Food is always consistently amazing and fresh, and the service is phenomenal, and considering that the price is very fair. (Though the food presentation is completely different every time lol). Good public parking options nearby

We had the most delicious meal here. The rockfish was amazing, such an interesting and delicious sauce and cashew crust. The salmon was also delicious and perfectly done. The sauce was creative and delicious, and the polenta may be the best I have had. The bread was also very good with gorgonzola butter, tomato, and olives was also fantastic.

On Valentines evening, my date and I had:
Smoked Old Fashioned
Lemon Drop
Crunchy Ravioli
Lamb
Filet mignon
Carrot cake

None of these dishes disappointed, our server was super fun, and we could tell she was busy so the service was a little bit slower than usual, so that's my only and really nitpicking gripe here.

The drinks are excellently made. The bartenders definitely show consistent skill

The crunchy ravioli is a great start and it prepares you very well for one incredibly tender, perfectly cooked and delicious main course.

I had the lamb and wow! I could have ordered two, really. My date had the filet mignon and it was perfect.

To wrap things up, the carrot cake was WOW! Its a must try.

Pricing was fair and right. The drink were on the little high side but the food is not overpriced.

I ate at Orso during a trip to Anchorage for Furrondy. I tried other classic restaurants around downtown, but Orso was my favorite easily. I ended up being a repeat customer during my time in town. My favorite were the crab cakes and their steak appetizer were to die for.

OMG! Can you say amazing! We had a fabulous evening at Orso! We started our meal with an antipasto appetizer paired with a delicious cab. Next, our meal was suburb followed by a trio of wonderful desserts. What made our experience even better was our friendly, efficient waitress, Rachel. She made our last evening in Anchorage memorable. Her friendly demeanor was appreciated.

This restaurant was a rare find, where everything from appetizers to salad to cocktails to main course to dessert to the service was first rate. Their signature Alaskan cocktail is nothing short of brilliant, and my wife enjoyed the Paper Plane cocktail.

Delicious food and awesome service!! Didn't see a lot of vegetarian mains on the menu but they were very accommodating and were willing to pretty much create whatever kinda pasta we wanted with whatever sauce we wanted. We ordered some appetizers and they were great and then asked for an off-menu eggplant parmesan with mushrooms with low expectations but it was amazing!! Unfortunately, the kitchen closes at 9pm so, we were unable to try the desserts we wanted. Shout-out to our server, Chelsea, who was super friendly and added to our already amazing dining experience.

Stopped for early dinner before super early flight back to TX tomorrow morning. Calamari appetizer and clam chowder was good. King Crab legs were very good with all the sides. Hubby had the Salmon and enjoyed it as well. Would recommend. Would return to eat here again.

Delicious fine dining with what can best be described as an Italian-Alaskan fusion menu. Excellent seafood, nice rich house made desserts, and a strong drink selection. Service is a very cordial, leisurely dinner setting. Don't go if you're in a hurry!

Orso is an outstanding place to have dinner. The wooden decor is on the high-end side. The staff is professional and quick to our needs. I ordered the seafood mac & cheese and the seafood chowder; both are super rich & delicious. They also have an excellent selection of drinks. I highly recommend this place.

After 2 years, Orso is re-opened and better than ever. They kept all the best things about Orso and freshened up the concept, menu, and ambiance. There were wines I’d never heard of, a delicious cocktail called Barolo con Bolle, and the flavors of the food itself was superb. The new chef sure knows his stuff and the presentation is masterful. Fresh colorful vibes of new art and plates, with the rustic dark wood from before. Their concept is “Alaskan food with Italian spirit” and they’ve hit the mark. Can’t wait to go back!
